Finally played the game for a while, I like it a lot actually. The upgrade is noticeable and the handling model is pretty solid in my opinion, an improvement over last year's version (I'm currently playing on Pro with traction control set on low - since having it completely disabled requires some practice).
It's obviously not a revolution, but at least doesn't look/feel too dated anymore. AI seems okay so far, didn't notice anything suspicious.
There's however a problem with the optimization that is forcing me to play at glorious 30fps (same framerate as the PS4 version), which is quite annoying in a racing game.
edit: the graphics aren't too impressive in general (especially the environments, a bit empty), but the bikes/models are very detailed. They look really good, imo. I might as well post some screens too
what about multiplayer? did u try it? i used to play moto gp around 2004 or so and it was so much fun online.
still remembering all those spanish dudes jejejejejejeje
Not yet! Though looks like it uses the same "system" as MXGP, all you need is a valid e-mail address and you can easily set-up you account without serials ( I think).

Sounds good though, might download this for a fiddle
You already know what to expect then.
So far my only problems are the performance, and the fact that there's some kind of blurry consolish AA with vaseline all over the place. The force feedback is also hit and miss with the 360 pad.
How is the career mode? Do you make your team or you pick one of the bad teams and go through better teams while you advance or you sell your ass for money like in DERP: Autosport
It's out. Looks like a reskin with the typical shit engine sounds. Might try it anyway to see if the career mode is any good. Seriously though, my little 250cc yamaha sounds heaps meaner then what I've heard from gameplay. Fucking awful. I don't understand why almost every racing game has shit engine sounds.
On that note go and install raceroom racing experience on steam (its f2p) this weekend cause it's got a free weekend thing going and be amazed by a game with actual GOOD engine sounds. On the downside every other racing game will sound like absolute shit to you from then on so be warned
What an absolutely shit game. Im a biggest motogp fan, but holy shiat this is bad. I LOLed hard when i was driving on straight, and bike is literally humping the road. Srsly, WTF? Also, easiest and "pro" setting = no difference. I really thin it took them like 2 hours to make 15 from 14. And a day to make RIDE from 14. WTF they doing the rest of 363 days of the year? Ok and dont let ne get started on sound...seriously, this game has the most awful sound in history of racing games, ever. Soind of bike makes me want to take a fi10 drill and start to drill in my eardrums....holy fuck this is a bad game. Uninstall is the best race mode in this game.
Just want to ask (and it could be the case of me being ignorant).
What is wrong with a bike humping on a straight?
I'm asking since in F1 you also have a lot of vibrations going on straights and some of the older tracks even have nasty bumps.
So I would assume it would be the same'ish experience with Moto GP. The ignorant part is me not following Moto GP at all so I can only work with assumption.
I did hear a lot of people always complaining about the horrible noise they have for engines. It's that one thing that keeps coming back. Like the A.I. in codemasters F1
Haha some humping is nothing unusual, it's less noticeable in MotoGP because there are more electronic-based-aids (compared to the SBK for example), but it's definitely there. Many drivers complain about it when they use the wrong settings.
Anyway, I've managed to download the ISO from my uni, it really is basically a patched up MotoGP 14 (and no one was surprised that day ). It's not bad in my opinion (decent graphics, playing with traction control disabled is fun), but it truly is preposterous that it's being sold with the 40€ price tag xD
Check out this new gameplay footage for MotoGP 17. Milestone also announced a brand new Managerial Career mode:
The choices of a Team Manager are critical to the success of a champion, starting with the management of resources in order to create a winning team and to motivate young riders towards attaining the title! Each victory accomplished at the race weekends will increase your reputation and make you earn new credits, enhancing the riders’ performance at the same time.
The Team Manager will lead every aspect of the team like a deus ex machina, including:
Sponsors: as the reputation of your team grows victory after victory, you will be able to increase your visibility and receive offers from the Championship’s official sponsors, allowing you to get new in-game credits.
Bikes: being competitive means being able to race on high-performance bikes and being a Team Manager means you can invest in the best models. Naturally, the more popular your team becomes, the greater your selection will be!
Riders: one of the main tasks of the debut season will be to choose the best riders for your team; the player, apart from racing with their custom rider, will also need to hire another 5 riders who will compete in all the categories, guided by artificial intelligence. The player will also manage the crew and prepare the riders for each challenge. Managing the activities and costs for both the team and riders will speed your journey to success.
Team Departments: as the Team Manager, you will oversee the various departments that make up your team, investing resources to improve the growth of the riders and your income after each race. The team consists of more than 10 departments (Nutritionists, Athletic Preparation Team, Sports Management, etc.) and with careful management, players can win the World Championship in three different classes!
R&D Department: although a team is chiefly made up of people and activities that need to be managed on a daily basis, a good Team Manager will invest in the R&D department so as to always guarantee not only the best bikes but also the best components which will ensure superior performance, race after race
MotoGP and Milestone have signed a contract renewal. As such, the Italian developer to retain the licensing for the Official MotoGP videogame through December 2021. Extending an important partnership that began in 2012, this new agreement once again covers all console and PC platforms.
As much as I like the core gameplay of this series, the traditional amount of laziness and complete negligence from the developers has really increased exponentially, with the last two versions being prime examples of how not to make sequels (well, "sequels" ).
There are still the same exact bugs, specific wrong AI times/behaviors and faulty features as three iterations ago despite the feedback (with the products being sold at ~full price), and while modding always steps in every year and tries to improve things, miracles can't be done. Being stuck with Milestone isn't the worst thing ever, but actual improvements and/or refreshing ideas (that work) are needed to keep the poor motorbikes on the road.
To no one's surprise, the 2018 version was announced. This doesn't sound bad though:
Quote:
Using the powerful Unreal Engine 4 for the very first time, MotoGP 18 will also benefit from laserscanned circuits and looks set to be "re-designed and rebuilt up from the very basics", marking a very serious statement of intent from the development team behind this long running officially licenced franchise of bike racing games.
I've done some quick isoraces out of curiosity expecting some pleasant surprises, the result was a bit different though. The new engine feels more responsive and the layouts are more accurate, but.. the hoped visual upgrade was left inside the garage when it comes to the lighting and actual tracks, everything feels hollow. On the bright side, the muddy default image quality can be improved a lot if one disables the heavy TAA and aggressive motion blur, lowers the gamma and increases the internal resolution up to 150% (200% is too demanding for its own good ).
The physics are a strange beast as well, even with all the aids disabled the bike feels glued to the ground, it's rather difficult to lose control in full-throttle mode unless one stays on the grass or uses the Marquez treatment against the poor opponents.
The last MotoGP that I thoroughly played was the 2015 one, and aside from the signature inconsistent AI (still there) and low-quality sound effects it definitely provided a better driving experience overall in my opinion, especially with some community mods on top of it. Milestone
It's sad when a supposedly simulative title released in 2018 has less accurate physics than SBK 2001 - still the best bike racing game ever made (and nearly impossible to run on modern systems).
The official videogame dedicated to the most famous racing championship in the world is ready, more than ever, to give you roaring emotions even this year.
Warm up the engines and get ready for the greatest gaming experience on two wheels.
MotoGP™19 will be available from June 6th for PS4, Xbox One and PC / Steam. The Nintendo Switch version will arrive a few weeks later.
But the real question is...what if the AI riders in the game become aware of themselves and decide to take over, will they be able to find John Connor and will there be T800 to save the day?
The graphics look definitely better than last year's version, let's hope the actual physics and AI with that Neural hodgepodge will finally get improved as well (I'd be okay if the handling just went back to being as sim-y as MotoGP 2014&15 were). Not holding my hopes up though
