This remains the only AC game I haven't finished. Think about that what you will.

i'm the opposite. finished all of them except the first one. after 3 or 4 assasinations, i couldn't endure any more of those generic missions you are forced to do to unlock the main target.

Last AssCreed i finished was Black Flag.

Played Unity with the shit performance for not even an hour.

Haven't touched a single AC since then. As sadly it's just copy-paste gameplay with retarded filler-content anyways. And that's enough reason for me to not play the games, even if the story is so good.
And i doubt the next AC will be any different.

Did you quit because it became too difficult?

Wouldn't make sense releasing Syndicate twice Bob, it's going to be in Egypt now.

Come to think of it there's some similarities to Mafia 3 with a big open world to explore but to get to the fun story missions you have to do X number of minor favors or what to call them to basically - for this game. - get intel and the like on your targets before doing the assassination, which in my case usually devolved into a all out slaughter.

Assassins Creed 2 improved on this though by both improving the side activity content and making it a bit more diverse.
(And you could swim...)

EDIT: ...And well collectibles wise I guess instead of a 100 feather or flags it's a similar number of artwork, vinyls and mags in Mafia 3 Razz

Still hoping for a haytham kenway spin off game, or a templars creed game. it's boring being the delusional good guys. give me some stone cold, rational templar goodness. Me Gusta

I still cry when I remember playing the ass creed 3 intro sequence, jumping with joy I get to be a cool guy, and then spawning in connors ugly mug the next level Laughing

@Drowning_witch Didn't you play Assassin's Creed Rogue? That's the Templar one, WITH Haytham included, though not as protagonist. So essentially you could repeat AC III as Templar.

yeah, I did, but it didn't capture the templar cool like the ass creed 3 intro did for me. rogue always felt like a black flag expansion to me, and black flag is pretty low on my ass creed scale, even though I enjoyed most of it.

Yep, maybe over the full WW2 timeline. Would actual be a pretty cool setting i bet. Very Happy

Wasn't there some WW2 cutscene in a previous AssCreed even?

Syndicate was way better than Unity imo.

Played this for 13h, i cant believe what a good job ubifail did with this game; after that unity bullshit, this seems miles away. I havent played much of the story yet, just liberated neighbourhoods and did sidestuff, but if the main plot is interesting, i would put this game on near the top spot next to ac2.

The side content is pretty much repetitive but somehow for me its a lot of fun because the stealth mechanic is much funnier and easier than the other games; plus you got crafting, skilltrees, fight clubs and those charriots and everything related to them - which imo its an awesome and welcome addition; also you got the rope launcher a la batman, the trains and that river thames which is a lot of fun to cross.

Graphically too its an improvement over unity, which already looked very good, but this one is even better, with the right sweetfx.reshade, you can drool sometimes at the city. And about the city, its no longer boring or looks the same, the amount of details is insane. They also worked and improved the pathfinding and char movement which was a disaster in unity.

The AI is only thing that didnt changed, still hillarious most of the times Laughing

Overall the game is very good imooooo, my main annoyance is that sometimes it doesnt feel like an ass creed game, but a good stealth game.

yeah, the grappling hook pretty much eliminates vertical climbing, which is signature for the series.

Finished the main game and the Ripper DLC in a ever ongoing backlog clearing project.

Holy crap I forgot how much problems the combat causes since it's absolutely required to chain into these lengthy combo attacks and if you stop or are stopped at any point the enemy just won't fucking die. (This includes having his chest stabbed, slashed throat and even stabbed in the head.)

Ripper DLC in particular makes it even more difficult since you are locked into using knuckle dusters which are far slower and usually just incapacity whereas the staffs were a mix of both and kukri's (preferred.) were lethal and quick.

Even shooting doesn't work reliably since as soon as a enemy runs up close your character will holster the throwing weapon / gun and refuse to use it. (And there's some pretty big mobs of them in Ripper to facilitate the need for fear gadgets.)

That aside though besides the combat and the laughable caricature evil villains it wasn't that bad a game, performance is still problematic even with reduced settings and the lighting is downplayed a bit though Unity was restricted to a locked time of day setting with four or so different times whereas this is dynamic and even includes weather differences such as rain and fog.
(A certain bonus post-game scene in WW1 being static brings back some of the lighting seen in Unity though.)

Well that's that, can't believe I forgot about the combat being so overly reliant on combo finishing every enemy but with a bit of trial and error even that is manageable ha ha.

Now then, Egypt next in one or two years?
(Complete with appearance-only DLC skins for a sands of time dagger, water sword, princess and prince cameo outfits and Moses in a role as a sage. Razz )
(Pharaoh Tut as a DLC? Quite a few to choose from I guess so no idea where the game will take place, early or late Egyptian empire era or maybe in-between somewhere.)

Pyramid hideout complete with cash-shop furniture purchases?

Still want to see some Oriental setting though, Syndicate already opened up a bit for India but nope, Egypt next supposedly, maybe the puzzle tombs will be back or some weird undead curse...zombies are popular these days and I guess that goes for undead Egyptian mythology too.
(Cat godess Bast or what her name was perhaps, Minerva or Juno or whoever is a bit too plain even if she's starting to turn into something like Shodan because originality fuck that. Razz )

EDIT: Well the combat has it's share of complaints.
https://www.reddit.com/r/assassinscreed/comments/3ybgyq/whats_the_deal_with_syndicates_combat_no_spoilers/

AC III did it pretty well, AC I ended up being a bit too reliant on counter partway through the game and AC II I don't quite remember, expanded a bit on AC I and the heavy weapons were fun far as I remember, neat finishers too without having to work through a lengthy combo attack of animations before the tosser finally decides to die properly. Razz

EDIT: AC IV mixed in a bit more ranged combat I guess what with multiple pistols although up close was still viable, Adewwale decided on going blunderbuss instead of carrying around a unwieldy amount of single pistols in his little side story. Very Happy

EDIT: Well the combat starts out well and nice and feels visceral and marketing word here but after a while (A few hours at most.) it become something like "thwack-thwack-thwack." as you hit enemies upwards of 10+ time all the while thinking "Just. Fucking. Die. Already." (And then some more thwacking as you hit the guy hoping your character will finally tire of it and just killing whatever enemy type your currently attacking.)
