6Gb/s vs 30Gb/s..

Better just using a Sata drive of higher capacity for the same price. To be honest unless you are shifting large amounts of data between pci-e drives all the time there is pretty much no gain from buying an m.2 nvme drive right now.

For normal usage that kind of SSDs over normal sata (good) SSD... the difference is nonexistant, maybe good choice if you want windows to boot 1 second faster. Ofcourse then it makes sense if you are moving large files it would be good, and have 2 of them.

http://www.guru3d.com/news_story/canadian_etailer_publishes_intel_8th_gen_desktop_cpu_prices.html

Quote:

If all pre-announcements and rumors have been right, tomorrow Intel will announce their 8th gen Core desktop processors. In Canada at an etailer called PC Canada, the prices have leaked.

It seems that prices are going upwards a bit, the Core i7 8700K would be roughly 5% more expensive, the i5 8600K nearly 8%. The rest stays under a 5% margin. Website videocardz spotted these results:

INTEL BOXED 8TH GEN INTEL I7-8700K PROCESSOR [BX80684I78700K]: $484.44
INTEL BOXED 8TH GEN INTEL I7-8700 PROCESSOR [BX80684I78700]: $407.73
INTEL BOXED 8TH GEN INTEL I5-8600K PROCESSOR [BX80684I58600K]: $338.00
INTEL BOXED 8TH GEN INTEL I5-8400 PROCESSOR [BX80684I58400]: $237.58
INTEL BOXED 8TH GEN INTEL I3-8350K PROCESSOR [BX80684I38350K]: $233.41
INTEL BOXED 8TH GEN INTEL I3-8100 PROCESSOR [BX80684I38100]: $152.51

The release tomorrow should be a paper launch as there are no processors available or stock to be found anywhere. For more info on the specififcation of these coffee lake processors, have a look here.

Code:

Processor Line   7th Gen   8th Gen   Difference
Core i7-x700K    $462.41    $484.44    +4.8%
Core i7-x700    $406.35    $407.73    +0.3%
Core i5-x600K    $313.95    $338.00    +7.7%
Core i5-x400    $235.87    $237.58    +0.7%
Core i3-x350K    $241.82    $233.41    -3.5%
Core i3-x100    $149.08    $152.51    +2.3%

Mind you these are CAD prices not listed at USD. So the 8700K at 484.44 would be 389 USD and 329 Euro. These prices would be exclusive of VAT. PC Canada has not delivery ETA yet mentions that the procs are estimated to arrive on 2017-09-16

Well considering that intel´s newest competitor (7800X, Skylake-X 6 core / 12 thread), costs half more than Ryzen 1600 while being slightly faster (consumes over 20% more power tho). Those Skylake-X CPU´s also seems to be made out of shit, since there are reports of burned contact pins when overclocking and runs damn hot since they have toothpaste between IHS and core).

It´s a no brainer to go for Ryzen, unless you are intel fanatic.

I ordered yesterday 1950X + ROG Zenith Extreme mobo, cant wait to start ripping threads, last time i had AMD was Phenom II x6 Laughing.

What about single core performance and games that can't use 2+ cores properly?

Less whining, more Ryzen buying dude.

Also did you miss that future Beth games will be optimized for Ryzen?

And one more thing I noticed:

What means AMD CPUs left?

And Intel CPUs right?

Cause I'm pretty sure i3 7100, i5 7400 and i5 7500 are Intel and not AMD.

I'm taking everything back what I said previously...

Whoever made this chart is retarded and assuming everyone else is retarded, too.

What's so retarded about it? It's just two columns, not sorted by manufacturer or anything.

No, I did not.

But the graphs still seem accurate even if the info on the right might confuse you a little.

The AMD (left) / Intel (right) applies only to the bar graph, not the legend on the right side of the chart.

Each month has 2 bars, the one on the left is AMD; the one on the right is Intel. I agree with you that the chart is not clear when, as an example, the AMD "r5 1400" is the exact same color code as the Intel "i7 7820X". The first 4 AMD CPUs in the legend color match the last 4 CPUs on the Intel side.

der8auer got i9-7980XE up to 6.1Ghz on all 18 cores / 36 threads with LN2 cooling. 5.6Ghz stable gets insane 5149 multithreaded score in cinebench, what is more impressive the CPU consumed over 1000 fucking watts at 5.6ghz clocks Laughing

8700K will be very good gaming CPU, slightly better IPC than Kaby Lake, 5Ghz+ clocks for 6 cores / 12 threads, yummy (when delidded ofcourse, since this uses still the shit paste between IHS and core). One thing is annoying tho, Intel changes their sockets now like every year?. This sounds like true successor for 2500K, will last probably forever Very Happy.
