Been spending 30 mins last night in the first Karnaka mission just looking for coins and checking 'heart impressions' on each and every NPC from the harbor area only.
Just so you know, the heart impressions are random for the unimportant NPCs.
Yep, I noticed some repetitions and... while the dialogue of NPCs 'might' reveal a certain type of person / character, the 'heart' reveal is often different, showing some ill-intended person or some dark side / (hi)story. I suspect this is intended, as the world, alongside it's inhabitants has seemingly turned pretty dark.
finally got around to trying this out. It's ok I guess. One thing that bugs me is the having two weapons out at the same time thing. Let the player decide what they want in each hand. Unless I just totally glazed over it, I didn't see it mentioned in the tutorial and didn't see a way to specify in the options. The UI overall is pretty clunky to me. But it looks nice and runs well on high on my system. I won't even try very high or ultra as I'm sure it would choke.
Since they pretty much "fixed" it with the last update I'd say that it's money well spent.
But buying it as it was before that, for 40 or 60€? I'd be fucking pissed after finding how "good" it ran

Yea seems the latest patch fixed the performance problems pretty good.
Played the official demo earlier today and it ran very good. But i think that early level is no indication at all of how the later levels could run?

it runs worse than a game that looks like this SHOULD, of course...
but if you use the adaptive resolution thing, it'll still look 'fine' given that the art style is very simplistic anyway, and give you perfectly fine performance.
Nope, probably because devs don't want to see themselves and their creature in one of those "10 of the laziest tricks devs used to hide poor textures in their games" articles.
which is basically standalone game in vein of Old Blood for wolf .... and has its own topic
where the hell are mods
Yea my bad on that one I already asked to move that post to the correct thread though..
I can understand that sometimes the excitement for you is irrepressible (something that goes beyond my comprehension, we all have some fetishes I guess), but please keep it limited to the dedicated thread when possible. And sometimes...try to keep it in your pants
Regarding this matter, it's ok to post if a certain game gets the Denuvo treatment, for science - but that's about it (and in the right thread), as adding various hypotheses, derp crystal balls and so on as you can see only produces worthless off-topic/spam. I hope it's clear enough, let's not repeat this mess again! or I'll have to hit the awesome button :')
Man, the Clockwork Mansion already was pretty cool with all the shifting.
But now i'm in the mission where you get the Timepiece.
So cool!
Also i managed to reduce my quickloading by quite a bit.
Will only reload a save when i want to try something specifically and want it to suceed. Like with keycharacters.

No and no.
I had zero problems with the game on launch.
Everyone mentions that on day 0 the game had many many bugs, yet I've had none.
"games nowdays come unfinished"
That's how games were at any given time. Its just "back then, everything was good" thing.
Also I think the main reason why the game failed is due to the "more of the same" situation.
They've improved the graphics engine only a bit, but the specs went drastically upward. They've added a few new powers but thats all.
Its all good and fine, but it fails to make such a huge impact on people.
The same situation as bioshock 1 and 2.

Don't know about that. I finished the first Dishonored only like 2 weeks ago after several failed attempts in former years (don't know why, always got bored around the same level). Bought DH2 at the start of the steam sale, finished it in just a few (longer) sessions and absolutely loved it.
I think it improves on the first game in almost every aspect, the level design is among the best I have ever seen, the graphics are (IMO) substantially better and the new powers are interesting and satisfying to use. First run was low chaos and Emily, now doing a Corvo/high chaos New Game+ and it really is worth mentioning how both stealth and assault feel absolutely rewarding. Highly recommended to try it now to everyone that was turned off by the poor performance, didn't have any technical issues and the gameplay is just worth it.

yeah, it might have to do something with the "finished the original two weeks ago". Everyone else who loved the first one is confronted with a sequel that took years to be released, and the differences/additions are zero to none.
New levels, new powers but thats it.
No new groundbreaking features.
No "more freedom".
And personally I think they went ridicilous with the "smaller but detailed levels".
There is a point where the attention to detail has to stop and not hinder the scale of the levels. Here you press "w" for a second: new paper to read, wait bonecharm, there is a coin, no there are multiple ones and ammo, a throwable bottle.
End of the level: I've explored everything, lets see: You've missed 3000 coins and 5 paintings.
Also: breaking down 2 missions (asylum and the timepiece one) to 2 chapters really revealed the "we dont have any more idea". It was so disappointing. I've came to Karnacka docks and I've spent around 3-4 hours there exploring and when the ride to the asylum happened I was thinking: oh my god, what a great thing, Im just scratching the surface of the 2nd mission. And then the load screen came: "asylum=3rd mission" WTF???
These kind of things alway frustrate me. Like GTA5, heists missions. You could approach those missions in different ways, they are long. And then you realize there is only 4-5 of them.................
I mostly stick with Corvo too, Emily is better as a statue decoration in the throne room while Corvo is out conquering and killing in Karnacka.
...Well I did use stealth for the initial playthrough and went for a somewhat less bloody outcome, some of the after effects for your targets are going to be for life and could actually be seen as worse.
(IE the branding of that inquisitor in the first Dishonored.)
