i really like it so far, played ~5-6 hours performance seems very limited serverwise, the serverpatch yesterday made it a lot better imho. now always 60+ fps. but im not playing maxed out cause you cant see shit with all the sun effects at max etc preferably playing duo with a friend or squad with another one. our 4th guy still hasnt bought it and playing with randoms is meeh simple tactics: drop in a not crowded zone where you know vehicles spawn, get a vehicle, hope the zone is a bit far away, use the next 5 min to drive at the edge of the map where good loot is and then hurry back into the zone and start raping people. works fine as long as you get company from two sides. not a fan of camping at all, rush in, kill people. fifty fifty chance to survive till ony 3-4 teams are left

You don't have to play with the randoms in squads. You just take one to have one less enemy.

Isn't ARK a complete game that's stuck in Early Access because they keep adding small pieces of content? What's missing from the game that gets people so upset? I did play it at its EA launch, it got to addictive but the servers wipe woke me up to reality. The performance wasn't great, but the last patch I got to see definitely brought some improvements in that area. Also, if you like the style, the current content in Battlegrounds can last you for hundreds of hours. Obviously I'm not trying to convince you or force your principles, I'm just saying there is strong replay value for an online game of this nature. I've invested over 70 hours in the CBT and I'm currently at 81 in EA.

only played ~12-13 hrs so far, cause the rounds are most of the time exhausting. means im playing 2-3 rounds (would say average 20min per round) an evening and thats it.dunno if im getting old but watching the screen pixel by pixel to check for enemies in the later phase is exhausting

I'm currently on the brink of giving up playing the game for the time being. All the lag/de-sync/hitreg issues in combination with the absence of first-person view servers... I've been very tempted to buy this but the lag spikes I see in all the Twitch streams is putting me off because at a certain point, it becomes a game of luck when you start to lag out in the middle of combat.

Meh... I would've much preferred them upgrading the UMP to .45 or just give it a damage buff. Still hoping we gonna see an FAL and somekind of bolt-action hunting rifle as an alternative to the K98. They chose UMP9 as one of the initial guns which is a 9mm SMG. A .45 SMG is a nice addition and Vector is a pretty damn cool gun. There are 3 bolt-action rifles in the game, I think that's enough. I would like to see SCAR-L changed into a SCAR-H, but that's unlikely to happen.

SCAR-H could happen if when introduce the FAL (and iirc from an PAX interview, that one is a hot contender). Oh when I mentioned bolt action, I meant something shitty like the K98 that doesn't come exlcusively in an airdrop. Some more AK variants would also be great.

I was watching streamers play this the other day. It is such a simple, straight forward concept; and that makes it a good game to watch online. As I watched, I had this feeling I couldn't shake: How cool wouldn't it be to base a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - themed experience on gameplay similar to this. You could have the post-apoc, toxic wasteland setting, add some RNG monsters, and add artifacts as well as weapons/gear for people to fight over; and ultimately try to survive/extract it. The world in this game is a bit bland imo. But of course, I understand that making an engaging world takes resources, time, and all that. Just a thought though.

Kar98k isn't exactly a shitty weapon, it's actually the best weapon for solo.

@EternalBlueScreen Mods might grant you that STALKER wet dream. Very Happy

This game wants to be competitive and I'm not sure it will benefit from an extremely complex world. But its worth saying that many of the buildings are placeholders.
