So I didn't play the game for some time and today I decited to play some but I can't. I get "Please insert correct DVD-ROM" error every time, no matter what I do. I had this problem before but at least it worked after few times with DT4 and SR7.Stop.
I uninstalled alcohol, blindwrite, DT4, reinstalled DT4, reinstalled game: nothing helps. I cant even use SR7.Stop as it says "nothing to hide". Any ideas?

Yes, there's a lot of things that makes nfs:mw lack what could've made it a great game.
1. Catch up.. Now, this is nothing but an excuse for an unfinished AI.
2. Complete lack of settings to affect how it looks and runs.
3. Ridiculous lack of balance between racing & milestones, most blacklists are too easy, the later milestones (not speedtraps, but the accumulation milestones) are ridiculously difficult.
4. Console controls in-menu. WTH, using 9 & 0 to navigate and spin in various menus. LAME
5. Total lack of content. Use the showroom, and you don't see anything but the car, and must use console mapped 9 & 0 to even spin the damn thing. No info about the car model whatsoever.
6. Numerous crash bugs, buggy police AI, buggy race AI etc.
All this just tells me that NFS:MW was not only rushed, it was cut off from development when they console ports reached the end of their development cycle, and the pc version was patched together to be runnable (which it barely was).
I beat #1 so I've seen the whole game, and there's so many things wrong with it that I'm pissed off @ EA for rushing it to meet the market at the same time as the console versions went to manufacturing.
The graphics engine and the physics/driving stuff is excellent, but we all know those aren't enough to make a great game. I had a lot of fun playing it as well as a lot of frustration. What annoys me the most is that the game could've been awesome.. But thanks to EA, it's crippled and buggy because some executive said "We've GOT to have ALL platforms sent to manufacturing at that date".... Fekking publishers, ruining a completely good game by cutting the development team short by 2-5 months.. and firing their QA team (there's no sign they sent it to a QA team in the first place)........

Dieser "crack" der im netz auftauchte ist in der tat eine wilde mischung aus Demo-Code und JAP-Retail.
Die Idee ist sicherlich nicht schlecht, aber ganz dumm ist EA ja auch wieder nicht.. (doch, weil sie NOCH
kein Starforce verwenden..)
Es gibt HiDDEN-Checks mitten im Game, nicht sichtbar, aber dennoch merkbar - vergleichbar ist das ganze mit FADE.
Entweder das Game crashed immer an bestimmten stellen oder die Gegner fliegen ploetzlich mal mit 400kmh an euch
vorbei, schoen is das nicht..
Zustande kommt das so:

oh my god, it's soooo hard to put an exe to win2k compatibily, isn't it?
Sorry for that comment, but I don't understand why you guys can unplug your ODD-Drives to get a crappy starforce-game running, but not put some exe to win2k compatibily to get it work..
I WiLL NOT UNDERSTAND YOU, SORRY..
You won't need any crackfix, and you won't get one i bet. (what for, are 3 clicks too much asked to get a game working? Go buy the game then..)
Why this problem can occur:
It's kinda hard to crack all safedisc-apis as there are about 450 to be patched in every protected file.
One api "could" be the reason for this problem & it's too much to ask a crew to check ALL 450 apis for errors when you can fix it with 3 clicks (wow, so much efford..)
VOLKSWAGEN, what is this?
Afaik this crew consists of 5 or 6 german pupils, 15-17 of age. Think of the time they invested just to crack ONE safedisc-game.
Do you have a CLUE how long it takes to properly crack ALL the APis?
Do you have a CLUE how long it takes to properly remove ALL those fuckup-hidden-ingame-checks?? (well EA is used to that CRAP => Sims2 House-Building-"Bug")
All hidden checks (like 400kmh-"bug) are removed.
One APi hasn't been properly cracked - and you want to complain?
Buy the Game or simply CRACK iT ON YOUR OWN.
Then you can COMPLAiN!
