Definitely much better than I expected after the bad rep.
There was also potential for a brilliant game. Pity they did not put more effort into it.

I had to finish it because I finished all three mass effects
For sure the game is huge with a lot of missions and story, I can only imagine what resource was put it in, plus its open game with missions and "good" action fights
That all would be good if same insane writers and loonies did not make most characters (almost all) kinda flowed, insane or what the fuck sindrome they have!
They are all in love with rider ALL, I mean WTF even krogar is in love with me!!! they all have so big soul like they are perfect being full of love
It go so far, only conclusion is main team is heavy sick person with no real ground of reality!
Whats worst all chick that love me are ugly (cora the fucking bitch) or alien rest are all males! even characters which are not GAY are in love with me if you click it!!!
Totaly insane, not only that but main story is bland and plain, also most missions I did not even read the bla bla what they say, few were interested but its clear that most writers in bioware are sick ppl, and I am sure they are beyond help
Also still can`t believe even after 1.09 patch there is still no option to cut animation which got on nerves on all ppl
So huge potential, it could easy be game of the year! if I am CEO of the bioware I would suck at once those ill freaks guilty of all the shit inside!
Andromeda is one of the few games where open world works!

Did you folk get much CTDs? I got 28 crash dumps after finishing the game. I suspect it's my 2GB 960 being out of memory often.
Asus, B550, 3700X, 3060, 32GB.

That's really the thing that irritated me the most. Every conversation was like a minefield of potential gay/alien sex.
I think they really went fucking overboard with their romance + equality agenda.
There should be an option to turn this shit off. And I mean ALL romance crap. I am 37 years old. I don't need any virtual dating and sex simulator in my games.
Also if you had to, at least give my character an option to what sex he is attracted to, so I can avoid all these awkward moments later on during the game.
Sexual Orientation o straight o gay o I don't know!?
How hard can that be ^^

Trying to avoid gay sex every time talking to Gil was a great mini-game IMO.

One or two fucked up persons are fine but almost whole crew and most main characters are insane, even the 1000 old krogan?!
It got past agenda as most characters are defected and same on sexuality which is kinda insane (being open to all sex as all of them are no gender beings)

Really? It is super early to avoid. Like for all characters.

Of course, it is easy to avoid, by simply not clicking the romance oriented answers, BUT even then the guys, not just Gil, he is just "on another level", keeps sounding like all he wants to do is tap that ass ^^

Gave it another shot with 1.09, same problems as before.
Sorry biowere, not installing win10 just to try and see if this runs properly with that

Gil is ok. Unless you try to romance him as a female ryder you probably won't know he's gay. That's how characters should be written I guess: as people, not stupid stereotypes.
Zevran was an omnisexual whorebard, it's no wonder he tried to fuck you. But at least he could take a hint and stop.
Now Dorn from BG:EE, that guy just didn't take no for an answer.

Zevran was an awesomely written character, his behavior fit his tumultuous past perfectly. I don't get why people complain about him.

Zevran was easy to deal with. Just slit his throat the first time you encounter him and problem solved, permanently. For two games. Things went downhill after they took away the murder knife.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-07-28-the-four-times-ea-mentioned-mass-effect-andromeda-in-its-financial-results
Quote: | Last night, EA revealed its sales results for the first quarter of this financial year (April, May and June 2017). The stage was set for EA to finally talk sales numbers. But, perhaps unsurprisingly, it did not do so.
Andromeda launched to underwhelming reviews and a fan backlash. How did EA spin things? Turns out, after downsizing Mass Effect Andromeda satellite studio BioWare Montreal and reportedly putting the franchise on ice, the publisher simply decided not to bring it up. |
What a shame...

Also, the whole downsizing thing seems still a bit wrong. THose guys weren't "let go", they just moved into another floor of the same building and are helping with the finishing touches on Battlefront II.

I have hard time seeing this franchises being truly on "Ice".. Yea it will take some years but I am pretty sure we will see more titles in the series eventually after they will at least try to learn their lessons.

Mass Effect: Andromeda was a financial success
https://www.pcgamesn.com/mass-effect-andromeda/mass-effect-andromeda-sales-numbers
Quote: | "Year-on-year growth was driven by the Mass Effect: Andromeda sales, captured in the quarter and by FIFA,” CFO Blake Jorgensen explains. “Digital net sales were $681 million, a new record for the first quarter, and up $113 million on the year-ago period. The increase reflects strength in live services, together with our mobile business. In addition, Mass Effect: Andromeda was a significant contributor. Full game PC and console downloads generated net sales of $111 million, 32% higher than last year. This was driven by Mass Effect: Andromeda sales captured in the quarter.” |
Quote: | “Our industry-leading Frostbite engine is now powering development of a dozen new titles across our portfolio,” CEO Andrew Wilson says. “It is continually engineered alongside our world-class technology platform for games and services, enabling our creative teams to leverage sophisticated data and insights to conceptualise and build the most incredible new experiences for our players. And across the company, research teams like SEED are working in areas like neural networks derived from our data sets, cloud infrastructure to deliver streaming experiences, virtual humans and AI. These concepts will dramatically shape how players interact and experience games over the next five years and beyond.” |
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Nice spin, but it doesn't hold water. We know MEA was fairly cheap to develop by AAA standards at around $40 million, but I'd expect that they spent at least that much again, if not more, in marketing. While it may well have been a "significant contributor", it's pretty clear that sales were well below forecasts/expectations. They've probably broken even and will see modest profits over the game's lifetime, but you don't run half-price sales on a game a month or two after launch unless something has gone drastically wrong. For comparison, ME3 sold about 3.5 million copies in it's launch quarter, grossing around $200 million, so it's highly unlikely to be anywhere near that.

Keep in mind, that the game does have an active multiplayer component with in-game micro transactions.
So it's probably still making money and the fact that they keep adding multiplayer content should be proof of that as well.
Also, and I think we should know that by now, a bad review/score doesn't necessarily mean "bad sales". They probably broke even just with the predurrdurrs alone. ^^
