You can use the helicopter to get around the motherbase but it's not exactly that fast either.

Far as missions and such go you do get some better more competent staff later on (Unless you used a Ground Zero save and got a couple of S ranks from 100% that straight off.) which speeds up development but it's still a grind and then there's stuff like staff having poor traits that have to be balanced and the entire second act is almost nothing but re-doing earlier missions just for those few last story related ones to unlock.

EDIT: Oh and yeah the containers were nerfed early on so you only get a fraction of the materials you used to get from airlifting those far as I remember.

Motherbase sucks

The one you can see in Peacewalker is far less retarded and takes up nowhere near as much unnecessary space

The game as a whole was a massive disappointment. It had amazing mechanics, but Africa sucked, as did the story, and it became way too repetitive before too long.

Now that I've played FFXV, I'm starting to see what people mean when they say not every series should go open world just because they can.

The Japanese tend to suck at open world anyway because they're less allergic to grinding than gamers in the West so they tend to use grinding to fill in the open spaces. Even classics such as Xenoblade suffer from it.

Final Fantasy 1 on NES. Razz

Barely any money and the entire party is super weak at the start requiring wandering around outside town hoping to survive the initial encounters while backtracking and alternating paying for staying at the inn to heal and getting some equipment.

Then in the updated re-releases you can just steamroll all the way to the first boss and take him out without any major difficulties though on the other hand many of the bugs making the NES version even harder are now actually fixed so it's possible the original wasn't meant to be quite so tough.

I guess FF10 on PS2 (or perhaps the PS3 HD update more so.) could also work as a example, completely linear walking along a path for almost up until the final dungeon and then you get the airship and can do some 100 or so hours of work if you intend to tackle the side content. Razz
(Or you can go straight to the final boss and finish the game in ~3 or so hours heh.)

Far as Metal Gear goes though I don't know why they changed things around so much compared to the earlier installments.

How is the motherbase online thing these days, is anyone playing it?
I firewalled the game during my playthrough when I got tired of hackers invading me.

Do you have to complete the prologue to access Metal Gear Online?

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

I played Phantom Pain last christmas and I kinda enjoyed it. I read before how works unlocking story missions in Act II works so I didn't have to play previous story missions on harder difficulty. It had countless flaws and felt rushed towards end for sure. Mechanics were solid, level design too. There was D-Dog and heartbreaking end of Quiet's story... Kojima is the man who sold the world:)

But her face already looks rather muddy from all the bukakke sessions.

I haven't watched them but I think the first one is the announcement and this one is some random guy whacking off while reviewing the video, same thumbnail though.
(But being Youtube without it being educational that's probably about all they can show for a porn video without getting it deleted.)

The review is by Jim Sterling. He has "reviewed" a couple of their game porn parodies before (the last one was the Final Fantasy 15). It's good for a laugh.

Well, I first played it when it released, and, because I carelessely updated it during what I thought was mid-game (around mission #27), and following the subsequent corruption of my saves, I dropped it.

I reinstalled it and went through it again this WE. What a game!
Ridiculous yet engaging story, GREAT visuals and challenges, entertaining as hell.
A well-rounded, well-made game.

YET, I have a few gripes:
-The "children" part of the game is the most off-putting one ever: I HATED that mission where you have to deal with a pack of feral child cunts while carrying one (they don't listen, fuck up everything, die for nothing; REALLY the WORST. Then you have to save those fuckers, and then they fuck you over some more. RAAAAAAH). All in the name of some IMO misplaced moral duty. Yuck.
It really put me off big time.

-The obviously console-purposed controls. I have a keyboard and ten fingers, motherfucker, let me use them. I don't see the point of having to press shift+z+left click to have Boss make a 1m jump. Also, the hints are in derpsole hints: "Press R1" whaaaat?

As a non-MGS fan (by ignorance, not design), I still had a blast.
It truely gives the open-space genre a gold-standard feel.
It's what the Far Cry serie, for example, should aim for.

Just got a few missions left to go, then I'll tell you.

But again on the
PRO SECTION:
The game, altough console minded, proves to be well optimised PC-wise.
It NEVER crashed, it's performance are well above what I should have expected; no stutter, low mem usage, etc...
I left it for one night with the PC that went into hibernation. Stated my comp again, the game left me where I was straight up.
No stutter, no bullshit. You left me as is a day ago? Welcome back, jump straight in.
I liked that a lot. They didn't have PC in mind, yet they did the port, hardware wise, flawlesly, IMO.

EDIT: I thought I was one or two ones to the end, but I think I'm in one of these "chase the golden bear" or whatever. You know, those missions designed to make you spend some time until they tell you "A GIANT FLYING MOOSE IS TAKING OVER MOTHER BASE" or whatever, I imagine.
I'll tell you later, I'm gonna sleep for now.

I'm asking because i have the game still installed (even bought during some price-error / very good sale), but haven't really played it that much yet.

While i also enjoyed the open world aspect of the bit i played, i didn't really had much motiviation to continue playing. As from what i read the second half of the game is basically copy-paste of the first missions, and the "ending" is shit.
