"Fact is Quake C doesnt know what it wants to be . It makes too few changes to pull in the casual crowd."
I actually agree with that statement, but I'm more critical over the quality of the maps (which are IMHO mediocre at best) and game modes rather than against the abilities (which are suprisingly non-game breaking).
voo was quake and painkiller, he is a mercenary, goes where the money is in super high skill shooters
was amazing to see a 32 y old made it to the finals, but the fucking kid just beat him and his mental game is just amazing, the kid got a bright future, to bad he took the wrong game, this game will tank bad, or if he is smart he starts playing another soon
kind of weird voo didnt learn from his mistake against fatality, he couldnt handle the pressure, he won most of the tours but when it really counted he cracked and became second
they just riding the esports train, but they are 15 years behind, they didnt care , now they only care cause some bethesda/zenimax marketing people say its good for business, id software people have zero interest in esports. Few years back they didnt even broadcast or finish their own quake finals and cut it short for some sponsred stage shit on their quakecon stage. bunch of stuck up assholes who never bilieved in esports, and now playing catchup with a 15 y old concept nobody is gonna buy , to high skill, no gamer this day n age willl spend weeks just practicing movements on an empty map. thats what it takes. like a f1 driver, running the map over and over till u can do it in your sleep
Clawz played absolutely insanely good. And he is a complete unknown player (well, until now).
Too bad he doesn't know his manners yet (congratulate opponent on a game, don't say easy and so on...). But he will learn, it's his first big exposure and emotions probably were over the top.
Also im kinda happy to see that 30 year olds play so insanely good in such a high skill game.

Game starting to grow on me. Playing Anarki gives back that QW feel with the hopping. Played QW for years and years and this is the first thing that feels close. Will probably keep playing this on and off.
During our esports-focused interview with Tim Willits at QuakeCon last month, we discussed balancing the champions and potentially adding new ones drawn from various Bethesda IP. One character we asked about was Vault Boy, from the Fallout series, and what kind of in-game ability he might have were he to make an appearance.
Willits acknowledged that they are looking to bring in some characters that people will know from different IP, "with BJ, and now we've launched Doom Slayer with Early Access; it doesn't take that much imagination to see that we've been looking at other Bethesda titles, but we have nothing to talk about now.
"But if we did add something like Vault Dweller - I'll do Vault Dweller instead of Vault Boy - I don't know, maybe like a nuke or something?"
"You know what'd be cool is Dragonborn, with his dragon shout," Willits teased. "Or Corvo, with his blink. Or Emily. I mean, we have so many choices, we'll just have to see what comes up."
When asked what his personal pick would be, Willits said: "Dragonborn would be probably my favourite. You know, maybe we could email Todd Howard to see if we could get permission for that."
It's important to stress, much like Willits did during the interview, that this was in no way an announcement of these characters, and that Dragonborn, for instance, is just top of his personal wish list (though, to be fair, that's a good wish list to be on top of if you're going to make it in).
They do have a large number of characters for id's various games alone, not really sure where the DBorn is going to fit in as some sort of fantasy character compared oh I don't know, Makron from Q3 or the quirky cast of Q3, Matthew Kane froom Q4 or B.J's grandfather from the Catacombs games. (He himself being somewhat of the grandfather of Doomguy, full out family war there ha ha.)
Keen perhaps, though he mostly just dies as I remember.
Shub-Niggurath flopping about?
That somebody from Rage?
Doomguy has a couple of different variants if he's not already in the game in some iteration.
But sure throw in Vault Boy (Big head makes for a easy target though.) and the D-Born and let the fans settle which of the two franchises are the greatest.
EDIT: Or just throw in Uriel Septim with Patrick Stewart reprising his role.
(Though certain fans might prefer a Khajiit or Argonian instead, canon wise it seems the D-B one was a Nord tho.)
Quake Champions is entering early access on August 22nd.
You can buy the Early Access version for $30, which is 25% off the final price for the paid verison.
The game still has an f2p mode where you just get Ranger and can rent other heroes.
Doom Slayer (or as you might better know him, Doom Marine) has been added to the game.
There will be at least 6 more champions added to the game by the end of 2018 for a total of 17. They wording implies they might add more than 6 champions by then, and might add more after then, but they're probably not certain the game will actually be successful, so don't want to commit beyond that.
There's also a bunch of new content coming in on August 22nd.
You can get the game on either Bethesda.net or Steam.

