Is it safe to assume that having found one will make it easier to find another?
(If so, he should just release and let someone else find the next one!)
Theoretically, if he did release the exploit, how close would it get us to playing backups? What else would need to happen? Would it just be a matter of building tools, or are there more hacks needed?
xbox scorpio will be here before and if there is ever going to be some kind of real piracy on ps4. Seems like console hacking is dead - so just buy the fcking games.
Im selling my launch day never updated xbox one and the 1.76 ps4... fck it.
Seems like console hacking is dead - so just buy the fcking games.
No,its not. people needs to stop with "the scene is dead" just because some things taking a bit more time.. Look at Denuvo... people whined "cracking game is dying" but recently with have CPY,and now even Baldman(and I bet more will come) that kicking Denuvo ass.
Things just taking more time,3DS and Vita got hacked, and the Switch has some kernel exploits.
A good example will be the Vita case(took more time to hack, and PS4 and even Bone has some known exploit leaked).
PS4 is not harder to hack then Vita or Even the IOS(These days), Its more about the hackers that are working on it, And their willing to release it.
(Yifanlu, the one who hacked the vita said that).
So,I still think kernel exploit for 4.0x will be leaked eventually has the console basically hacked closed doors(known hacker on the scene hacked it but have yet to release it).

PS4 MTX KEY announced for preorder, a PS4 Modchip for gamesharing
Scene websites have revealed earlier today that mod stores started accepting preorders for the PS4 MTX Key. This hardware modification of the PS4 will allegedly allow people to share games with an unlimited number of friends.
What is the PS4 MTX Key?
The PS4 MTX Key is an upcoming hardware modification for the PS4. It allegedly allows groups of friends to share games between their PS4s with no limitation. In other words, one of your friends buys a (digital) game on the PSN through a shared account, then the whole group can play the game on their own PS4.
Playstationhax reports that some PS3/PS4 scene veterans have confirmed the device is legit.
The only difference between gamesharing and piracy is that initially, one of the users in the group needs to buy the original game, which can then be shared with a potentially unlimited group of friends.
The PS4 MTX will require some good soldering skills, and a significant amount of trust with your friends
The risks of unofficial gamesharing with PS4 MTX KEY
The catch is that gamesharing through these devices apparently involves sharing the original account’s password, so it requires a strong amount of trust between the people sharing the games. Such a constraint will obviously limit the impact of the device on Sony’s business, but could still be a good deal for group of friends willing to play for cheap. That being said, it’s pretty sure Sony will do whatever they can to prevent the spread of such devices, included closing the accounts suspected to infringe on gamesharing.
It’s worth mentioning that Sony officially allows gamesharing, although with limitations to 2 accounts (3 with this technique). There’s no question that using such a hardware modification is a breach of the PSN Terms and conditions, combined with copyright infringement. Gamesharing, due to the limitations mentioned above, is probably less damaging than widespread piracy, but will still be considered as such in the eyes of manufacturers.
Google-translated versions of the Chinese original manual for the PS4 MTX Key are circulating. Here’s that English doc (thanks to playstationhax for the mirror upload) which kind of give you a hint on how the device will work, and confirms the risks associated with password sharing on the account.
At an announced price of $60 to $90 depending on the store, this does not sounds like an expensive device. If anything, it is less expensive than going through shops in Brazil and other places that used similar techniques but would only share the end result (a console filled with games) rather than how to reproduce the technique.

But of course there’s no guarantee the PS4 MTX won’t be blocked by Sony soon after release. For now, the device claims it is compatible with the latest PS4 Firmware, firmware 4.71.
The PS4 MTX Key is scheduled for release on July 24th.
Stay tuned on our PS4 Jailbreak page for more details.

Note: As always, our policy here at wololo.net is clear: this device has nothing to do with homebrew and is solely designed for “piracy”. As such we do not condone using the device. The news of this device however is big enough that we felt the need to report on it.
"progress" in some terms yes, but homebrew is much more important than such stuff. and i think sony might block such devices soon. most likely based on the brazilian method, but maybe they use some entry points which might be useful for the scene, we will see when someone is able to debug it
So I can go from buying my games digitally (at stupidly inflated prices) and sharing with 1 person, to buying my games digitally (at stupidly inflated prices) and sharing with 2 people!
And all I need to do is some complex soldering on all three devices?!
The recent bans were not directly releated to me talking about Denuvo(not only ixigia said that himself... Actually the latest one have nothing with my recent posts as looks like some of the mods suddnly decided to ban some users out of nowhere, whatever it was a "joke" or something).
Topic:
Yea, I am fully aware BlackFin is not same team has Henkaku nor same exploit same thing with PS4, however It is maybe a sign that we are finally starting to get pulblic releases to the PS4's scene as we all know a lots of things kept private for ages for now, that's pretty much what my latest posts was about.

