Numerous writers have since criticised the project, noting how Game of Thrones did little to represent people of colour while the upcoming show will heavily feature slavery.

Benioff added how the outrage is “premature”, explaining how the scripts have yet to be written: “We don’t have an outline yet. We don’t even have character names. So everything is brand new and nothing’s been written.

“I guess that’s what was a little bit surprising about some of the outrage. It’s just a little premature. You know, we might f**k it up. But we haven’t yet.”

Seems a bit strange to take such a chance at this time, when every person seems to see some kind of discrimination and repression at every corner. It'll either be white supreme race enslaving blacks (yeah, won't happen), or black slaves kicking white people ass.

Strange? It's totally expected, your typical anti-white Hollywood SJW bullshit that we see all the time these days. Soros approved and perhaps funded even Wink

Historically whites has been enslaved in larger numbers than blacks, yet there has never been a series or even a movie about it (to my knowledge at least). Hollywood would never touch that subject, and most there are too brainwashed and illiterate to even know this.

If it as GOT production level/ Character development its all good. Even do the setting is not appealing.
It does seem a odd pick, US centered and a SJW magnet

It's obviously about whites being oppressive and abusive and eventually getting their asses kicked. it's basically the story from start to finish, exluding some boo-ho-hoo moments where someone's "wife" gets raped and killed.

The backlash against this has been silly. This is exactly The Man in the High Castle, and I don't recall too many people being up in arms about that. If the characters aren't caricatures there is no reason this couldn't work. Brad Pitt produced 12 Years a Slave and was LITERALLY the Jesus figure in the movie, so I don't think this "too many white faces" argument washes.

Probably because white slavery in America was not the same as black slavery in America. It's also incredibly dishonest to make the argument "Oh demographic X has been enslaved at higher numbers than demographic Y!" when demographic X is magnitudes larger in size than Y. There's a reason the image of the "welfare queen" is that of a black woman and not of a white one.

Watching like EP4 of Ozark two days ago I thought "It would be nice to have a historic show about the ACW, that's on the Confederate point of view, that's not an obvious cheesy anti-slavery pamphlet, and that would accurately depict the era of the time. Naaaah, it would never happen".

Reading this, my mind is fucking blown.
It's gonna be PC crap for sure.

Not to reference myself, but people said the same thing about 12 Years. . .in particular what they saw as Fassbenders cartoonish depiction of white slave ownership. Long before any had seen the movie. We know how that turned out.
