I can still flash some roms, just that anything I flash won't boot. Just gives me a black screen and a steady led-light. As I can't enter the OS I can't even unlock the bootloader so I can't sideload custom recovery nor custom kernels.
I've now spent 2 hours on this and it's just me venting as I'll give it a shot some time later.

im atm not into flashing androids devices, must think a bit about it

but if it helps you a bit: if it would have been a windows phone -> there is no way to completely kill them. a dead usb flash is always possible Wink (unless you are stupid and flash a wrong engineering bootloader onto the device Razz but even then it should be still recoverable)

Nope, tried to update to cm14.1 without using one of the custom kernels (it was just in a loop while booting) and I did a twrp recovery but that maybe did something to the baseband where the sim-card wasn't found. So I tried reverting back to older roms and then I totally fudged it. Cool Face
2 hours so far, yay....

It's ok, I'll figure it out eventually as I'm not in the mood of buying a new phone. Mad

There must be a way to fix it if you can flash it still. You should seek help on those specialised android dev forums.

Yeah dude, as long as you still can get into the bootloader you are fine. And when you can still enter twrp even better. Can't you just get your original ROM and flash that? Otherwise hit the xda-developers.com forums for your device and get some help.

The closest I ever got to a hard brick was with a Samsung Galaxy device a friend had; there were apparently two variants of it out there, one easily flashable and one where you first had to reflash the bootloader (which I didn't know). After flasing it wrongly, the only way to boot it into the bootloader was to get a very specific resistor and bridge two of the micro-usb contacts. Man what an adventure to get that friends phone working again Very Happy

@Xenthalon

For some reason, whatever I flash it just gives me a black screen on boot or keeps bootlooping.
It's weird as fuck and I can't figure out why it's doing that.

But I don't get it, what does karma have to do with me bricking my phone... o.O
I mean, they could have said "rumplestiltskin likes coffe" and it would have the same meaning as "karma is a bitch" in this context.

What would have been more appropriate would have been this;

Good news everyone!
I got my phone back, turns out that something one the mainboard was kaput and to replace the whole thing.
Oneplus's customer care isn't that bad, took like 10 days all in all. ^_^

After hearing about One+'s crappy customer service I wasn't expecting anything so this was quite a surprise. Very Happy
