@lametta ESO Gold includes all 5 DLCs released. Tamriel Unlimited doesn't include the DLCs.

ESO+ gives you crafting bag (which is the biggest advantage) and access to all DLCs. You also get monthly crowns and other small bonuses. Eventually, you can save all those crowns and buy dlcs with it, in case you no longer want to pay for ESO+.

It's more than enough to have base game alone. Orsinium is nice, but you will plenty of other content to finish before jumping into DLCs.

_

I was surprised that they sold Dro'Mathra style for 6000 crowns. Mad The entire DLC bundle costs only 5500 crowns but this one style costs more than that. Like wtf? Laughing

Second, just don't see any point of motif since all good gear is dungeon set and there is no transmog system to make use of styles. Sad

Yeah there's been talk or well a requested feature is the ability to transform gear between styles so you can use more unique motifs even for the better sets that have to be found in more challenging dungeons and the like since most of the craftable sets aren't quite as good even for the ones requiring weeks or months of that whole "research" of traits before you can unlock them. (Twice-Born-Star is a interesting one though.)

They already have the means for Imperial race players to convert standard armor into the Imperial motif and it looks like Morrowind/Vvardenfell will allow for the same for the Chitin / Morag-Tong style.

Meaning there's a basic system in place already but the developers are prioritizing other things and some stuff like equipment previewing have been almost turned down completely although limited previewing is doable via the crown-store UI.

New races or classes have also been discussed although races at least look like it's almost out completely, there's the ten standard ES ones and that's it.
(Classes are a bit problematic due to all the balancing required and to make them mesh with the existing ones though it could still happen.)

Filling in the missing zones on the map or adding in some more stand-alone ones could also be a thing but I don't really know what the long-term plans for the game is or even the plans for 2017 beyond the upcoming "Housing" update and the now announced Vvardenfell zone. Smile

For the housing update the biggest houses or the mansions as they're called also go for a bit above one million gold in-game so what the crown store price for a full furnished version of that will be will be interesting to see, probably going to be a new price record.

The Dro'Mathra armor motif is far from rare from the guild stores but it was around 20.000 gold per part which well for Tier.4 khajiit armor with some paint it's not that good looking and it's just it's appearance, has no effect at all on stats.

Far as that tier.4 thing goes most armor has a tier.1 to tier.3 appearance as you upgrade through the early materials for crafting said racial style but all of them also have a unused tier.4 look used occasionally as appearance for looted pieces (These tend to suck.) or as with Draugr (Nordic) and Dro'Mathra (Khajiit) re-purposed a bit with a unique texture base.
(Dro'Mathra being a bit glowy blue painted, can be dyed but the glowy bits will probably remain as they were.)

Welcome to 2017

Quote:
We have come a long way together – but the journey is just beginning, and it is going to be a lot of fun enjoying the ride together.

This year will feature four major events:

Homestead, our player housing DLC, in February
ESO: Morrowind, our first Chapter release, in June
A dungeon-based DLC in the third quarter
A content-based DLC in the fourth quarter

We will – of course – provide a base patch with each of these launches that will provide quality of life fixes, updates, balance changes, and other items. For more on each of these events, keep reading.

All standard DLC will still be purchased from the Crown Store or be available to ESO Plus members as part of the subscription, but new Chapter content is available only via retail (including digital retail) game or upgrade purchase if you already own ESO.

Because we will be regularly introducing Chapters to ESO, we are going to make a small revision to our content delivery cadence, starting this year. We will continue to ship quarterly updates to the game – each with a base patch that has all the balance, quality of life, and bug fixes that you have come to expect. Additionally, we'll have a DLC in the first quarter of each year, a Chapter in the second quarter, a dungeon-based DLC in the third quarter, and a DLC in the 4th quarter.

Much excited for Homestead.

BTW, any list for some big guilds to join?
Mainly want it to have easier to do daily quests (Pledges), or to have access to some auction house.

Sorry, don't have the list. But next in-game, whisper and will invite you to the guild. Very active (490+ members). Smile

Made Templar (healer/DD) character last night. Slowly levelling up. 15 now. 35 more to go. Very Happy

How well can a casual gamer enjoy raids and dungeons with randoms if playing solely with gamepad?

I am recovering for RSI and thus severely want to limit keyboard+mouse usage outside my SysAdmin job.

@Praetori - the gamepad is very well implemented. In fact, for general PvE, it is smoother than keyboard+mouse for casual gaming. Comes with nice clean UI too. You can also lock on a target (in case if you are not good with quick camera rotation/aim).

The inventory can be a pain to get used to as you have to go through each item to equip/use (rather than just drag and drop/double click).

As for raids/dungeons play, it should be fine if you are good with a gamepad in general. The veteran raids are quite hardcore and require a lot of attention. However, anything in normal mode and general PvE, gamepad works well even for someone not familiar with the gamepad.

For chatting, you will be using keyboard obviously.

A crazy lot of content for housing. Surprised

The small houses are small, but the big ones are amazing. There is so much space you and SO many things you can decorate it with. Made nice 300K profit yesterday, so might end up getting the manor sooner than I thought. Very Happy

Very nice update.

@Bob Barnsen Writs. Very Happy Actually any housing stuff is going for nice price. Some paintings are going for 10-20K. Laughing

@KillaSeven my main is Sorc. It's super fun. Both Stam and Magic are top tier. Smile

Dragon Knights are fun if you don't go for that boring tank route. Wacky builds are fun to play.

Does anyone know/remember the name of a third-party software which removed distance fog and allowed us to render distant terrain?

Hook64 as it's called now.

https://www.gamemodi.net/viewforum.php?f=8&sid=8da541b251bcbfd0f8eca1f30109f771

More of a cheat utility in a few online games (Tree of Savior primarily but also Final Fantasy XIV) but for ESO it does allow for some graphical tweaks such as adjusting view distance (Really hits the framerate though even for smaller increases.) and removing the fog effect.

Also allows for a couple of other things but much of these won't work with the 64-bit client.

I noticed something strange, even though my new character just reached lvl 10, I still have like 18k hp and shit... Is that because I already have a 50+ with champion points?

Every character below champion level 160 gets scaled to that level.
The more up-to-date equip you have for your current level, the better the scaling effect.

So that's what the "Equipment Bonus" meter refers to on the character screen?
I thought it was just a new feature to tell people to get better gear, but it makes sense to use it as a way to scale characters.

That's my favourite mount. Very Happy Makes me want to open those crates, but my luck will get me some lame potions. Laughing Sad

As for the HP and stuff (damage dealt and taken), it scales like Bob said. I have only 12K HP at CP 250+. If you want some challenge at low levels, try running with level 10-15 gear till you hit 50. That's what I'm doing with my alt (level 14 gear ) and it is a blast. At level 25 itself, you start feeling the pressure.

__

Spent most of the time today in low-level zones and flipping house items. Embarassed Made a good profit. Writ still going for a nice price (9-10k/voucher). Green/blue blueprints safely going for 5-10K. Paintings for 10-30K (small-standard-large).

Anyhoo, moved to China steam ( Wink ) and subbed for 6 months ($42). $7/month is very nice for the amount of time I get.

@Kanint Yes. Higher level and quality equipment will provide a larger bonus. Equipment with traits, enchantments, and/or item set bonuses will also provide a larger bonus. Smile
