Nope, AFAIK. At first it was kinda ok, but now it's just irritating.

Anywho, watched a few videos and it looked good. Wasn't sure how it would feel to control, so gave the isodemo a try, and it impressed me enough to buy it.
Liking it so far, tho the difficulty made a huge jump once out of the junkyard area. Killing zombies with Lynx rigs was a breeze, now everyone is in Rhino armor, and they hit like trucks.

this is for those that dont know. since u cannot refight bosses til ng+? it helps to know this before u start.

first boss drops a better version of its weapon if u kill it without it getting hit by its own missles.

Seems either the game turned out like a boring shit and nobody is playing it anymore, or it's that good that nobody has time to write a mini review.

Time to test it myself now.

This is the usual humps though. If it was a AAA game it would be flooding with opinions.

I'm not done with dark souls 3 or bloodbourne so i won't touch it yet.

I played just a bit past the first boss. So far it's pretty good. The combat is fluid and well done with just a few disjointed animations before executes. I like that there are enough new or revised mechanics within the combat system and progression to make this game feel different than the Souls games.
The level design is claustrophobic with interconnected areas within each main zone, but with each main zone separated through a loading screen. There are plenty of dangerous trash mobs awaiting at each corner with which are a joy to fight with this new targeting system.
The graphics aren't bad, but not impressive either. A bit of clipping here and there and an artistic direction that isn't impressive but so far not as bad as I expected it to be. I'm playing 1080 on the highest settings and I had a few fps drops with the resolution scaling 130%.
The game works really well with mouse and keyboard.

Yea well i rather enjoy it too.

From the videos i thought it would be pretty easy against those noob enemies. But just fighting two at once resulted in a few deaths already for me.

Game just crashed for me though. I bet everything will be lost since i last visited the Medbay? Embarassed

Also is there no ingame map at all? Only randomly see some maps on a wall.
But i already got lost and nearly stumbled into some big empty area. Looked like a boss would pop up if i go further and just went back with a NOPE. grinhurt

@Nodrim
Whats your GPU?
Running it with scaling 150%. Tried 200%, but only got ~40fps then.
Still, 150% together with Reshade looks pretty nice.

Also my CPU usage is only ~10% grinhurt

Some of the things i've read though. Next to no wow moments like when you visit new beautiful areas in dark souls. Few bosses and a bit many loading screens. I'm cautiously optimistic.

I guess Dark Souls games are the masters of that with how they created the whole world. And every location feels so well done.

Why ru running with 150% scaling? Is SMAA not enough?

Reached second boss now, a bit trickier than the first, but I think I got most of the 1st phase down.

Once you guys reach the second level, I recommend using the hammer with the Lynx rig. It hits like a truck, and staggers pretty much everyone, but the light armor offsets the speed penalty a little bit (the maintenance bots are still a pain in the ass tho, but even they go down faster, I just couldn't be assed to figure out how to send them into self-repair mode for the rear-shots). The enemies hit so hard that there's little point in going for heavier armor, but if you use the jump attack to start the combat, very few mobs can break the stunlock the hammer can inflict (mostly just the security guys, and they don't respawn). Very Happy

Also, I only had a crash on the isodemo, and only one at that (2-3 hours maybe). 7 hours into the legit version, and no crashes (fingers crossed).

Anyhow, I got stuck on the second level for a while, I was going in circles for a couple hours before finally stumbling onto the correct path. I spent about 2 hours going through the same shortcut over and over again, and when I finally found the way, I unlocked 3 new ones in under an hour. Razz

EDIT: also, be careful when going against the security guys on the second level. There's only 4 of them (at least I didn't see more (2 right after you find OPS, hidden behind some barricades on top of some stairs, and 2 right after you meet the female survivor, on the rail station platform)), and they don't respawn. Be sure to get a piece of armor off them that you don't have yet. I made the mistake of not getting the body rig, and I'm pretty convinced that having the full set is the unlock condition for those doors that scan you and says 'security personnel only'. I'm sure there will be more of them later on, but it looks like a nice piece of protection.

I tried with SMAA only (Reshade and ingame) but i still got some bad aliasing.

Also with my new card it would be a shame not stress it a bit more, as i'm still only playing in 1080p.

Tried it for a bit. Seems somewhat amateurish to me. Feels a bit like Mars War Logs - only prettier.

I guess it's worth it if you're into the genre.

The environment is dull, though.

No idea why, but it runs really bad for me.
I have some huge drops like 20-30 fps for a few seconds, before it goes back to 60 fps. Its really annoying and its happening no matter what settings.

GPU utilization perhaps, if VSync is on it could be that thing where it uses double-VSync or how it's called where instead of dropping below 60 it goes from 60 to 30 though the game does seem to have a few optimization problems so even people on 1070's or 1080's get those frame drops going by discussions over at the Neogaf forums.

Game runs fairly well here but it's not constant 60, using the resolution slider also only eliminates a bit of the aliasing and the specular shimmering while completely tanking framerate though I noticed there's mentions of SMAA T2X in the game strings so I might try to see if that might be something that could be activated although I doubt it but it's worth trying. Smile

Oh and moving between these different hallways causes some framerate fluctuation as well as it streams in and out the data needed.
(For some reason the med bay early on is a bit of a problem area for framerate too, not quite sure why but there's probably some fancy shader or something in play.)

Why are you not playing in window mode?
The ingame window mode is actually borderless window mode.

@Bob Barnsen

I don't like playing games in borderless. And I always get less fps in borderless than in fullscreen.

The game runs good though anyway.

I've uninstalled it though. I'm not in the mood now to play a melee peasant with a steel dildo. Laughing

Finally found the time to play it (I'm ~6 hours in), so far the game is definitely solid. Doesn't have the variety, lore or amount of bosses that the Souls franchise has, but it's a competent Scrap Souls in its own essential ghetto way, more enjoyable than Lords of the Fallen in my opinion. It's tough but not unfair, the combat system works well and the post-chappie industrial level design has enough complexity to be entertaining despite being mostly corridor-based (thanks to the multilayered structure - with shortcuts that are always satisfying to unlock Very Happy). The biggest difference is that the the environments aren't fully interconnected but the game plays more like a level-based Souls with a large explorable area, one resting point and one final boss.

The visuals are pleasant too, especially the lighting, nothing too fancy of course but the game has its atmospheric moments (with the second level giving some Dead Space-y vibes). Same for the performance (60fps on High/1080p here, enough for my low standards) and last but absolutely not least, damn perfect mouse controls *praises the scrap*. That's where this game beats the Souls hands down, m&kb is so responsive and precise that the game almost feels designed for it, a nice feeling for once.

The second boss is pretty cool. I missed the better weapon from the first boss, but I did get it from the second one.
