I played it today and not much changed from the previous beta really other then the new mode which I kind of like. If it was F2P I would probably give it a go every so often but I would not buy this for $20. It is ok in small does for me but I could not see myself playing matches all day long for weeks on end without just getting super bored.
Don't like it too. It's too slow after new Quake. And HUD is terrible. And those big ass crosshairs. And again, champions based shooter with loot boxes, yey, so fun. At least in Quake every champion has only one active ability.
Between this and QC i choose QC.

In what arena shooter you see yourself playing matches all day long for weeks on end? I'm curious, because I don't think this genre is capable of that unless you are part of a dedicated few.
I like the game, it's fast enough and has some cool heroes/abilities/weapons. I like the level design far and the graphics are pretty good, but I wouldn't mind some bigger maps. I don't see myself playing this a lot, but it's a good distraction from the more simulator type of shooters I usually play. The UI clearly needs some work and what the hell is that font the game uses?!
So? Almost every shoot is coming to consoles nowadays. Some are going through PC beta testers first, but they still land on consoles.
The design and gameplay is altered if it needs to be playable and enjooyable on controllers than if it were only for m/kb. Most people dont realize how profound and deep and many the changes are between games made to fully utilize m/kb or controllers. I was listening at one point to a dev conference about Jedi Outcast back in the day. The differences and stuff they had to do in oorder for the game to play on pads is mind boggling, i couldnt believe it. The fact that most shooters end on consoles today means we live in a sad world and basically every shooter is much lesser than it could be becuse of this.
this last beta is pretty much the final version, game is not bad but unreal engine 4 is crap, constant freezes at beginning of a map to load shit and menu lags
I got none of those problems, but I get some strange visual artefacts sometimes. I like it, I like it a lot. Some of the classes have an incredible design and the dynamic of the gameplay is that of a true arena shooter. I'll probably buy this, but it won't hit home with most players, it's just a way too difficult game for the today's average gamer.
if youre not gonna put many hours into it then save your pessos, or just play quake champions.
do you play on ultra settings? i have same sutter for every graphic level, and menu sometimes feels like sub 20fps. i think it needs an ssd for this, or a new nvidia driver.

I don't like Quake Champions and that free to play business model is utter shit. With the latest drivers from Nvidia the game runs better, but I never had problems with stuttering.
I play gears of war 4, quake and unrealtournament, and i can tell you, this game tests your reflexes to the MAX, its the faster paced of all these for sure, even on quake i dont struggle as much as on this, granted it might be a matter of putting more hours into it, but i didnt struggle on those games mentioned and on this im kinda struggling, that, or im getting old for this ahah
It has a lot of gravity fights on the air, wich need very nice aiming, especialy with a rocketlauncher mid air shooting other ppl flying around.
On the grounds its not easy either, some chars run at the speed of light and slide and melee you, most guns are also hard to shoot, but in a good way, it takes skill to use them, you have to time your reloads so you dont end up running out of bullets also..
Heavy classes feel heavy like they should and hard to maneuver and fast classes are RLY fast, so fast that you have to get used to it.. ahah
OW and Paladins got nothing to do with this game, those are mostly hero shooters with pretty weak shooting mechanics. LawBreakers is a slightly modernized arena shooter with insanely high skill cap.

An OW pro playeer sayed that Lawbreakers and Paladins have both a good skill cap when OW doesnt have.
too bad so many noobs in this game, full of them cocksuckers and just can't enjoy it more, its really bad when only one player tries to play the objective vs all of the enemy team...thats why i like a free for all mode. even if you play the game without doing the objective you can't win if some weasel from their team starts sneaking everywhere doing all the work.
