It's a real shame that Rockstar don't seem to bother with single player contents anymore and keep churning out stuff for the online, Episodes from Liberty City and especially TBoGT is my favourite GTA ever.
Sin317-"im 31 years old and still surprised at how much shit comes out of my ass actually ..."
SteamDRM-"Call of Duty is the symbol of the true perfection in every aspect. Call of Duty games are like Mozart's/Beethoven's symphonies"
deadpoetic-"are you new to the cyberspace?"
I was just looking back over this thread. The game was released almost 2 years ago now, on PC, and as we know it was pretty epic.
But... I still feel that little bit of bitter bile rising in the back of my throat when I realise just how many pages and YEARS of posts we had before it even made it to PC. And of course, primarily, this is a previous-gen game at it's heart.
So I imagine that, given the rumours of a 2020 release for GTA VI, we're going to start hearing 'things' about it, like we did back in the day for GTA V. But.. I wonder if RS will screw PC gamers over yet again with the release dates. I wonder how patient we'd be next time around?

I enjoy the MP additions. Am I the only one here that plays it for the MP only?
GTA4 I played SP all the way through. But this one I did just enough SP to get into MP.
I think on steam I have 500+ hours, and farthest I got in SP was that steal a car and race it to sell(the part you needed to join online).

it's cool to hate the mp in here. being edgy and all you know. people forgot we already got the finished and polished game with all additions, still they want more cool and useless single player addons with 2 hours game time.
i don't play mp anymore because it's still full of cheaters and even if not the market is done with more then enough people who already got a trillion ingame dollars because of all the cheating since the beginning. (thanks to mods)
hope rockstar will learn from this and will not allow any mods in gta 6. then im in for the multiplayer again. if not i will have a nice time with the single player and again 1 or 2 months with friends in the online heists. (but no public mp)
I personally didn't play much GTA Online, I find it a little too ... WTFish ... and got shooted so many times for no reason ... and went "disconnect the fuck out of this".
I had yet to finish single player story (I am at 65%)
But I relaunched the game recently to play the awesome LSPDFR Mod with tons of plugins and this never gets old.
The game itself is a masterpiece, I was still amazed by a thunderstorm yesterday
Also, I watched some streamers playing GTA RP with the new FiveM role play mod and holly shit, this put Arma3 RP to a shame

I've played MP for some 30 or so hours, but stopped because of all the technical problems. And loading times, oh my god the loadings for every single thing you want to do. Disconnects. Cheaters. More disconnects. More loadings. More cheaters. Half the time i've spent in MP was me looking at loading screen.
So in short, awful experience.

Nah, the only thing I strongly disagree with is derpwald who wants Rockstar to be even more hostile about Modding. I think Mods like LSPDFR and the rest really improve the game a lot.

Yup, the loading times were, and probably still are, retardedly bad.
Was the reason i stopped playing that shit after like 10h.

After 1900 Hours and the introduction of the Car Theft Update i stopped playing, its just the same crap with adding new Vehicles over and over. Im just fed up and exhausted.
Loading times are these days not that much of a problem since most stuff is happening in free roam, very pleasent and unpleasent at the same time.
Ah see, if I play 90% of the time its with friends, and we do a private lobby. Load times are WAY better.
Plus dont get random asshats fucking with us, or such. Sometimes we will just ride around doing dumb shit making no progress in anything.
The few times I/we go public lobby is just to screw around and join in with the people shooting random people..until we get bored of it, or steamrolled enough to go back crashing planes into each other, or seeing how long 4 of us can hold 5 stars in a private again

I just think they implemented the MP in a very shitty way... in my opinion it should have been two separate games.
Also... MP just doesn't feel like a GTA game to me. It pretty much boils down to: be a dick without consequences. That's most PvP games though, lazy design.
what broke the online part for me was/is the abysmal, non existing server/client structure and the long ass loading times that result out of this mess. i could bear it for some time but since there are no new heists, its kinda pointless eh?

Seems from the comments a bit further down they would just have done the usual and place the games map in the new engine, might have been fun to explore even so though.
ofc they wouldnt have done a "remake" of rdr in that engine, thats not possible with the tools available. so yes it would have been a "simple" port of the map and gfx assets. still cockstar wasnt amused (as usual)
Well a takedown notice wasn't exactly unexpected though they didn't say much for porting over the GTA IV map or the GTA III, VC and SA maps which I think has been done for both GTA IV and GTA V.
Pretty sure there was even a project to do a reverse of sorts and put the GTA V map in GTA IV but I don't know if that ever came to anything.
