Allied 7.5/10
Not what I was expecting and was quite good for what it is.
Assassins Creed 3/10
Ass-Cancer that makes no sense to begin with.

Both seemed redundant to me.

7/10 never really engaged me too much, but parts of it were nice.

Ass Creed /10
30 mins in and I'm like: fuck this shit I'm going to bed. Hopefully people who like the games like the movie, at least it would have some purpose then. Just bad.

Assassin's Creed - 4/10
Bizarrely empty film from beginning to end (like.. the film ends with no action sequence, no nothing.. dafaq?! I had to double-check that I hadn't watched some "censored" version or something.. it's like the entire third act has gone missing), with a cryptically-told plot for non-fans of the video games ("Leap of Faith" exclaims Cotillard, as if reading from the video game's design document), that thinks it's "deeeeeeep mang" because it has its characters mumble for 2 hours about violence and the sins of mankind, but in reality it's just boring and joyless - there isn't a single character that is having fun in this. The color palette is also just as lifeless, and the action isn't very well shot or edited. Stunts are okay.
The film is too serious, for no good reason - the plot isn't deeeeeep, it's a typical McGuffin plot you'll find in video games (and just as poorly told).
Fassbender and Cotillard deliver typically good performances, but their characters are very much one-note here, especially Cotillard.. Fassbender hit the gym and delivers the film's eye candy.
Casting aside, this is a perplexing misfire from top to bottom. Only for fanboys (who were probably too busy playing the video games to show up in the theaters).
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

It actually wasn't cheap (more expensive than Logan) and it had a good cast which suggested that perhaps the script was a good one in order to attract them. Alas..

Kubo and the Two Strings
Ok, that was pretty great. The overall story is pretty meh, but the way it was told was fabulous. The showdown at the end felt like a video game boss fight, only to be resolved "by the power of LOOOOVE" (or memories in this case, to be precise), but over all, it was a good movie.
I expected CGI, but it turned out to be claymation which I wish was used more in animated movies.
I only saw the posters before downloading it, so I had zero expectations, but I just adored the idealised Japanese mythological setting, which was a very welcome surprise. I guess the shamisen should have been a giveaway on this.
Also the sisters' design was pretty cool, and I'm really happy they didn't reveal their faces fully.
8/10

Live by Night - couldn't finish/10
Started out well enough, but developed into a borefest. Affleck was never a good actor and here he's way out of his depth. Saldana is phoning it in. The plot is both derivative and boring.
Best part, so far, is how it looks and the music is occasionally strong. Gleeson and Miller both did a great job.
Overall, though, it's mediocre at best - and I'm not going to bother watching that last hour.

Brimstone (2016)
~8/10
I loved it.. Great soundtrack, acting, scenery and storytelling. However, the villain...Jeez. when they revealed who he was and what he did and his reasoning... now it was just kinda over the top and cartoonish.

Brimstone - 7/10.
As @h0rnyfavn have said, the villain was a little weak and also the last part of the film was plainly horrible imo. Some things just didn't make sense, and it felt rushed.

@Clevesa
The last part ("Retribution") was the worst. However, the ending was somewhat nice. I like tragic endings
