I doubt they have a new version planned, they barely got the controllers out, they have a lawsuit and you don't make new sales by getting all your customers to buy your old system.

Too many people waiting for Gen 2... not enough buying into VR as it is. Zenimax trying to rape Oculus out of business, and Valve refusing to lower their pricing... all of this is going to make VR in the future a difficult proposition, which is a shame as it is so close to becoming mainstream - regardless of what the naysayers are saying.

Nice... my 1060 is recommended card for this, whatever it's worth.
But I guess it's stupid idea to buy one now anyway.

And I only have 2 usb 3 ports and 2500k is below recommended even at 4.5 ghz I guess

was thinking about selling mine, but meh, i'd lose half of what i gave almost, i'll keep it in a drawer somewhere probably Very Happy (wasn't expecting to use it a LOT, but probably more than the hmm 10-15h i've used it since decemeber last year). 3D vision is far superior and something i use all the time, very comfortable and compatible with most games, cost me next to nothing with a used 3D-vision projector (gave something like $100 for 2 glasses + projector), and yes it isnt VR but stereoscopic 3D is the best effect any game (first person especially) can have for immersion.

449 euros is really a nice price, very tempting with the touch controllers + xbox one pad + free games. need a new controller soon, so exclude the one pad from the price -> 410 euros for the rift, oculus touch and the free games. its very very rempting

no, but you do pave the way by grabbing a bigger market share, making more sales from software. The people sitting on the fence arent the ones likely to purchase the full priced new releases, but at least you instill greater confidence in those who already own rifts that the system has a big userbase and more exclusive software. And besides, if a new version was coming out, it makes sense to get as many sales out of the older obsolete hardware as you can.

not saying im right, but it wouldnt surprise me if theyre expanding the userbase before they drop a new version next year.

I paid around 300 euro for mine (when touch just came out), so its extremely cheap.

Touch is the best part with Oculus imo, the headset is quite uncomfortable.. Perhaps especially for us who don't have a really large head, the nose is inside the unit, having to breath in it sucks, especially in the beginning since it has that "new car smell" (which is toxic and cancerogenous).

Yup, it's a completely next level shit. Looking forward trying out more horror games, and buying my self a joystick & steering wheel and trying out more vehicular games.

From memory it's just a normal dock, so you request docking by using the left side comms menu, selecting the station name and request docking... then fly through the big blue letterbox... lower landing gear... find your bay.. and don't crash Laughing

Still didn't get any tracking number - my neighbor brought me a package a few minutes ago, but it only contained the touch controllers *sigh* (box 2 of 2)
I read that some people also got it delivered in 2 boxes and on different days, so I don't fear that box 1 got lost, but I don't have any time to test it tomorrow Sad

Oh boy, my rift has started to lose audio in the right headphone everytime i move the strap. Reading around i found out this a hugely common problem where the ribbon that handles the connection of the headphone has a design flaw it seems. Its always the right side. A lot of people with that problem.....

Im out of warranty by a month.... ffs. currently waiting for support to tell me what to do, hopefully ill get an RMA..... if not..... fuck me.