Thus this doesn't mean anything about an upcoming kernel exploit (which is what henkaku is).
Stop making assumptions jackQ please. Then you are wondering yourself why you are eventually banned...
Haven't posted in a while and will probably continue the trend but. The fuck is wrong with you? Really now.
@Mods, when does it become okay for the constant trolling to be just accepted. Whatever you do, ban jack, ban cyclone, ban harry, ban whoever i don't even care. Just do something so i don't have to read through this shit anymore.
Today I received a copyright infringement notice from Sony’s lawyers, asking me to remove a file we’re hosting here at wololo.net.
The file is a zip containing an old version of CTurt’s open source PS4 SDK, of which the original can be found on github here, and has been there for years now.
I’m pretty convinced (note: not a lawyer!) that CTurt’s work does not consist in copyright infringement. However what’s much more interesting to me is that this does not seem to be the work that Sony actually are after.
Instead, it appears Sony have launched a witch hunt against a recently leaked version of their (official) PS4 SDK, a leak from a team named KromeMods.
A few other scene websites including playstationhax have received bogus DMCA complaints. Playstationhax had to take down an article reporting on the leak. The PlaystationHax article was not linking to any copyrighted material, and yet they have been asked to take down their article that was merely talking about the leak. We, here, at wololo.net, have been asked to remove a file that is not connected to that copyrighted material, but shares a similar name.
In other words, Sony’s lawyers are visibly doing some broad keyword search and blasting website owners and internet providers with takedown notices for everything that remotely looks like it might be related to the copyrighted file. Hey, that’s cost effective I guess, more than actually confirming if actual copyright infringement happened or not on the sites.
Of course, some sites where the leaked SDK was actually being distributed, including mediafire, have taken down the infringing file. Scene websites that were distributing the file have either removed their links or made their articles visible to members only. Again, we at wololo.net didn’t even discuss that PS4 SDK leak until today, let alone distribute it.
For now, I have decided to not take down CTurt’s SDK. I replied to Sony’s lawyers that they made a mistake with their takedown request for the files we host. Obviously, I do not have the intent to fight a long legal battle if they insist, and I might have to remove CTurt’s files from our server, even though that would be a collateral victim of some unrelated battle.
For reference, Sony’s Lawyers’ statement below (because the best way to fight abusive take down requests is to make them public):
I am optimistic enough to believe it will be this year, the number of things that actually getting relased to the public starting to grow, The modchip wasn't something that speciel but it is a start.
ofc sony closed the door very fast, thats why it was not public in the first play. everyone involved knew its easy fixable, the chinese fuckers just wanted to make fast money
Yah, that entire method/product was shady as fuck. Hopefully they didn't make too much money off that. Any sane person would not have near that method.

Thanks for the news. Ordered 10 ps4 from amazon so I'm ready to go for this year.
But that's just it. Just like the Wii U scene, it's all bullshit rumour, noise and egocentric potential trolls.
Unless something is released, I take it all with a pinch of salt.
Isn't the WiiU hacked and even emulated already?
Even with some fake news(like Cobra) things still happening, and will happen,I doubt we will wait another year for PS4's hacks.
Every year nostradamus is doing these sort of posts with extreme reliable sources (hint : his crystal ball)
Been looking to this thread since the opening, it's hilarious
Specially some posts saying "welcome to 2017" from KC (although 2017 isn't over yet so we'll see)
And to think he has been bashing me and reporting me for all these years saying I'm "pessimistic" and every insult you can say about me... Time has spoken, I didn't.

Yes, But I would gladly pay for chinese hack that basically jailbreak your device and is not fixable at least as long you don't update ur console, but I guess if this will pop out it will be cloned to death and free method will probably surface soonish.
Don't know why chinese hackers don't try to hack the FreeBDS kernel?
hackers manged to do it on pretty much every FW, but only up to 1.76 was released to the public..
I guess those chinese "hackers" are indeed cheap and looked just for easy cash instead doing the more hard work.
