I'm pretty sure your lady will like it, it's indeed puzzle/exploration game. There are also fights, but nothing annoying. At least that's what i observed when watching guys playing it on twitch.
Controls are clunky as hell sToOz. Inside is a cheap indie game but its controls are a masterpiece compared to TLG (probably helps that Inside runs at 60fps too).
I suggest you play TLG on a PS4 Pro for now, cuz its framerate is indeed a major disappointment.
Never though I'd say this but it feels like playing a PC game (aka not optimized, and where you would go into settings to try to get 1 fps here and there)...
Played 7 hours on my non-Pro console. I loved every minute of it! Sure the framerate drops occasionally but the majority of the time it's been fine for me. Hardly game breaking and I wouldn't let it put anyone off buying it either. I did notice there was a patch after installing. Not sure if that was meant to improve the framerate or not.
The main controls itself are IMHO fine-ish. But the camera... good lord... the acceleration and/or smoothing... It takes forever for the camera to even start turning. The ramp up time is insane.
Going back to FFXV post-game for now. Hoping they will offer a different camera in a patch but not holding my breath.

The game itself is just as awesome as expected!
Hmm thanks for the impressions. I usually find your impressions/taste in games to be similar.
sorry for derailing the topic but you should check out "let it die", it's a free game by suda51
No offense but headshot has pretty low standard sadly
Even walking dead survival instinct was an instabuy to him
That being said this one is good though
But obviously headshot has low standards in term of frame rates. And that's coming from someone (me) who doesn't play on PC anymore and only play on consoles.
That says a lot how terrible the frame rate is....

lol Walking Dead Survival Instinct?! How old is that game?! I guess I do have low standards. I honestly believe the framerate concerns are overrated. I must admit before playing the game I was having serious doubts that the game would be unplayable until I get a PS4 Pro or I have to wait for a miracle patch but this is not the case at all.
If you expect 30fps to 60fps you will be disappointed. I would say the game runs at less than 30fps but rarely dips below 20fps. Given most games are 30fps this for me is not a problem.
My only concern with this kind of game is the replay value. As amazing as it is unless there is some DLC, which is unlikely, I doubt I will keep the game once I've finished it. As far as I know there are no collectibles or much hidden that can be found. The game itself feels more like an experience than a game but a highly recommended experience.
incredible game so easy to look past the frame drops
+1
Been playing for about 10 hours and it's just amazing. With the exception of Duke Nukem Forever it just goes to show how incredible games can be with a ridiculous amount of time in development. I must be close to the end but I don't want it to end lol. I take back what I said about the lack of replay value after having seen the list of trophies, of which I've just got my first! I've been playing about 10 hours and have 1% of trophies?! lol.
I love the way beast is so inquisitive and hesitates. The AI programming is probably the best I've ever seen in a game, coupled with stunning animation make it so lifelike. I'm just constantly in awe every minute I play the game. There have been so many memorable scenes of genius design and gameplay so far that Im calling GOTY.
I've not even seen the credits roll and this is a 10/10 game.

For some reason I thought it was consolefr that made the let it die thread
Anyone finished this game? How long does it take? There is a trophy for finishing it in less than 30 hours. 30 hours?! There's also one for finishing it in less than 5 hours!
Spoiler:
I just had the lengthy cutscene which shows how the game started when Trico was chained up in the cave! It was beautiful! I felt like I was watching a feature length anime
Finished the game! Took me more than 5 hours but less than 15 lol. I would imagine 12-13 hours. Got stuck a lot but usually found my way after 10-15 minutes. So many epic moments. Stellar game and I'm sticking with 10/10.
Spoiler:
Because aliens? WTF was the game about?! Anyone want a spoilered discussion?
I remember seeing the caption on the screen during my playthrough and it was quite confusing to be honest because I never saw nothing! It also occurred at a different point in my game to the video.
What ya expect from a PS2 engine? Yeah framerate is sometimes really dipping under 30 FPS.. Controls are okay, but the camera is just laggy and slow. Game itself is pretty good, liking it so far. Well if Team Ico actually had some decent tech programmers it would be a lot better. Game is a ported PS2 to PS3 to PS4 game and that is what you get here. Well maybe next gen they'll remaster it and will run at 1080p 60fps or 4K/60fps : )).
finished it today 10/10 from me (same as ICO, SOTC) it's just a brilliant piece of art, it's so good that you can look past the technical issues on normal ps4. it's an unforgettable rollercoaster of emotion and it affected me like no other game or piece of media has done before i couldn't speak after the credits were done rolling.
going in i saw the complaints people had about controls, ai & frame rate
frame rate is mostly stable but dropped to like sub 10 in one area of the game (albeit briefly), if you're not a complete frame whore you'll get past this with no worries when you look at the technology on display, trico might be the best looking character to exist in a game (possibly the most expensive too)
controls are identical to shadow of the colossus so if you are familiar with that you'll have no issues in this game. it's a team ICO game, as soon as i had control of the boy I had flash backs to SOTC and everything felt just right. the controls do have a learning curve but invest time into them, don't just cry and give up for fucks sake.
AI - i had no problems getting trico to do what I wanted him/her to do, maybe i just catch on quicker than other people? trico has direct commands which you can issue via r1 + x, more often than not simply holding r1 and pointing in a direction will get trico to move/jump up. trico does seem to disobey occassionally or get confused, i believe this is similar to agro in sotc disobeying commands to feel more life like.
petting trico and making it happy, it will actually take you in the direction you need to go in. after i stroked it up it got up and started taking me around the world, i refuse to believe this isn't intended. i hope i'm not crazy
the biggest no no is spamming commands in this game, if you start mashing buttons and chucking 100s of commands at the beast it shuts down. you need to be precise, it can take practice to get used to the controls/directions but once you have it down you won't have any problems navigating the world. do not spam commands or you won't be moving anywhere any time soon, lol.
