funny how Square JP comminity manager says they will try their best to hit same date and two days later the western Square just directly states later 2017
Update: a Square Enix rep has confirmed that the PC release date will be the same as the PS4 date in the west – March 7 in North America and March 10 in Europe and Australia.
Update 2: The Square Enix rep who confirmed the PC release date would fall on the same day as the PS4 version in the West was unfortunately misinformed: officially, there's not yet a release date for Nier: Automata on PC, though it's definitely coming some time next year.

Obviously it's going to be 6 months delay. Everyone seems to be learning from Rockstar and GTAV because all the motherfuckers gonna doubledip.
Rating Summary: This is an action game in which players assume the role of androids attempting to save Earth from extraterrestrial machines. Players use swords, spears, lances, and lasers to destroy enemy robots in melee-style combat. Large explosions and realistic gunfire are frequently heard during combat. Some sequences depict blood and additional acts of violence against human-like characters: a man impaled through the chest with a sword, resulting in large blood-splatter effects; character lying in pools of blood after getting stabbed. Some characters wear revealing outfits with partially exposed buttocks; one male character is depicted nude (without genitalia). The words “f**k” and “sh*t” are heard in the dialogue.
- I really don't like this fixed camera when she goes out of dat building in the beginning and then later on.... It makes things much harder combat and platforming-wise considering it's in 3D. They should have made the whole game playable with a camera behind your back..
- Damn..they even have a fixed top down camera ..Jeez... This is a major fail... This game should be played only as a third person action game not like this..
- I don't like locations design.. it sucks..Poor colors and blur all over the place are pretty bad too..
- Extremely bulletspongy bosses... meh
PS IGN actually considers constantly changing camera angle (third person, top down etc) as a positive thing.. Thank you but no thank you. This alone will make me drop my rating by 1-1.5 points.
I hope we'll be able to set a fixed third person camera via cheatengine..+ reshade is a must

The first Nier also had fixed camera angles so it's probably fair to assume the dev's consider it a staple of the series, it's pretty much pointless to complain about that you don't complain about it in oldschool RE or other japanese games like DmC either it's just part of the overall design so deal with it.
1) I know nothing about the first Nier. it was released only on consoles
2) The last DMC was a proper third person action game. I hope the next DMCs will be the same.

I do. This fixed camera shit is not welcome on my beloved PC
And having 3 fixed and totally different camera angles(third person\side\top)? Fuck that. I bet it was made for peasants so that they don't have to struggle with the fast paced combat having their controllers in one hand and hamburgers in another.

It was mostly born out of technical limitations cause they used 2d backgrounds with 3d models a lot in the early days of 3d games latter it carried over as a homage to that era of games (DMC was originally RE4 as you may know for example), also the Nier games are action RPGs not pure action games.
Anyway you are just as ignorant as ever
Oh I know the history of games. I played even the ones made pre 1990.
If not supporting a limited, useless and harmful to gameplay "homage" makes me "as ignorant as always" then so be it. "Traditions" born of technical limitations must be wiped out.

That mind set led us to a lot of derpy shit these days so no thx i like that stuff.
Devs should let us decide how we can play a game like this. It's not hard at all to implement. If you want to play the derp oh-those-were-the-days-of-beautiful-technical-limitations-huh-huh oldfag way then you play on default settings. For those who prefer a proper way of playing that kind of games with a full and precise camera control there must be an option you can enable\disable in the settings..
I've only watched the first game, but those side-scrolling and shmup sections gave it a lot of charm and uniqueness. I'm glad they brought them back because yes, they're cool, and yes, they are a staple of NieR.
Just finished the demo, the game has absolutely perfect controls, response, movement and camera.
Camera switches to side scrolling in areas with alot of stairs, to speed up the traversal so you dont have to turn around a free camera, and switches to top down view in bullet hell areas so you can easily dodge the bullets and get a good view.
Platinum games have mastered their craft and nobody can even touch them in their genre.

The demo doesn't really give you access to the rpg aspects, but you get alot of different materials from fallen enemies for upgrades probably. I will grind the shit out of this game.
