Agreed. The demo was great. Not sure how many missions the final version has, but I really liked the demo.

I think Commandos 2/3 had better animations.
Will give it a try, nonetheless.

@Bob Barnsen
Yeah so? It was ages ago, it was not my favorite genre, so I totally forgot about these games. .And I haven't watched any videos of this game, just read a description and saw some screenshots.
Anyways, I've played the demo a bit and it's commandos indeed..or a stealth based real time JA..
I'd prefer playing solo tbh.. The older I get the more I hate managing a whole group of characters..

Reviews so far: http://opencritic.com/game/3310/shadow-tactics-blades-of-the-shogun?tab=1
Quote: | A glorious return for the hardcore tactical stealth genre. |
NZGamer 8.5/10
Quote: | What happens when you mix stealth action, tactical decisions, and beautiful art? You get Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. |
GameSkinny 8/10
Quote: | Each level takes plenty of skill, and you’re given some great abilities and weapons to execute your attack, even if the levels take a long time to complete. |
God is a Geek 8/10
Quote: | Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is a brilliant revival of the "hardcore stealth tactical games" formula. The german developer Mimimi Productions overcome the tradition by offering some new features that surely modernizes the original gameplay. Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is fun and challenging, with some technical issues. |
Everyeye.it 8/10
Quote: | Shadow Tactics is a unique exploration of the stealth genre with a great amount of polish, but if you’re going to dive in, be prepared for just how deep the water is. |
TheSixthAxis 7/10

Not at all, but you can play it with a controller if you miss the console controls.

This stresses the fuck out of my 980ti for some reason, makes a weird noise too. I better chill and see if perhaps an update fixes it or something.

@EternalBlueScreen
That's strange. I enabled power saving, limited fps to 60 via riva tuner (vsync was acting strange, dropping below 60) and the GPU runs at 600-800MHz to maintain 60 fps @1920x1200
Maybe you got a bitcon miner from isodemo?
PS The game seems to be really good.. I will most definitely buy it when it goes on sale..The full price in my region is not what I would pay for a game like this..+ I got some financial problems atm

This is a common thing with Unity engine games I'm afraid. I had this in almost every single one of them. They squeeze your GPU so hard you almost think your rig is going to explode, even when nothing particularly demanding is happening on your screen.
Capping your framerate to 60 FPS or enabling V-Sync is the only way to prevent your GPU from going crazy.

You can use software to hard-cap the temperature of your video-card. I use nvidiainspector for this and it completely got rid of my overheating worries (in most games I play, I do not care about fps at all but I don't want my laptop overheating).

GOTY for me. Just brilliant. Yesterday I was about to install Silent Storm (again) and I accidentally saw this released. Yes it's not turn based as Silent Storm but the strategic elements are great.
I will still install Silent Storm after I finish Shadow Tactics.

Anyone with the yarr version try the update after the installation? It installs version 1.08 I think but offers to update to 1.12. Wasn't sure if it was a drm free version or what so I skipped it.
