Saw it last night, disjointed opening with to many characters and places introduced in short sequenses(a bit like the suicide squad opening without the music video montage).
But overall I liked it-7/8 out of 10.
Probalbly my favourite after the original 3 (although they shaped my childhood so gets extra nostalgia points )

Much better than TFA, too many planet close ups then short scene, then switch to another planet. Was kinda annoying since it highlighted one of my beefs with the Star Wars planets in that they're all kinda just one kind of climate and what do people even eat in these desolate wastelands?
But overall it was good. Did not feel like a Star Wars film, more of a darker take. Wonder what the original was like, would have preferred a darker film.
Also people in the theater being dismayed at how things ended, but like, that was kind of the obvious conclusion given the events of Ep 4

The Jedi Order was ruined as a concept in the prequels.
Let us hope Luke can rebuild it, maybe train Rey and she can rebuild the future Order.

Liked it, I think 7/10 is fair enough.
I think it had too much stupid action scenes and some shitty actors but Vader trumps all.

I think that if you are a real star wars fan and have read the various books, played the games then you will be open minded towards alternate stories set in the star wars universe. The start of the movie took a while to get going but it picked up half way through and I enjoyed it more than the force awakens, although the end was a little depressing.

The temptation is high, but I'll have to wait for the not-so-glorious isomkv as per usual. With my condition of forcefully exiled from cinemas because of the dubbing, I always have to build myself a virtual wait-immune dome for movies like this one, and accept that I'll likely be the last one to watch it. Feels liberating though, in strange hype-free whatever way xD

http://www.popsugar.com/entertainment/Who-Plays-Darth-Vader-Rogue-One-42858375
Quote: | Once again, James Earl Jones lent his baritone voice to the villain, but who's actually under the helmet? Turns out, there are two guys who play him in the movie. The first is Daniel Naprous, a stuntman who has worked on Game of Thrones and several of the Harry Potter films. He shared the role of Darth Vader with Spencer Wilding, an actor who has appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy (as "Mean Guard") and Wrath of the Titans as a minotaur. |
Weird how he is played by two different actors.
May the NFOrce be with you always.

So what exactly was so good about this movie? I just don't get it. That cast... That fucking cast... A fucking kung fu jedi? Just shoot me already. So much of this was not star wars. I liked the powerful ending scene, that's about it.

Why do all the people who record and upload videos from new movies have cameras from the early 1940s?

Force sensitive but not really a Jedi, I think.
I liked it for not being Star Wars, but being a movie set in the Star Wars universe. I did not like the classic sure fire get the audience to laugh disney formula sprinkled throughout though.
I'd like something like a bounty hunter focused movie (but not hobo fett), or a scoundrel one (but not solo), or maybe something set in the old republic if that era is still a thing in the disney universe, just to show other sides / aspects of the Star Wars universe. Maybe even feature a planet with multiple climates? Always my beef with Star Wars is that what the hell do people eat when they all reside in barren wasteland planets?
But basically just think of this as the film equivalent of Star Wars: Dark Forces, back when Kyle wasn't a Jedi.
