Titlekey/ticket or whatever it's called , it's for the USB method. But the game still needs an update, hence it's not complete the 9,9GB version.

I'm hoping the game plays fine from a SD card. From what I remember, the Wii U isn't compatible with the faster SD cards, only the old ones. I'm hoping the slow speed of it doesn't cause too many issues when playing an open world game, which I imagine must be loading assets quite often.

Edit: For anyone willing to help:
AFAIK, my Wii U is at firmware 5.5.1 U and still using loadiine, but I haven't tried loadiine in MONTHS. Anything that should be changed/updated? PM me with info if you're willing to answer some questions, I don't want to derail the thread.

Looks like people found a way to play the game, with the "USB method". They have files for the game + files for an update. Don't ask me for steps, I don't understand them.

Whole thing is a clusterfuck, men!

You need the EUR game download, .tik file, an update and then another file because some of the update files are corrupted.

Once you receive all these, you are playing the zeldazzzz men!

And even with all the files, I'm not 100% certain I understand the steps being described. I'll just have to go with trial and error once I'm done getting the files. But I'm not sure I even have a good link to get the not-corrupt update files.

I'm getting close to finishing my downloads and I ?think? I understand the steps. So if I get it working, I'll answer questions through PMs for people who need help. I say PM because I'm not sure what the rules are in here regarding this, I don't imagine we're allowed to share Mega links and stuff like that. I should be able to see if it worked in a hour or so.

those are 2-3 easy steps if you have the files and know what you are doing. if you dont know -> just wait, a loadiine release will be there soon like horrordee said. and dont get your hopes up -> it wont work with cemu directly

and ofc NO links here

I have haxchi/cbhc + wupinstaller (1.3 mod) + US console @ 5.5.1

1) Installed base EU game with leaked ticket to USB.
2) Installed patch files to USB.
3) Boot system and play.

Works great, will dig in more in the game later tonight, for now just made sure it was running and killed a few dudes and cooked a slime.

Game works fine.

I understand why this one is a bit special.

Main game partition on disc (and on eShop before Nintendo removed the game) is 0.9.0.

Installing 0.9.0 version isn't enough, the game asks to install the 1.0.0 update.

It's on the main disc on another partition, which is the 2GB file that was uploaded. Sadly, because it's a disc update and resigned for non disc, it needs to be booted to CFW because it's now unsigned content.

Since it seems that eShop is getting the 0.9.0 version too, I'm pretty sure that March 3rd will have 1.0.0 update too online, thus we can leech it straight from Nintendo. This one won't need CFW to boot it up.

So long as it maintains 30 on the switch, I will be happy.

It apparently doesn't. A guy I follow played both the Wii U and Switch. He's currently playing an early version of the Switch (given by Nintendo, review copy) and he mentioned the frame rate issues. He says that the opening area is actually one of the worst in that regard. The FPS drops in areas with a ton of grass, or when the player sets fire to everything.

that's the same on the Wii U version. Grass and fire kills FPS. Makes the last of us (PS3) run like a beauty Laughing

Got it working on USA console. Had to run CFW first in order to install the 2GB update after installing the 9GB game as normal.

Finally managed to get it to work. Got an error on my first try installing the files, bugged out at 1% when installing the base game. Turns out a few of my megaupload files were corrupted/incomplete. Used a torrent of the game to fix the 2% I was missing. Had a few more issues as launching Mocha would give me a white screen, 3 times in a row, then it worked and everything installed. Now the game launches.

I follow similar steps as sTo0z except I dont have haxchi. I used the "starter pack" found on gbatemps. Launched Mocha, then launched homebrew launcher -> WUP installer. Installed game and update, now the game launches. Installed it on a USB key.

I'm very, very glad this worked.

Edit: Fucking hell. I was about 15 minutes in the game when I got an error. "There is a problem with the USB storage device'". Guess I'm trying to install it on the console next (I imagine this is what the option in WUP means with "install to system").

For anyone having trouble here's the guide I followed that worked like a charm. Take notice to click the first thing it says and go to the other page of MattKimura's hacking guide then follow the rest of the guide.

The error is related to your usb, did you format it to FAT32? Or maybe it needs defragging. Could be different things but it's a sure thing it's your usb drive.

It was formatted to FAT32 before being inserted in the Wii U, but the Wii U reformatted it in a different format used for the Wii U.

The issue probably is the USB drive itself. From what I can tell, people say using USB isn't very stable if it's not a USB drive with its own power source. Meaning an external USB HDD. Since I'm using a cheap 32gb key, it's not 100% surprising Zelda would make it crash. I'll simply try to install the game on the Wii U HDD itself instead.

---

What I would like to know is if anyone knows a solid way to avoid getting a white screen in Mocha all the time. I might be imagining things, but so far Mocha only seems to work the first time I copy the files on the SD card. So I'll copy files, launch Mocha, works. Restart Wii U, launch Mocha, white screen until I put the SD card back in my PC and overwrite the mocha/homebrew files. Then it works again.

Are you using a cheap sd card as well? Sandisk is a good brand for usb and sd it's a myth that no usb flash drives work for wii u games but you need a quality one, same goes for sd cards. They're still not all that expensive I've bought used ones on Ebay for $10-$20 and never ran into one problem for several years.

I read the Wii U doesn't really make use of newer SD cards, so I picked a Kingston 32 GB Class 4 SDHC Flash Memory Card SD4/32GB. This one: https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Class-Memory-SD4-16GBET/dp/B001C9P5TO?th=1

I just went for something that was inexpensive but still had good reviews. So far it doesn't look like the SD card caused issues by itself, as games copied nicely. (the error I had previously were missing files) But I don't know if the SD card is quality or not, I haven't used SD cards in general.
