Star Wars Battlefront II introduces a new single-player Star Wars™ story. You play the role of Commander Iden Versio, leader of the Galactic Empire’s elite special forces unit, Inferno Squad. After witnessing the destruction of the second Death Star, Iden’s team embarks on an extraordinary odyssey of revenge, betrayal, and redemption spanning the 30 year gap between Star Wars™: Return of the Jedi™ and Star Wars™: The Force Awakens™. Along the way, she and her companions encounter a cast of Star Wars’ greatest characters. You’ll take control of many of these beloved heroes in an adventure ranging across a series of fantastic planets, including awe-inspiring settings you’ve never seen before.
When it comes to multiplayer in Battlefront II, options will also be much greater this time around. All of the notable eras from Star Wars film history — Clone Wars, Galactic Civil War, First Order-Resistance conflict - will be playable in BFII and famous hero characters from each of these time periods will also be able to be played. Some of these heroes include Luke Skywalker, Kylo Ren, Yoda, Darth Maul, and Rey. Up to 40 players will be able to play in a match online at the same time this time around. Some of the new locations you’ll journey to include Starkiller Base, Theed, Takodana, Mos Eisley, Endor, Hoth, and more. Additionally, Space Battles will be arriving in Battlefront II which was another highly desired feature that players wanted in the first game.
Star Wars Battlefront II will be released for PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 17th, 2017.
Well sh*t I am quite loving all that!
Edit: Ugh.. we have a Battlefront 4 thread but 2 is planned for Nov? Must be a time warp.

Since the protagonist is the leader of Inferno Squad, maybe the campaign takes inspiration from Republic Commando which is a generally acclaimed SW shooter. It would be really nice to have a squad which we can command into tactical battles and not a shooting crapfest.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005) Multiplayer is Back Online
Quote:
Widely regarding as one of the greatest Star Wars games ever created, Star Wars Battlefront 2, not to be confused with Star Wars Battlefront 2, was released back in 2005 to widespread fan and critical acclaim. However, the game was the one of the causalities of the GameSpy shutdown and multiplayer for most players ended up being lost. You can still use some workarounds such as Game Ranger but if you don’t want to jump through any hoops, multiplayer no longer works.
Today, GOG and Disney have announced multiplayer is coming back and you’ll no longer have to install any more third-party tools to play. Instead, you’ll just be able to boot up the game, go to multiplayer and start finding matches to play. The same Battlefront 2 experience you remember all that time ago is back the way it was.
The multiplayer is being brought back by GOG Galaxy crossplay so this not only affects GOG players but will also allow Steam players to get in on the fun. This update will allow for crossplay between GOG and Steam so you won’t have to buy it again if you already own on Steam. If you want to jump back into the vast world of Battlefront 2, you can do so on GOG for $3.99 as part of the Disney completion sale. Buying games on GOG guarantee a DRM-free version which means you don’t have to activate anything or have an online connection.
Even tho i enjoyed this game to the death when it came out, i would not touch it again with those graphics these days, too nostalgic pixels for my taste.
If i can stomach something like Wasteland 1...Battlefront II 2005 is even easier. So, yeah. Even if it is for lolz, i would get a few rounds now and then.
Minor bug fixes and optimized performance, the most important fixes are:
Lobby functionality has been improved
Steam usernames should now display correctly
Ping calculations are more accurate
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
