Dis game is shit. Why does it look like there is a darkening filter over the whole scene?

RGB is all messed up.

Does it still feels like your driving a tank down the hill instead of a human floating on snow?

Hmmmm I don't know if you have ever gone skiing, I suppose you have as you live in such a snowy country. I have and it surely didn't feel like "floating on snow" Very Happy

Well when you go snowboarding in big heavy powder snow, like in the case of Steep, you kinda float in it. I'm not saying you actually float over the snow, but the movements are more "floaty".

Last beta I played of Steep it felt like the dude weighted 40tons with a sticky board. It felt a lot more grippy than it actually is, losing way too much speed over small bumps and hills.

And yeah, i've been boarding for about 10years!

Then I can say that the game hasn't changed in this regard. I too felt it was nothing like being on snow. You'd think he's a fricking elephant in the way he slows down with each little bump/turn.

I enjoyed the SNOW beta a whole lot more, this was only 15 minutes worth of laughs with the silly ragdoll physics.

I've never snowboarded so I wouldn't know Razz

BTW, I don't think the game simulates skiing, it's actually very arcadey and fun can be had with it, but it's not worth the full price Ubisoft is asking for it, I think not even half full price.

I guess it simulate sun glasses, so your eyes wont bleed and such Very Happy

I find the game just gorgeous and extreeeeemly fun. Huge amount of suits and character customization to "unlock" (hope no microtransactions will happen here).
There is even a sticker "In tartiflette we trust" : 10/10 Laughing

I wish someone with proper resources could make a proper alpine ski sim, where you have to manage your weight properly, learn every corner with extreme care, and avoid lethal bumps like the sports version of Dark Souls. Very Happy Laughing It would be a financial flop, but still! (I'm an alpine skier myself - never tried snowboarding though, it's for wimps Cool Face)

The "best" that we got were the good old RTL Winter Sports and Alpine Skiing games, they were fun for a while, albeit nothing really satisfying with their flabby physics.
These arcadey Ubisofties on the other hand are completely unappealing to me, more so since they're designed for online brofisting whilst doing a nolook backflip and sipping fresh mountain dew. Sad

It's not even about simulation or arcade... there have been enough arcade ones that had a better feel to it than this pos.

This was very weaksauce. When you get going the sense of speed is actually quite good, but the tricks are meh, paragliding is annoying to control, the wingsuit is very hit-or-miss, so I safely going to give this one a pass.

Is the one on Steam called SNOW any better?

I don't get all the hate here. Because of just them being Ubisoft ?

It is like I am playing another game. Neutral
I won't put 60€ in this kind of game for sure but it is far from that terrible.

I just met up with a random guy and we had some good laugh especially when we failed at the very same spot.
Game is rock solid here, and definitely the best "snow" simulator I have seen yet.
Gfx are stuning and performances are ok also (thanks to my Gsync monitor tho), turning around 45-50fps @4K with everything maxed but AA @2x.
Not to mention the map is kinda huuuuuuuuuuge.

Now I have still to see how long I will enjoy the game before finding it repetitive Very Happy

I didn't expect much, but... controls are clunky as fuck, the only fun thing is probably the wing suit. Physics are really bad, sometimes you fall from touching a little rock, sometimes you easily slide on it for a longer period and nothing happens. Sometimes you fall when you hit a tree, sometimes you get a black & white screen and you zip on through the snow with the same fucking speed.

It doesn't feel like I'm with a human, feels like I'm controlling a fucking Pz 4 from WW2.
