yeah. getting sawyer to be head honcho was horrible. guy was too analretentive about combat balancing. like the fuck this isn't an mmo. i just want a good story.
the story had potential but execution was just awful.
two thirds of the game and i wasn't even sure the gods existed, then super reveal at the end about the gods and i was like meh, don't care. not invested enough. maybe if this was the third game or something.
durance was the only well written guy i think. his life should have been the game. chapter one is you guys building the thing, then chapter 2 wandering around wondering why your god has abandoned you, chapter 3 big reveal, chapter 4
Spoiler: |
kill your god then stop the guy with magnificent hair

I wish we could play through the conquest, not just read all this text ...
1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB
2) SFFPC (streaming via Moonlight+ Sunshine)

Well at least combat seems to be less chaotic than in PoE mostly due to reduced combat speed.
Tbh the game looks\feels amateurish and cheap. At least for now... I hope it gets better

I'm liking Tyranny so far. So much reading. I hope that choose your own adventure part actually matters, means more fun for further play throughs. I don't mind the reading, I enjoy it as long as it's a fun read.
Just noticed that green highlight text has me reading a scepter's thoughts so I had to reload to see what I missed. lol

Is it just me who finds the story completely uninteresting? Might pick up later though

So is there a big disadvantage if i chose a physical and a magical class?
Thinking of going Javelin and some other magical class, maybe Ice.
Want to play on third difficulty.
But i guess i will just be a weak peasant in the end as i have like 4 different attributes that i must improve?

I tried but it seems you can't destroy chests at all. I can't even cast a fireball to smash it to pieces.. I don't like these clearly artificial restrictions that don't make any sense.. I mean why wouldn't I be able to do that?
PS Is this the world map? wtf it's so small
Spoiler: | |

No that's not the whole game map

Spoiler: | Then there’s the deliberate attempt to introduce a sense of rush. When you start out there’s an Edict that’s going to kill absolutely bloody everybody, you included, if a particular area isn’t captured within eight days. There’s a counter at the top of the screen, and it gently pulses to remind you of the urgency. In Hayden’s preview last month, he was told how it was tough to get everything done in that time, and that the game would simply end if you ran out. I finished every bit of it, every side quest too, with six days left on the clock. It didn’t work at all. |

Not sure he meant small as in small, but rather small in scale. And that is right.

Wonder how the did it. Spend every coin he earned on potions to evade resting or something?

As has been obvious for a long time, these people just want choices, not any consequences. No wonder Telltale games are so praised. |
Good old journos, they never change. Then again, it's the same site that assigned a 94% to DA2
I was reading that most of them complained about combat being too straightforward, yet they rushed it on normal which Obsidian doesn't recommend to begin with.
Thankfully we have the ISOdemo here, so we can definitively avoid all such nonsense, and judge by ourselves. I shall do it too tomorrow!

I'm playing on normal, finished the edict thin with 4 days left. Not an issue. Now i'm wondering if i should:

Betray everyone, or not betray the rebels so I can have my own army. Tough choice.

Game feels rather boring sadly, like pilars of eternity .
Writing is flat and for some reason , 90% of the soldiers you talk to are female, they seemed more concerned with pushing agendas than with writing a great story and characters.
Also I think turn based combat works much better in games like these, this seems like a chaotic clickfest.
The tides of numenera beta was infinitely better than this.

@AKofC
Does it get better after act 1? How many acts are there anyways?
I liked Divinity Original Sin 2 much more than this...
1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB
2) SFFPC (streaming via Moonlight+ Sunshine)

dunno yet, i'm still on act 2.
though i'm more of a story guy, so that's why i like this one
DoS 2 was a bit silly for me
combat in this one is meh as it was with poe, DOS2 had the better combat
i like all the reading and conversations and world building, and the things you can do with the story
unsure how the story changes though, what i'm currently doing is betraying everyone and taking power for myself, but i'm not sure if i sided with a faction if i'd still be at the same place i am now
