Almost all the artifacts were very weak, that was one slight letdown.
I wouldn't say they were weak. But my problem was the very limited skill hotbar.
I only put my most used skills on it.
Combo skills and artifact powers i rarely used, because selecting them throw those tiny buttons got annoying pretty fast.
But as you mentioned, the combat was rather easy anyways.
Especially if you took the time and pre-buffed your party before a fight.

They balanced the characters well imo (all my characters felt more or less equally powerful).
Almost good balance: I really missed a companion that wears heavy armor by default.
Which in return made me trash/sell all the heavy armor drops.
Obsidian currently has four games in development: Pillars of Eternity II; Tyranny DLC; Pathfinder: Adventures; and an unannounced title with a major publisher.
I really enjoyed Tyrany during this couple year drought of mediocre RPGs, so I hope they deliver a true Xpac, and it is not divided into 2 spread out installment shit like they pulled on PoE.

I think the last game should be a new kotor. They'll disappoint me if it's a new ip.
There is no way EA will ever outsource KotOR and I would rather the IP stay dead than EA make another game (any game, please die soon EA).
Well, it's not technically dead, with the MMO still having content made for it, but I hardly consider the MMO to have much in common with the single player games of yore.
I'm really curious about that large, unnanounced project of theirs too
But Tyranny DLC is not a bad thing either. I had my share of reservations about the game, but ocne I let go of what I wanted it to be and saw it for what it was, I had some tremendous time and ended up finishing the game twice.
Yeah that's a really strange DLC for this game, thought you could do your own portraits too so why would these ever be used, probably better community made packs available too for that matter although I guess dev support is one thing but I don't know.

Tyranny Publisher On Sales: "Everyone Was Hoping It Would Do Better"
Well, maybe Paradox should have invested more money into the game's development and not rely on kickstarter campaign.... Perhaps if Tyranny offered a more complete experience than it does now it would sell better..

Tyranny feels more incomplete than KOTOR2. It's an awesome game with great mechanics, but the game simply ends just when it's getting good. Just when the builds really start coming together and the gear that goes with them.
“The Bastard's Wound region is all new to Tyranny, with a host of new quests, and new people to kill, betray, or befriend,” Obsidian told Polygon. “With this new expansion, we delve deeper into the mysteries of Terratus as players bring Kyros' justice (or their own version of it) to a new corner of the Tiers.
“In addition to the new region, Bastard's Wound gives players a chance to learn more about their companions in a trio of quests tied to key members of their traveling group.”
Those key members are: Verse, Barik, and Lantry. The Bastard’s Wound will take the Fatebinder to a refugee settlement, where the enemies and victims of Kyros have understandably fled in secret. You’ll determine their fate, obvs.
Beyond that, the studio have revised skill training, rebalanced combat, and included the ability to respec your character and companions. If you think all of that’s worth starting again for, you can do so with all your stats, spells, and belongings intact in New Game Plus.
(Maybe) There might be a meatier expansion/DLC in the plans: linky
Spoiler:
Quote:
- New Travel Events: Random encounters while traveling may lead to new quests, or new events focused on companions and new NPCs
- Expanded Story: Learn more about the people and places of the Tiers with more than 40 vignettes to encounter on your journey.
- New items: Find over a dozen new items and countless new ways to gain loyalty and fear with your companions and the factions of Tyranny.
- More Replay Options: A free patch adds New-Game-Plus mode and character re-spec options for an easier way to explore other plotlines.
I was hoping for something more...definitive to properly conclude the journey, but that'll do it. NG+ sounds interesting(ish) also for a possible second playthrough (my first one was the 100% evil saga as a cocky cruel overlord )
Tyranny: Bastard’s Wound will be released upon the world on September 7, 2017. The expansion will be available from digital retailers everywhere for $14.99.
The Bastard’s Wound DLC adds a new region to the game, with a host of new quests and people to conquer. Delve deeper into the mysteries of Terratus as you bring Kyros' justice (or your own version of it) to a new corner of the Tiers. In addition to the new region, Bastard's Wound gives you a chance to learn more about your party in a trio of companion quests featuring Lantry, Verse, and Barik.
