Denuvo is there in order to increase their profit. More profitability means more/better/bigger games. So, technically, I don't think they're wrong.
Personally, I'll either wait for a crack or buy it when I run out of stuff to play. Never understood this "hate" for companies using Denuvo - I'm annoyed since it's harder to pirate stuff, sure, but I can't hate a company for making a rational business decision.

i have to agree.
they just stated that with denuvo they can assure more games because of profits from it and it's quite fair from a tales fan perspective.
nothing more, nothing less.

The thing is there is still zero proof denuvo increases sales in general (not in the first weeks)
In fact the opposite is more likely lol
More and more players refuse to buy games that have infamous anti-consumer drm protection.
And when developers say they believe drm is anti-consumer and specifically market their game as a non-denuvo one, the players express their gratitude and pledge their money in support of this developer and a (good) game
The thing is they don't need a proof for that; it's a business decision, not a research article If they believe that it will increase their profit and that it won't significantly impact performance, then there's nothing irrational or inherently wrong in deciding to use Denuvo.
Yep same engine, guessing it'll have similar shortcomings too such as environmental detail and the like, this time it's 64-bit though but still uses DirectX 9 on PC.
EDIT:
Edited the post to try and make it a bit better.
EDIT:
Looks like the Steam preload is up now.

It'll be cracked eventually, by that time any other patches or side-DLC (Whether it's some pay-2-win item bonus - yes there is one of those. - or a dress-up outfit pack.) should be available too which could improve the experience. (Patches primarily, although if you absolutely have to dress up the female party members as maids there's a DLC for that already too...)
EDIT: Zestiria catered to both genders too though leaned a bit more towards female fan service, or fan service for males with certain preferences.
They joke around a bit in some of the skits but the only "action" was in the Alisha Story (dungeon) DLC which is somewhat of a extra epilogue for the game.
Some random screens of that, the little plush thing is part of the accessory customization which you can get very (very) creative with due to how flexible it is.
Spoiler:
Bonus:
In actuality it's a bitch of a cat fight though, err I mean it's a bit of a slap fight because someones personality does a 180 in said DLC "because she cares so much." for this other somebody as to minimize spoilers somewhat, makes zero sense and is kept up pretty much through the entire DLC.
And yeah someone over at the dev team figured the now all-female party - for most of the DLC at least. - needed a all-female boss battle and why not stick tits on a giant satyr.
(And high-heels or high-hooves or whatever too, nail polish as well for that matter because fuck you I'm making a giant pink satyr monster and I'm going to make it sexy. )
(And yeah it kinda looks like that whole brofist thing in that particular image but I don't know what the female equivalent of that is, sisfist? )
This is an actual spoiler regarding Zestiria and it's ending.
Spoiler:
Because people didn't like it when they switched Alisha with Rose early on into the game and Sorey almost directly turns down an offer to go with Alisha when next you reunite with her.
The ending credits also has a small cut-in at the halfway mark showing what I guess are aged Hidden Blades members paying respect to Rose's grave several years later.
(And well some of the in-game skits even bring it up like pointing out pretty blatantly that Rose is pretty much a direct copy of Alisha even sharing the same outfits though weaponry is at least different.)
Was going to be a paid DLC but those two things above in the spoiler made some of the more "passionate" (crazed) fans a little bit miffed so as a apology they made the Alisha DLC into free content. (It kinda sucks though as it's little more than a glorified extra-long dungeon.)
EDIT: As to get back from whatever the hell I just wrote and onto Berseria again I don't quite know how things will be, they do still joke around a bit and the entire damn beginning part has that whole this. -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamato_nadeshiko to it because the ideal Japanese woman is a myth or something, or just a potted flower.
Stuff on the opening part of the game here, probably spoilers even so because I fleshed it out a bit.
Spoiler:
Violent or violet or what her name was being dutiful and looking after her sick brother and helping out around in the house - cooking but also hunting, strong independent women and all that. - and worrying about girl things even though the opening had her fisting werewolf "Daemons" into pulp and eating them, with her arm.
There's a father figure too of course but he's crippled from wanking too much or something so his right arm is all busted from that - and he's also totally not some evil asshole whom Violent/violet looks up to and respects. - and he's talking to imaginary friends so you know he's a crazy fucker. (Probably literally too...)
Well if you've played Zestiria you already know how some of this will end up although it's not a requirement though you'd recognize a certain symbol mr crazy wanker here is flashing around on his staff - meaning his actual staff weapon, at least this time.
And if you watched that "censored" version of a scene/movie in the English version you know a certain someone gets heartbroken or alternatively (In the English "censored" version.) ass-to-mouth double-penetrated by magical means because it's less violent...somehow.
<- So either straight penetration - through the chest but whatever. - or just all out fucked over.
(A technicality but yeah it does kinda go just over the ass and just under the mouth but eh, close enough and still a helluva lot larger and potentially more gory than the JP version with it's little thin sword scene making probably 1/10th the size of a injury.)
(Of course while promising they only made this one change in the English edition of the game they did change more than that including some flashback sequence and parts of the translation around said event from what I've read.)
Yeah, putting aside all the joking and such around it it's about the same thing really in both variants of the scene but in a slightly different way so I wonder if it didn't snowball a bit or how it's called, people on Steam claiming they won't buy the game and such because of that whereas I'm fairly sure any adjustments done surrounding said scene are pretty minor.
Although until someone either does a side-by-side compare or just dumps the Japanese version of certain game files and cutscene files it's difficult to say to what extent.
They did keep Velvets default outfit though which eh I suppose there's a reason behind it but I'm not a huge fan of it, then again anime outfits and practicality.
(Alisha and her teacher and their "armour" for example in Zestiria.)
(Armor should protect the chest, not emphasize it. )
EDIT: Well I guess anime or JRPG's in general isn't really the only genre with impractical armor or outfits, have to look badass and all that.
One of the accessories in Zestiria is a afro, various animal tails and collars exist as well including glasses and wing, halos, little plush figurines and emote bubbles so yeah.
Can freely resize and rotate most of them too but the little pink cat tail with a fish on it's end is locked because rotating that 180 would be indecent and they can't have that.
Fuck Bandai,They are the ones who pushed The 'D' to this game, glad it was one of the fastest cracked Denuvo games, well deserve for Both Bandai and Denuvo

how many people bought doom/JC3/far cry/watch dogs and many other games, if it weren't for D?
Aside from DOOM(Which I didn't even know had Denuvo when bought it) I didn't bought any of these games,Thanks Denuvo for helping gone pirate bear patience mode, helping me to save some money
Finished it a while back so I can't check version number but I guess this doesn't include the latest update released a few days ago, though then again that might have been mainly DLC compatibility with some outfit pack, game itself isn't really too buggy though the PC port has some problems or quirks or what to call them.
TBFix or what the project is called can be helpful for that but this port is a bit better than Zestiria so it's only partially broken.
(Odd to hear QLOC being involved in this as I had thought they were pretty capable but I guess it varies from game to game and how much time they have and whatever budget there is.)
@JB : its the update from Feb 2 fixing some AI and sound bugs
there was later some "exe" patch on Wendesday .. but no changelog ... so i guess nothing important
