For a period of one week, all Champion Points will be disabled on all Campaigns on all platforms and megaservers
During this time, AP gains in all Campaigns will be doubled, both to compensate for lack of CP and also to incentivize players to PvP so we can record as much data as possible
Campaign durations and leaderboards will not be adjusted during this week
Wait - so characters that hit 50 and want to continue playing will not earn any more experience that week? Champion points are basically awarded for post 50 experience right? All so they can force people to PvP? Or am I misunderstanding the mechanics?
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

It'll be like current non-CP campaigns. You will continue to gain XP, but CP points/skills/passives won't have any effect in Cyrodiil. No more cost reduction or extra damage or any CP passives enabled for one week.
It's very good time to level/unlock your Alliance War skill lines if you are not into PvP as you will be gaining double Alliance Points.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Is this some week long maintenence testing or something because if it is not people that don't pvp wont be doing so because they are stuborn pve players and rightly so if that is all they like to do. They will just take a break from the game for a week if that is the case and make the playing figures look worse.
The "campaigns" just mean the PvP modes you can select between (Well I think you can change once and then if you do it more there's some penalty to it?) anyways PvE and stuff like trials shouldn't be affected at all.
I haven't done PvP in this game in a long while though, I was primarily just exploring but even if you don't encounter a full group of hostile players it still has a lot of problems with latency and disconnection issues so just picking up those little sky shard crystals was a pain and doing the quests and other simpler tasks for some rewards and that PvP currency thing is a bit of a struggle.
Entering the actual PvP city is also something I've only attempted a few times as bad as things are in Cyrodiil they were worse in the Imperial City itself whether it's down in the sewer areas or up in the city districts.
(And as a mix of PvE and PvP it requires a more specialized build, enemies here can kill you almost as fast as a group of hostile players can but that does make sense as this is something of a group activity.)
EDIT: Imperial City has some decent loot although you don't have to go there since items like Lorkhan's Tears for alchemy can now be found reliably even outside of the DLC zones.
Unsure about the ruby tier enchanting runes though and the place does also have two higher-tier craftable item sets though Imperial Physique is kinda specific to the IC itself since it's health bonus only applies in this zone far as I remember.
(There's also some story content and a few world bosses.)
If you have 400K to spare, get 200 Writ voucher Writ, finish it, pick up this Praxis and sell it. Going for 1m. That's 5k/v.
(works with normal Skeleton Praxis too. 125 writs. Goes for 500-700k.)
My biggest sale.

Imperial City is still a nightmare for soloing, mainly during peak hours.

If I'm around and China Steam gives a key to activate, will grab one for you. $18 for standard upgrade.

Thanks for othe offer, but i can't repay you as i have no Paypal. Also i don't think you can redeem the Steam game on your non-Steam account for the game (which i have)?

You can. I gave my Steam code to Sausage user here.
You can also buy a steam copy -> link your current non-steam account and sell the standard key you get. At least that's how I managed to switch from non-steam to steam without losing my original account.
Let's see if it works with Morrowind. As for Paypal, I don't use it myself. Maybe trade some game or something later.

Really? So when you're linking your Steam account to your original retail non-steam game account they don't ask for the key that Steam gave you in order to link it? It just sits there unused?

Yes. At least it didn't ask me 2 months back when I linked my steam account to non-steam game account.
The steam version just runs game launcher. After that you can login with any account (steam or non-steam, both works).

@Bob Barnsen You character is EP faction, yes? Just go to The Bleakers. All flipping the keep non-stop. EP & DC.
Equip healing staff as well so you can tag everyone in your group. When they kill, you still get some AP for it.

Because Battlegrounds are small-group PvP matches, a game won't last any longer than 15 minutes; a very different experience from the epic campaigns of Cyrodiil. If you're looking for some quick-and-dirty action, Battlegrounds are the perfect place for an exciting PvP experience.
There are three unique Battleground game types at the launch of ESO: Morrowind, and each one offers a different kind of action.
Team Deathmatch
Capture the Flag
Domination
There are three unique arenas you'll fight in at launch:
Ald Carac – A dilapidated ruin of an ancient Dwemer city
Ularra – An old overgrown Daedric worshipping site
Foyada Quarry – A quarry set in the shadow of Red Mountain

I hope that for Battlegrounds it will be Groups vs Groups, and Solo-queuers vs Solo-queuers. So groups don't roflstomp some random singles.
But i'm probably wishing for too much. As that feature is in barely any game.
That's their plan.
Quote:
There's also plans that when you're grouped you'll be matched against other grouped players, through a certain amount of cycles in the queue. If you're sitting there waiting too long, it's going to go "Screw it! Find some PUGs, put 'em in there, let's go!" That also being said, it's going to try and match single players against other single players.
Level 10-49 mode will be fun.
Level 10-50 will be Templar fest.

Also the mechanic with searching for several cycles and then joining the solo-queue. Such a simple feature, yet like never used in competive games. At least in those i played.

Are they so strong in PvP?
I guess tank specs will be very OP in those small scaled battlegrounds. I mean even in Cyrodiil i encountered some that withstood 10+ people for quite some time.
Templar makes you waste your time and then press alt + F4 or just run away. The support build makes you immortal. Unlimited sustain with decent damage output.
A full Templar team is going to cause a lot of frustration to play against. 2xDD Templar and 2xSupport Templar and all have Breath of Life slotted in. Nightmare.
If you plan to play Battlegrounds, better start collecting full gear with an Impenetrable trait.

When the Battlegrounds come out, i will start that new class anyways.
Seeing how slow the devs are at fixing some things, i hope it will be OP for a few weeks/months.

I feel like they are very active and putting a lot of efforts to improve the game with every update. Really nice to see how much has changed since launch.
MagSorc -> I'm running 5xBSW and 3xMoondancer. A standard for dungeons and trials.
For vMA -> Julianos over BSW.
By the way, the Necropotence seems to be amazing for vMA. Heavy attack build and AOE seem to do crazy damage. I'm working on Neco pieces, mostly will run vMA in coming weeks.
