For anyone interested in modding (as in actually making mods, not just using them), you might want to keep an eye out for what WarrantyVoider (mod tool author for ME3 and DAI) is doing - https://www.reddit.com/r/meamodding/ Looks like he is working on adapting his DAI tools, as I suspected he would.
The first patch, version 1.05, will launch this Thursday, April 6 and address technical fixes (crashes, improved performance), as well as add a number of improvements. Here are the full patch notes:
- Improved tutorial placement
- Single player balance changes: Ammo crates, armor, weapons, nomad, profiles, attacks, and progression
- Multiplayer balance changes: Weapons, cover, and enemies (check back for detailed notes on balance changes)
- Added option to skip autopilot sequences in the galaxy map
- Improved logic, timing, and continuity for relationships and story arcs
- Improved lip-sync and facial acting during conversations, including localized VO
- Fixed various collision issues
- Fixed bugs where music or VO wouldn’t play or wasn’t correct
- Fixed issue where global squad mate banter sometimes wasn’t firing on UNCs
- Fixed issue where player was unable to access the Remnant Console Interface after failing decryption multiple times
- Fixed issue where fast travel is sometimes disabled after recruiting Drack until the player reloads a save
- Fixed issue where Ryder can become stuck in the start of Biotic Charge Pose
- Fixes issues related to some saves
- Fixed issue where objective sometimes becomes un-interactable for players in multiplayer
- Streaming and stability improvements
I'm still playing it and main story-wise it's still ok game. Solid 6/10 or something like that.
However... these fucking retarded missions that require you to bounce around planets just to scan or talk to someone... ffs... who on Earth thought that would be fun to do?
Just as I'm settling with these quirky facial animations, the game always finds a moment to surprise me again, for example - total pokerface when the dialogue is emotional.
And another thing - even the characters face texture quality is inconsistent. One time I can see all the pores and wrinkles of Ryder and in the next scene it looks like I'm playing Duke 3D
Oh and what's up with characters wondering away from you mid-dialogue? If I didn't use subtitles I wouldn't even be able to hear what they're saying

It's Dragon Age Inquisition in space. It's not about whether it is fun or not, it's simply about padding to reach some predetermined level of content because management decreed that it must be an open world game. DAI and MEA would both have been much better off sticking with a series of small custom story-driven maps rather than a handful of barren open world wastelands stocked with endless fetch quests (or scan quests in the case of MEA).
I'd much rather have a small handful of good quality story-heavy side quests than 1,000 fetch quests. What story-based side quests that do exist in MEA are completely hamstrung by lack of content. They have so few lines of dialogue that you get ridiculous outcomes. Think of something in the vein of convincing the Unabomber to turn himself in with a single line of dialogue, as an example.
That's what SUCH an irritation with this game. It has clearly been worked on by separate teams (which is commonplace of course) - some teams are quite good (some of the planetary graphics are indeed stunning) and the storyline and animation teams were schoochildren.
It's SO frustrating because now I've played a bit longer past the trial ending, there was such potential for a damned fine game here, ruined by terrible management decisions and poorly constructed dialog. Ryder is, quite simply, a slut, male or female. So far, every possible 'flirt' response has been an invite to dinner or drinks, like, so out of the blue I must have laughed and cringed at the same time.
So annoying. The game has SO much possibilities... I would imagine this is a new IP with more coming. I just hope to FUCK that somehow, they scrape together a more competent, less angsty team of developers without an overreaching agenda of #diversity and shit like that - keep that crap out of gaming unless it is logical to include it. I swear, every NPC in this game has some fucking 'angle' - and I'm so SICK of the blunt 'wrong sexuality' putdowns, as if somehow you're supposed to guess they're into your particular genitalia.
*sigh* I'm gonna play it though, just because I can. I have nothing better to do - which is probably even more of a sad fact

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
the game started well imo but once you arrive on eos and see how boring and uninteresting the free roam is ; i can forget about the animations but the voices are superfucking annoying, and about the writing nothing to said, the simplest writing ever
for who didnt started the game yet, play with the male, his voice cant be worse than the retarded female one, i want to beat hear everytime she says something
oh, im going full on blonde, blue-eyed white male, you can be sure of that. Just putting the finishing touches on his beautiful, pure blood, alpha male face.

Did the same thing, to resemble my humble self that is;) Under specific angle and light I must admit that I succeeded, and no it's not from behind and completely dark haha. Just don't forget to match the color of your eyebrows with hair, unless you want to look stupid, oh wait.... you can't
Finished it with 96% completion, can't be assed to do some tasks.
All in all it is a pretty solid game, hope they improve on the formula. Hated Liam, he's so terribly written I still have no idea what he's supposed to be. His loyalty mission is pretty entertaining though.
Funny moments compilation (there's some good stuff)
Who's supposed to laugh at many of the "comical" moments in that video? I think the most funny things can be found in those mails, whoever wrote those was at least trying to create a synergy between the crew and highlight each character's personality traits. It also helps that we don't have to watch the terrible animations and all that entails or hear the voice acting in the mails (talk about AAA right there!).
While I do understand why some people would find Liam annoying, compared to the typical and bland characters that fill the Tempest he's actually one the better ones from the current bunch. He's unpredictable and makes stupid mistakes while trying to to good due to his rushing nature. He's also the more human character since he's at least a bit attached to the past and didn't give up entirely on who he was or the things he likes. Some of the best and comical scenes in the game happen because of him.

I'm curious, how much time did it take to complete it at 96%? How long do you think completing the game at 75-80-90% would take the average user?
Around 60 hours maybe? Without mining. My total playtime is 73 hours. Keep in mind that some of it is waiting for the damn ship to get to the damn system and land on the damn planet.
Somebody else with weird image quality? Scaling is neutral (1.00 or sth) and I get jaggies and the impression that runs at an even lower resolution (changed factor from 900 to 1080p)
Scaling method should be at custom or what it's called, there's a couple of different setups that try to manage scaling for you which you'll want to disable and then control via just the select screen resolution or via the separate 0.5 - 2.00 scaling slider.
(One of them I think tries for 900p which I assume is 1600x900 and then there's 1080p and finally custom or what it was called which lets you control scaling or keep it to the native res.)
You might have it set correctly already though and it's something like the temporal AA or SSR which is causing issues since both use the info from previously rendered frame to create their final result which can lead to ghosting or artifacts.
not sure what happened, but after I installed 17.4.1 AMD drivers I can no longer run this game. black screen crash after intro. tried several versions. all drivers installed. Anyone has anything similar?

Best to switch to a Nvidia GPU.
