I hope now it will easier for the devlopers to port it to Linux, android etc.. Or even patch to remove the 'D'.. It's pretty pointless to keep it at this point.

Inside’s Sound Was Recorded Through A Human Skull
Quote: | Sounds and music for Inside [official site] were recorded through a real human skull.
Vibrations rattled the skull so much that its teeth fell out.
No one’s saying whose skull it is/was.
Yep, sounds and music for Playdead’s grim platformer were played through a (severed, defleshed) human skull and recorded with contact microphones to eerie them up, audio director Martin Stig Andersen explains in a post on Gamasutra. He’s mentioned this before, all casual like, but here drills down into it (the technique, not the bone). And he has photos of the skull. And sound samples. It is all quite good.
“I had the basic idea of trying to recreate sounds as they would sound if they were happening inside your head,” he says, explaining that sounds resonating inside our bodies and bones changes them. “That was the curious thought that led me to acquire a human skull and experiment with it.”
As one does.
So he hooked the skull and lower jaw up to contact microphones and played them some songs. Even aside from the ace effect it had on sounds, I am so into the whole idea of this. A little incidental black magic never hurt anyone.
However realistic the initial inspiration was, the end result is ace. Following strange fancies can take you wonderful places.
Andersen says:
“The end result, after the post-processing, is generally a bit creepy and cold. The sound has almost a chill about it. Eventually all the teeth fell out of the skull because of the vibrations, but while they were still there they created this small vibrating sound that I think was unsettling but also strangely familiar to people. Because we all know it, in a way.” |

That's great and all but i don't really see that as a win it's been a while since the game released and it was cracked as well so at this point they get more out of it to remove it since they actually might get some new buyers from that namely people who didn't buy the game so far cause they despise intrusive DRM shit like Denuvo.
Denuvo did what it's supposed to do: prevent day 1 Piracy, every month after that is just a bonus, i can allrdy see those guys using Denuvo in their next game as well.

They got nothing to lose by removing Denuvo 'officially'. Au contraire, some people will probably buy it just out of principle. Like maybe to prove a point against Denuvo...

Yeah, it's such an incredibly captivating journey, the grim atmosphere really penetrates through your bones.
Definitely should have been awarded with the Whoa award on Steam, for *that* specific part near the end. It's like the virtual representation of a satisfying anti-stress ball, yet surrounded by depression, a weird conflicting feeling that only our beloved gaming can provinde.

Playdead (Limbo, INSIDE) co-founder paid $7.2M to leave company after power struggle
Quote: | People probably already know that Dino Patti, co-founder of Playdead, left the studio with the other co-founder Arnt Jensen staying back in July 2016. Yesterday in the Danish financial news paper Børsen it was revealed that there had been quite a messy divorce between the two with lawyers and having to buy out the co-founder. Here are the Cliff's Notes version (loosely translated)
- The conflict started in 2015 when Patti felt that "the last couple of years it has been a bit silent at the office for my temper. You make a new game every fourth or sixth year, so not much is going on" (my translation)
- The resolution to the conflict broke down over who owned the rights of the games
- Since 2015 the two creators were not on speaking terms and only communicated through lawyers where each party tried to gain control of the company
- On the 10th of November 2015 Arnt Jensen wrote that "after heavy consideration, I have to find other avenues to continue my creative activities through" (my translation)
- This shocked Patti who then removed Jensen as the executive from Playdead's CVR registry, since to him it was clear that Jensen didn't want to work there any more
- Jensen's lawyers disagreed with this and meant that he only resigned as creative director, not as the co-owner of the company.
- After some time, the Danish Business Authority had to force Patti out due to continued disagreement between the two parties
- Patti was paid 50 million DKK (~7.2 million USD) for 49 percent of the company
- Arnt Jensen refuses to comment
- Patti thinks that he wasn't compensated for what the company actually is worth and he would still at any time trade his 50 million DKK for a solution that made him co-director at the company.
- When questioned, Patti feels like it is asking about a divorce from a girlfriend. It's very personal.

as a co-founder, he surely should KNOW what the company is worth, or at least know how to prove what its worth...
also im not sure how the DBA could force him out of his own company? was he always a minority stakeholder?
