I will wait and see as I'm W40K fanboy but it all smells of smaller budget than previous DoWs. I don't care much for multiplayer because I suck at it.
I hope that the campaign will be at least decent and well there would be the Last Stand as good as in previous iteration. Overall I'm with you, it was a long time since I played a decent RTS game.

Seriously though, I remember an interview years ago, they've foresaw Dawn of War 3 to be an online game of some sort. I wouldn't be surprised if they stay true to that. |
When I said that last year when the game was teased... Oh fuck me. Are there no good RTS developers left anymore? With AOE / AOM HD doing well, I thought people have finally smarten up to the idea that the market is still out there for traditional RTS games.

to keep it short, it says the same fears i've already told you: the game points towards clashing big armies head-on because of the cover removal, with the basebuilding of the first game, doctrines like CoH's, but with the addiction of "elite" units.
elite units are bought in play with normal resources and elite ones; elite resources are generated through time by specific node points around the map, mostly like Men Of War special units approach afaik.

Mechanically that sounds like a bad idea..a player control's more map is then rewarded with stronger units? therefore any game is a rush to control the most fastest.