Quake Champions – Early Access Starts Soon
Quake Champions is about to exit its Closed Beta phase and officially enter into Early Access on Steam and the Bethesda.net launcher. Starting on August 22, the game will receive a whole host of content, including new maps, features and a special new Champion: the mighty DOOM Slayer from the DOOM series.
“With a fast, skill-based game like Quake Champions, nothing is more important than continual testing and refining based on player feedback to ensure the game is balanced, optimized, and fun for all levels of players, from pro to new,” says Tim Willits, Studio Director, id Software. “The Early Access version of Quake Champions is, obviously, a work-in-progress, but represents a solid and robust version of the game, with four modes, 11 Champions, a variety of maps, and a thriving community of fans. Early Access will allow us to work closely with players to improve the game and add additional features before the official launch of Quake Champions in the coming months.”
The Champions Pack
Players who want to jump in and frag their way to global dominance will be able to buy the Champions Pack, which will unlock all current and future Champions as well as other exclusive in-game bonuses for $29.99, 25% off the final retail price of $39.99.
To play Quake Champions during Early Access, players can buy the Champions Pack, which includes:
All 11 current Champions, including Ranger, Visor, Scalebearer, Nyx, Anarki, Clutch, Sorlag, Galena, Slash, Wolfenstein’s BJ Blazkowicz, and the new DOOM Slayer
All future Champions, including at least six additional Champions expected to release before the end of 2018, and any that follow
An exclusive Early Access skin for Ranger, available only during the Early Access period for Champions Pack players
Three Reliquaries (loot chests containing three in-game items for profile, Champion and weapon customization, including skins, shaders, nameplates and more)
Quake Champions’ free-to-play version will launch at a later date. However, players who previously redeemed a Closed Beta key will be able to continue playing Quake Champions in free-to-play mode, only via Bethesda.net. These players will play on the same servers as Champions Pack owners and have the option of upgrading to the Champions Pack or buying additional Champions at any time. Players new to Quake Champions will need to either buy the Champions Pack or wait until free-to-play mode launches at a later date.
Put a little DOOM in Your Quake!
Quake Champions’ newest playable Champion, DOOM Slayer, comes straight from the depths of hell to the Arenas, wielding his pounding fists and an unceasing thirst for blood. Fans of DOOM can run amok using DOOM Slayer’s active ability, Berserk – smashing enemies into bloody piles of gibs with his bare hands. DOOM Slayer’s passive ability will also be familiar to DOOM fans; reach new heights with Double Jump, which allows the DOOM Slayer to jump a second time while in mid-air.
Additional Content & Features Going Live at Early Access
In addition to the new Champion, Quake Champions Early Access will also introduce a host of new content and features for players, including:
Two New Maps: Church of Azathoth and Tempest Shrine
Rune Challenges: Players will be reward for completing new Rune Challenges found in Backpacks
Lore System: Players will find Lore Items hidden throughout Arenas in vases. By collecting all 10 Lore Items for a specific Champion, they will unlock that Champion’s high-end Lore Skin.
Improved New Player Onboarding: New features to help get fresh fraggers up to speed include a movement tutorial, shooting gallery and the ability to choose a skill level
New Customization Options: New options include new Champion skin sets and weapon shaders

Bought the champions pack. Playing this every night. I played QW for ages and this feels great to play.
Not feeling dragondildo at all. Rather have Hunter from Q3 for obvious reasons. Think they should limit the bethesda crap since it won't appeal to the Quake crowd.
Doesn't seem like it's been entirely processed yet, the embed in here gives the 720p60/1080p60 options, but when I watch it on YT itself it only offers 360p and 720p - which it looks like at the moment !
