After tech billionaire Gideon Reeves witnesses his best friend’s murder, he takes charge of Chicago’s troubled 13th District and reboots it as a technically innovative police force, challenging the district to rethink everything about the way they fight crime. Gideon knows if he’s going to change anything, he’ll need help, which he finds from Detective Theresa Murphy, an ambitious, street-smart cop who is willing to give Gideon’s technological ideas a chance. After Gideon launches the APB app, allowing citizens to immediately alert the police of a crime, downloads of the app spike, and Gideon realizes his work is just beginning.

This show would've been awesome as a precursor to Robocop.
An awesome entrepreneur, owner of omnicorp, buys a police station because tony stark syndrome. Omnicorp grows at first because good guys, through out the seasons, but they're losing money and he's replaced by the old man in 2nd season. Omnicorp removes the tech billionaire from the company. Fires him. Shames him. And begins production on hardcore weapons. Mid season2 break Omnicorp cuts all the funds to APB while there's an all out war brewing against police and the thugs of the city. (the city through all the seasons gets worse even though there's less crime, but financial crisis hits but APB has unlimited funds until they're cut off) Omnicorp invests in a dying detroit in the beginning of the third season and leaves the main character on his own in Chicago. You see young Murphy who wants to join his department but they can't afford him and only a few officers are left. So he moves to Detroit.
Series ends with the APB boss, dying after a firefight at the station (ala assault on precinct 13) watches a news report of Omnicorp unveiling Robocop.

CBS has a TV show about a rich tech guy fixing hospitals, now FOX has a tv show about a rich tech guy fixing cops. Sounds like the beginning of a really boring genre of TV shows.
