That shifter is one of my favorite mods Very Happy It reduces the throw of the shift by 60%, and it's very "notchy" and mechanical when you shift. Feels super solid, the complete opposite of that mushy, "soft" shifting you get in normal cars.

Under the hood it's still +50hp over stock. Can't do much more and still pass inspection here in Sweden. It's either no Forced induction and I can use the car legally with no real issues with the police (and don't you think I stand out to them?), or install turbo/supercharger and the car won't pass inspection, and it's illegal to drive on the road, which results in nice, heavy fines whenever I'm pulled over. And a car that doesn't pass inspection is impossible to sell too, unless you almost give it away..

Custom tune, E85 and the best header available for the car, which is also a catless header. Stock catted header is very restrictive.

Man your GT86 looks so fucking nice, it has been my dream car from the day 1 it got released, getting stock one in couple months, have finally job that allows me to do so.

Been also watching Subaru BRZ´s (they are generally couple grand cheaper), but Toyota is the way to go.

Thanks man Smile

And that's nice! Have you driven one? They are super fun to drive on curvy roads. There are still people who dont think you can have fun with 200hp in a lightweight RWD coupe, and people who test drive these on the highway or similar.. The only car that comes close in "fun factor" for twisty roads where I live was my Integra Type-R. Fully adjustable suspension, K20 engine swap with 250+ hp etc. That thing would swallow corners whole, just incredibly fun.

Yes i tested out one couple weeks ago (highway / mixed curvy small roads near my work place), handling was awesome and 200hp is more than enough for my needs in this kind of chassis (i want to keep my license Laughing). Absolutely love how the car looks, Toyota has nailed the design so good.

The GT86 also seems to be pretty reliable car as main car, in other words i can use it also in winter which is the number 1 requirement for me, since i live in Finland and dont want to own 2 separate cars for summer and winter Very Happy.

Yeah, the car is very reliable for a sports car Smile I know someone who has just passed 200 000 km's in his 86 Very Happy

Mine is a 2013, has done 28 000 km's Laughing

Go test Mazda MX-5 ND, RWD 160hp - a lot of fun in corners Laughing

Dropped the ride height a slight touch lower, and detailed with ceramic paint protection.

Looks sick man Surprised If I should leave my current company I have to return my BMW, but I could then go out and get myself something that I own, rather than lease. This would leave me some room to play around with the car too Smile

I'm looking for something sporty, at least 4 seats and also reasonable to drive (f.e. if I want to drive on vacation/long distance). Would the GT86 fit the description?

BTW the only issue I would have is that vmax is not suitable for the autobahn... but then again if I should no longer drive a lease and have to pay for fuel myself, I won't drive 250 wherever possible Laughing

Thanks! Smile

It wouldn't, because it really only has two seats. The rears are good if you're a kid and don't take up much room. But for an adult, it's worthless.

I bought a 2013 scion frs (now known as Toyota 86) in april after my Honda got totaled... love it. Got the manual shift of course.

Your car looks ridiculous, but glad you enjoy it. They really are a blast to drive. I was going to get a Miata/MX5 but figured i'd get tired of daily-ing such a small car.. plus its nice to be able to go on a trip with the fiancée now and then and be able to fit all our luggage. Compared to my mom's 2016 Miata, it turns in much sharper and is definitely stiffer. Her car even at 600 miles has such a silky smooth transmission that it made me a bit jealous.

I've added a voodoo shift knob, valenti tail lights, and corsa exhaust on mine. I get anywhere from 30-33 mpg which is pretty good for a 200hp sports car. After buying I did a full clay/polish/sealant and it still has that "Wet" look to it when its clean.

It's been reliable except for tail lights that leaked. they were replaced anyway and I also replaced them with better-than-factory gaskets.

I would do headers but living in California, I would fail emissions.

Aren't there CARB legal headers? The headers and tune is like night and day IMO. Would never go back to stock on any of the two points Smile

Well, most headers remove the catalytic converter. And the headers that do have the catalytic converter don't have CARB approval. so you will fail emissions instantly. You could swap them in and out for every emissions test I guess, but too much pain in the ass for too little gain.

The catback exhaust did maybe 1-2 horsepower but sounds amazing. Headers would also ruin my no-drone exhaust sound.

Headers with a cat (these would pass visual inspection by a cop) only give you about 5-10 hp to the wheels... so not worth the $1000 for me anyways.

That dead spot in the torque curve isn't that bad IMO, just downshift to get rid of it Smile

SiN, any plans for a supercharger ?

When talking supercharger, I would have the same issue as you, kind of. We have yearly inspections on all cars, but that involves a lot more than just smog. Converting a NA car to forced induction would fail this test, no doubt Sad

Here when making a radical change like charging an engine, you make the modification and then go to a technical verification, which verifies that it's road safe and legalizes the new state of the car, updating the new specs in the car's sheet.

Although it's much more limited than in western Europe. Here if you put a new engine, that hasn't been put by the factory in this chassis - they fail you at the start.

But sometimes we get second hand cars from Europe with no vin for the engine...Very Happy
They you are still limited to factory engines for this chassis and fuel type, but you can swap engines all you like, and as long as it looks factory - nobody can object. Laughing

Also your cat is in the headers?!

Mine is at the end of the exhaust manifold..
