Lmao are you kidding me, it's 2017 and they are still rolling with these shitty P2P "servers" I tried to give this game a chance, but everytime i read something about it there is more bad news.
Have fun playing in 4k @ 60fps on a nice p2p server hosted by a kid in russia on his mum's 2g tethered wifi connection guise
According to the article on recent EDGE magazine, there is about ~80 missions/activities in-game at launch.
Destiny had about ~41 missions/activities.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

You're exaggerating just a little bit. P2P is fine for most people. Assuming their connection load is balanced properly, you should be getting lumped together with people in your area, that have similar connections to yours.

That's.... even worse. I am trying to avoid most Balkan players as much as possible. Being forced to play with them is getting me back 10 years ago when the internet speeds were so bad the only option was to play in some partly working Bulgarian servers with people whose brains were barely functioning.
Aren't we supposed to be more globalized now? I thought such MMO games are meant to be played with people all around the world (or at least continent because of the latency barrier) ?!?!
Destiny's setting is actually pretty great, although it wasn't used properly in the first game - story-wise it sucked until The Taken King, which wasn't awesome either, just proper.
But, I found Destiny's action infinitely better than Borderlands in general. Better shooting mechanics, faster pace, more options and abilities for character classes and much, much better weapon design / feel. Basically, it feels like a proper shooter - Borderlands never did.
Also, I wouldn't judge tactics and challenge factor based on one or first few missions from the very beginning of the game. Original Destiny was adequately challenging and tactical, especially when it comes to its group content (which is what counts the most, IMO).
I won't compare it to Division, since I haven't played that one long enough (didn't like it at all).
Being as how your opinion and mine about games match at a rate of about 95%, this is very promising news for me.
But of course, that was on consoles. M+K makes console shooters trivial affairs. You don't need tactics, when you can hand out headshots consistently (which is easy with m+k).
Do you think there is enough challenge to be had on a PC?
Sorry, completely missed your question before, only found it while mining the thread for trailers. Yeah, I think there's a possibility it'll be an adequately challenging game. Destiny's challenge in Strikes and Raids comes from good boss design and a solid focus on actual teamwork, so I think it should translate well to a PC title.

Good marketing, Activision & console audience, lack of similar game?
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

looks boring and uninspiring, like wtf, borderlands 2 looked better n more fun, if that is their hype footage, this game can go fuck itself wtf ... no visual impact of bullets, no progressive damage model, zero weakspot mechanics, zero feedback or combos , just press left maus
button, empty clip, reload and jump around like an idiot and repeat for 10 minutes cause the boss has bullshit high HP for no reason other then to waste ur time , and it looks like halo shit from 10 years ago these guns n gameplay , any reviewer hyping this turd i can add to my bullshit list, how can they not have learned anything from borderlands bossfight game mechanics problems and improved on it.

I sure hope they simply forgot to crank up the FoV.
15 seconds and had to turn that video off due to 45 degree fov.

Played D2 on PS4 when it was in open beta, watched tons of gameplay videos from D1 and now this for PC version of D2 and i just don't see absolutely nothing good in that game.
As people have said, it looks like stripped down version of Borderlands.

It's fun with friends. Solo can be absolutely boring. But co-op is mindless fun where you just empty clip while chatting. Sounds silly but it is sometimes fun.

Do tell? Curious. I know only Warframe. Defiance (if it counts) was meh.

Wanted to try Fornite but after reading your comments, I didn't bother. Pointless progression and already repetitive didn't sound good. Will wait for it to go F2P or at least till they add more stuff.

Escape from Tarkov is one of the most promising games I've ever played in a development state (I'm not kidding or over exaggerating, the shooting and gun mechanics themselves are worth all the money). It's basically a loot shooter with simulator mechanics. It's not quite there yet (actually is far from being there), but if the devs accomplish what they want, it will be amazing, tho not for everybody.
My problem with Destiny 2 (aside of the tech which ain't that amazing and the fact that they keep pulling some shit all the time) is the shooting and that 3pp - 1pp swapping. I don't like how these gameplay elements area executed.

Both are the same Coop action RPG Shooter mix so i say they are are as similar as it get's,
Destiny is not a Massively multiplayer online game there are hubs but those are basically just glorified lobby's there is no massively multiplayer going on you are always in small groups outside of those.
