What nonsense. I'd take forums over facebook/twitter pages any day since they are terrible for discussions.

Forums are a dying breed sadly. I absolutely hate social media because it's filled with dumb annoying people who ruin any topic you bring up.

One example: a few years back I bought an arcade machine. I posted an image of my 7 year old nephew playing it on christmas day with a christmas tree in the background. I thought it was cute seeing my nephew playing these old games and having such fun but it seems some felt the need to comment on it. "A kid shouldn't be playing computer games on christmas day! He should be spending time with family!" Yes, fuck you too! It wasn't even a friend of mine but because my brother tagged my nephew, his family on his mother's side could see it ...

Couldn't agree more Sad

Though really, social media makes this nonsense just more apparent. Someone tried to guilt trip us to attend the funeral of someone who was somehow related to us. We didn't want to because we had nothing to do with that person. I'm sure these people would be fun if they could write to my facebook feed or something Laughing

The thing is, in these cases I prefer for them to stay as far away from me as possible - I don't give a toss about their opinion but it ruins stuff you want to share with others. That's why I stopped bothering anyway. I mean, social media is all about ego. Boasting about how great your life is. If they could make a list of all people who committed suicide thanks to Facebook, I think we'd get quite a high number. Because who the fuck can measure up to fake and exaggerated lives people pretend to have on social media?

Every vacation is amazing - you won't see them posting picture of a dirty Spanish restaurant they had a crappy meal in or when their feet hurt from having their hotel being too far from the beach, or how they had to wait an hour to get waited on. And typical of social media: negativity is shunned. You're not allowed to not be happy. If your life is taking a downturn, you better stay quiet about it! Yes, bless social media Rolling Eyes

Understandably. It's the missing boundaries. Putting extreme situations like these aside, I behave differently with different people. If I were connected to everyone on facebook that wouldn't quite work. And since others can share your stuff your boundary control is compromised, I think?

I seem to have a special facebook, though. Mine has a lot of quiet people and many with problems sharing them.
But I have blocked a few people and pages when pseudo inspirational quotes or "quizzes" were getting out of hand. Maybe thats why...

That would be a great argument against typical social media.

Since I've been on facebook, I've liked the 'Official "Dislike Button" Request' page. Doesn't seem to help Laughing

Can't you order user reviews by date anymore?!

The Order button has no function and i don't find anything else on the review page.
Also tried disabling uBlock, in case it would block something.
