i just fail to see to which audience is this aimed at
Fans of both DoW1 (pretty much classic rts) and DoW2 (party-based action rpg with RTS controls /RTTmaybe) expected something a bit different and DoW doesnt fully satisfy neither of them. Moba audience is elsewhere aswell with its pretty specific subgenre and mosly F2P models....
DoW3 to me feels in between those three but not really stand out in either of them

DoW II multiplayer is more RTT than anything else.

Hard to believe considering that SEGA put no real money into advertising this game.

SEGA and Relic Entertainment have repeated their last mistake rushing another game into an early launch while failing to generate enough excitement and prompting a backlash from the fans. But while some complaints are justified I feel like the majority are directed in the wrong direction. Players seem to have forgotten that Dawn of War II was a much different game from its predecessor yet a solid strategy nonetheless. Once again the Dawn of War series tries to reinvent itself as part of this dying genre by combining elements from previous titles into a fast paced gameplay inspired in parts by other games. Gameplay mechanics had to be removed and adjustments had to be made for this cross-over to work. However, beneath this massive change, and its many shortcomings, awaits a strategy game resembling the traits of old and a new feel that’s waiting to be discovered.
I’m glad I stuck with the game past my initial impression which was influenced by the upsetting issues and scarce content. Despite its flaws and quirks, Dawn of War III is a tactical and deceptively complex RTS in its own way with an immense capacity for epic and satisfying online matches. This is a solid platform to build upon and it’s up to SEGA and Relic to make up for their mistakes.

Well, if someone found some enjoyment, at least it wasn't a total waste. Still a disappointment for me.

It's a disappointment more than anything because of the problems and limited content, but weird design choices didn't help either. The multiplayer is much better than the first impression would let you believe tho.

Well, played the first three missions.
The campaign is "okay".
I thought you would only play as the boring Space Marines, but it seems you switch to the Orkz and Eldar too.
With the Eldar being the coolest so far.

Hmm, I've tried starting it at least 10 times by now, always getting some weird-ass error.
I'm on Win7 x64 as well.
Will see what happens on the .ru forum. But I wouldn't mind a proper scene release that actually works.

Did you guys also download the Fisher release and overwrite the necessary files in the baldman "package"?
I haven't done that as it seems absurd having to d/l an additional 28 gigs after I've downloaded 21 gigs by baldman already.

Okay, figured this one out. Voksi's emu was corrupted... Copied it once again, now the game runs fine.
Also, Voksi's emu was labelled as a virus, so I had to fuck around with avast to allow it to be copied in the first place.
Thanks for the tips and info!
