You are playing a cRPG and are sad that there is no automatic health regeneration?

@Bob Barnsen

The older I get the more I prefer to have automatic regeneration out of combat Laughing Mostly in action rpgs though.

Don't get me wrong, i love that feature too in Action RPGs between fights (also in MMORPGS).

But IMHO in these kind of games it has no place.

Also having barely any fights in this game, i guess we can spend one health potion once every few hours. Cool Face

You only "regen" by sleeping in an enemy-free zone, and still! You could be woken up and fight a group of nasties close-range, unprepared, BG style.
I only sleep to reacquire the possibility to launch healing spells anyway Smug

The reviews on Steam are mostly a waste of space anyway as far as I'm concerned, almost like Metacritic and the likes. There are obviously (rare) valid ones but the majority of them are poor in contents/guided by emotional revenge(s)/or simply silly.

It's more like a superficial spectrum to check on the optimization of games rather than their quality, since the latter often doesn't get taken into account. Case in point: Ryse, with its solid 9/10 Very Positive rating Laughing (or RE6, Dirt Showdown and many other examples).

Any Polish people here, how legit is Pixel Magazine? They reviewed Torment and called it one of the best RPGs of the century:

Well they have (or had) some good authors from the days when gaming magazines mattered and focus on the modern gaming culture with retro added. Pretty legit.

But they also started as a reboot of a cult classic magazine (Secret Service, went defunct in the early 2000's), gathered money from nostalgic fans on a polish equivalent of kickstarter (I think they even broke a record), produced two or three issues under the old name and rebranded and changed format after that. Some people are still pissed off Laughing

Haven't really delved into combat but the one time I did I found I was in a bad spot having expended effort in talkie talkie scenarios.

Burned through my nanos because it was just me and another guy. Can be easy to make mistakes due to misclicks in combat, and it's a bit clunky, but kinda fun.

Anyone playing this for combat will be disappointed though.

All I can say is that I loved Tyranny, but after playing this, I kinda feel like Tyranny would have benefited with less combat and more talkie talkie.

Hopefully it is like P:T where you could talk your way through every encounter. The final boss "battle" at the end of the game was memorable to say the least.

Up till now i could. There were 4 engagements i had to do and maybe 2 could have been avoided. So yeah, its basically and adventure game for me Very Happy

I'm so happy this is inexile and not obisidian. I loved wasteland 2.

Pillars of eternity fan written story and backstory along with trash mobs killed the game for me. While Tyranny had a better story the combat felt very dull.

Pretty sure with or without nostalgia goggles this will never be like pst, but if it's just similar that's good enough for me

Personally I'm pretty much expecting a good setting and atmosphere and hoping for a good story. After WL2 I'm also ready for a bad and exteremely boring combat system, but that I can live with in this paricular case, since encounters are so scarce. I the end, I just hope it'll be a good game, one that'll make me interested in it and make me want to try different possibilities and outcomes. We'll see.

So, just dump all points into social skills, just a few in combat, and have a good time?

Yeah, pretty much. One thing I liked which you can get from the get go, for example, is a mind reading ability Very Happy I remember something like this from Divinity 2, and it's kinda similiar, except you don't pay anything. The game just adds lines in a different color, representing people's thoughts - you can see wheter someone's lying, or their motivations - and they aren't aware of it either (though I suppose there'll be some who will be able to detect it).
