That was it?
Don't get me wrong, it's nice game with multi-layered levels offering plenty of ways to navigate them, and the new abilities are fun, but, it feels like a chunk of the game is missing, and you're left with more questions than answers.
Also, there aren't many side missions, and the wrap-up is very dry, you watch news reports of your exploits spun by Eliza v2.0, wearing her hilarious outfit that makes her look like she doesn't have a neck.
7/10, good, but could have been, should have been, great.
Hopefully since they don't have to develop an engine from scratch again, it won't take them 5 years to deliver a sequel.
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

now you got me really curious where you were in Prague |
Sry mate, maybe I was a bit too harsh there I'm from Moravia myself so naturally, us rednecks from the lowlands never miss an oportunity to talk shit about the capitol
I do like some parts of the city, but find it to be overrun by shady foreigners, drug dealers, homeless people and tourists (in no particular order). I'd probably feel different if I lived there or came to visit once or twice in a lifetime, but as It stands, I find Prague a bit overrated, that's all.
So no hard feelings and sorry for derailing the thread |
oh that explains it i am originaly from countryside in south so back i the days i hated it too (went there once a yea to the most tourist places - it felt kinda overcrowded for a villager like me) Now after I visited some other (no-only) european capitals and mainly 7 years of studies and now working there , its different as ,I know the city muchmpre and came to like it and I don't often go to tourist-bait places or suspicious places with hobos or junkies (like the "Sherwood forest" around main train station ) so not much of a problem.
as for the overated cities I really liked for example London, Edinburg, Milan, Amsterdam and Instanbul , but on other hand I dont like Paris, Berlin, Bratislava, Rome, Rio and Barcelona
BTW: What does shady foreigner even mean?
To go back on topi c : i guess i fucked up the tutorial (have no ammo left in the save) ... cant even see how these canadians fucked the city up

I think that's available for most capitals anyway.
ontopic: I feel like some animations are weird, especially the one when Jensen hits the "weak structure" wall, looks superficial.

Yea, I know what you mean... I think your story reflects a lot of peoples' lives when it comes to life in Czech Republic. I too have a lot of friends who studied/lived/worked in Prague for some time (and I visited as much as I could) but I have to say that vast majority of them ended up returning homewards after a few years to live a less hectic life and start a family. Still I haven't found it in my heart to love the city and alas, I'm afraid It's going to stay that way To give an example of a nearby capitol that I really like, it would be Vienna - I try to go there every chance I get.
Shady foreigners in Prague = e.g. Russian mobsters and African drug dealers/pimps on Vaclavak. Judging by the Ubisoft's vison of the future Prague, it seems we're all gonna turn to peasants with Russian accents here.

Or I could just be remembering incorrectly again, haven't played the game in a while now so.
EDIT: I do remember aspect ratio being available though, I think? |
nope, didnt have an aspect ratio setting in my settings...so this was my only way to get circles instead of eggs..so to say...haha

I did a test on the newest version of the game and using custom settings (mostly maxed out but disabled Blur, DoF and reduced SSAO since the max is a bit ugly) I got:
DX11:
Average: 49.9
Minimum: 28.0
Max: 69.7
After running it a second time right away in DX11, Minimum climbed to 38.3, which brought Average up a tiny bit to 50.6. Max remained the same.
DX12:
Average: 55.2
Minimum: 43.3
Maximum: 73.2
So, that's about a 10% performance increase over DX11. But DX11 seems like maybe it would stutter when streaming new assets (based on that minimum FPS) or reaching new areas. DX12 didn't have that issue. I also tested DX12 before I tested DX11, so it didn't benefit at all from running Deus Ex previously. It simply didn't get that Minimum fps issue like DX11 did.
This is with AMD, I don't know how it behaves on Nvidia.

I tested this in two different ways. One is the Low preset, where everything is at the lowest possible. The other I had every setting at the lowest they can be before being disabled.
Lowest before disabled:
DX11:
Average: 66.4
Minimum: 51.2
Maximum: 86.5
DX12:
Average: 78.1
Minimum: 64.4
Maximum: 97.6
So that's a 18% improvement on average. 26% improvement on the minimum FPS tho, so it doesn't go nearly as low.
Lowest completely:
DX11:
Average: 86.4
Minimum: 62.2
Maximum: 118.2
DX12:
Average: 106.6
Minimum: 81.7
Maximum: 133.7
That's around 23% improvement on average, and 30% on the minimum the game drops to.

yep, AMD is gonna be beastly when dx12 takes full swing. I doubt nvidia, even if they improve their overhead, can get the same gap they have with dx 11.
or at least I hope that happens, as the prices can only get better that way.
