Starting from scratch now in survival mode.

It's another game. Survival mode is great. This is now how it should have been at launch.

Did they added multiplayer or is it still bullshit?

No multiplayer so far, but you can leave some notes in your base for people, so if they cross your planet can read them. Everything Went Better Than Expected

Holly shit "Survival" is hard Surprised
I mean really really hard if you start on a not so friendly planet.

Once you have your ship flying; NEVER land without a stock of plutonium in your ship.

I got stuck in a death loop... Landed my ship at a POI (was a... manufacturing building (one with the blast door you have to destroy) -> Forgot that take off takes 75% of fuel instead of 25% it takes on normal mode. Could not take off -> went to explore to find plutonium -> no luck (the tank to ~60%) died of exposure (managed to transfer all loot to ship always, so I didn't lose any materials). Respawned with 1 hp 0 env. prot and 0 lifesupport -> health ticks every ~30 seconds or so + one immediately on spawn -> I spawn get a health update that takes away the shield -> I have 30 seconds to find plutonium / thaumium or other crap -> no luck. Repeated ~30 times until I gave up. (you can hide in your ship, but your health / suit don't regenerate. Thermal protection does, but depending on planet, that's useless (mine was an ice planet)

And same goes for saving ANYWHERE but at the ship. Restarted the game, got materials for the signal booster, built one and searched for habitable base -> 10 minutes away, Started hiking there picking up crap on the way -> 5 min left I found a save spot and thought, well why not. Died ~1 minute away from the base due to bad luck (+ thaumium / zinc / platinum / plutonium for a while so I could not recharge anything) -> I restart at the spot I saved and died IMMEDIATELY. Like spawning directly into death screen. Constantly.

So yea, the survival is nice addition and challenging, but you can mess up your game totally, very easily.

Quote:
Taking into account the above points, we considered that the overall impression of the ad was consistent with gameplay and the footage provided, both in terms of that captured by Hello Games and by third parties, and that it did not exaggerate the expected player experience of the game," the ASA said, concluding its ruling. "We therefore concluded that the ad did not breach the Code."

FU, was about to post that! Mad
Was half expecting them to get away with it anyway, for most of the stuff pointed out they could simply use the "but it's procedurally generated, it just happened that we got that planet/creatures/whatever for the trailer" argument and it likely would work.
And it did

After reading through that article partially, I must come to the conclusion Hello Games did what they do best. Lie to the ASA, and they bought it.

Steam Store has become worst if you are looking for real gameplay and screenshots of a game. It's not NMS only. Almost every game has only stupid trailers, cuts from video scenes and screenshots from these scenes or rendered photos. In best case there will be 30 secs gameplay and 4-5 real gameplay screens altogether. Only smaller and indie games a excluded from this "rule".

I guess it's like this because nobody deletes old content from pre-order times. This really has to change after a game is released or playable in Early Access.

Game is better and looks nicer. Enjoying the "demo" for now,
... I am style waiting for a below 30€ price drop.

Also, I forgot how annoying these milestones notifications and long press for action are Mad

I know it's like talking to stones, but this whole ASA thing is really bad. Makes a precedent. Steam now has its hands free to turn into a scamware shop, much like tons of games are being sold on Google Play (with CGI'd pictures and false characteristics) Rolling Eyes

For what it's worth steam has made/will make some changes (probably) based on all this BS:

816,537 sales, im guessing more than 90% of those are preorders since no sane person would have bought it after the shitstorm it created; so there's your problem, devs are laughing their ass off and bathe in $ Laughing

It was to be expected though, base building is the magical word that can revive anything, especially on Steam. Couple it with more false promises, and the masochistic gamer 2016 will instantly forget, tabula rasa mode, proceeding to buy more lube in order to facilitate the procedure. It's like politics xD
