Looks even more tablified *shrug* Nothing that will stop that trend anyway.

I'd be happier if they gave us more customization options.

It be a big improvement for me to hide some genres, curators, VR, Tags...
That being said, I haven't looked into it if we can... but it's valve so I'll go with my gut feeling and not even bother looking for it.

FYI the latest MSI Afterburner 4.3.0 when started with windows stops Steam overlay from working, I have to stop it, then start Steam, then start Afterburner to have them both working Mad

He doesn't like that Valve hasn't fixed their overlay compatibility issues so as to "force" this he has now removed his workaround that was used in previous versions so the user has to add it back manually now if they intend to use Afterburner (The in-game OSD of it that is.) with the Steam overlay. Smile

EDIT: This. ->

C:\Program Files (x86)\RivaTuner Statistics Server\Profiles\Global (That's a file, no extension, simply contains text.)


[Hooking]
InjectionDelay=15000
InjectionDelayTriggers=igo32.dll,igo64.dll,steam_api.dll,steam_api64.dll,d3d9.dll,dxgi.dll

Add or change as required.
(igo or the Origin overlay is there by default, Steam files are what you need to add and the d3d stuff is what I've added for compatibility with ReShade and similar injectors using those.)

(Might only be required for 64-bit too but I added both just in case.)

This forces a 15 second delay before Afterburner initializes giving Steam's overlay time to start first. Smile
(Fifteen seconds might be a bit long but it's recommended though if you have games that start faster or well the Steam overlay initializes faster you can lower this value.)


EDIT: Setting this->
InjectionDelayDirect3D12=1

Is also recommended for any game using DirectX 12 if you use that API. Smile
(When using the above delay functionality.)

Yeah it's only important for games using said API and thus only on OS's supporting it which means Windows 10 since even if there's interest in it from the OS users Microsoft themselves rarely backports tech, let alone these days when they're trying to get everyone to jump on to Windows 10, which has had varied results due to various circumstances heh.
(Windows 7 user base is apparently growing though. Very Happy )

Not just the D3D12 delay setting but the entire delay engine functionality of RTSS?

It's mandatory for any OS if you want the best possible compatibility between Afterburner/RTSS and other overlay software such as Steam, Origin and probably also Battle.net and UPlay and if needed injectors with OSD support such as ReShade.
(ReShade is for the most part fully compatible even without said tweak but it doesn't hurt to have it though Unwinder himself cautions on adding too much stuff to the triggers.)

(Default in previous versions was steam_api64.dll,igo64.dll and now it's only igo64.dll though I also added the default 32-bit files just as a precaution but it might not be needed if this issue is only for x64)

EDIT: It is also required for older versions of Afterburner but it's not really noticeable since it's in the config file by default then.
(It's been I think two years and a bit now since this issue began and Valve still hasn't fixed it on their end for Steam's overlay.)

(I'm not sure Valve will bother even if Unwinder now removed it since use of Afterburner is probably still only a minor part of the entire Steam community as a whole so having kept the config as it was might have been better but eh he does what he does, proper fix would be nice of course.)


EDIT: If you disable Origin, UPlay, Steam and Battle.net overlay functionality then it's not needed as said overlay won't initialize giving Afterburner full functionality over OSD initialization without any conflicts or other problems. Smile
(Big Picture Mode of Steam doesn't fully disable said overlay though and is also needed if you use a SteamPad or what they're called.)

Of MSI Afterburner 4.3.0 you mean, as in 4.3.0 beta #6 ?

Don't use that, upgrade to the latest release version or revert to 4.2.0 since that initial beta is somewhat buggy.
(There were about eight updates between that first version and the final release of 4.3.0, there's no advantage to staying on that beta over upgrading to the final release version of it.)

Also beta version of Afterburner have kill switches and will expire after a certain period of time and become unusable. (Generally you get a couple of months of time but they do stop eventually.)

Byebye phone authentication. Irritated me for so long, finally removed that shit. For some reason even had problems trying to boot RU locked game through VPN, while my phone was logged in through Wi-Fi in another country and therefor blocked it.

Fixed. Never turn it back on again

I don't bother with phone authentication, I just use Winauth as it has a confirm function for trades.

Lol, shit. Well.. Never bother to sell anything anyway, allthough its shit but prefer just loggin in with password only. The time I've already wasted in total generating new auth code, is too much. As I sometimes switch 5-6 times between accounts within 5 minutes for other reasons.
