Renegades - can't quite give a raiting now but it was good.
Not one of those typical blockbusters with 5 mr.Bay stars but still enough action to make it enjoyable. Also, the MMurica fukk yaa! was still there. For some reason they laughed a LOT over the Brits in this movie.
It had it's convenient plotholes and clichés but still, nice flick to kill some time with easy entertainment.

Crouching indifference, hidden waste of time: the sword of density.
Some nice fights, and a decent if overly simple narrative, but the dialog and characters were all too lazy for this film to be anything but a very forgettable experience.

Batman return of the caped crusaders.
Jesus christ... jesus... fucking... christ
That was one of the most insanely hilariously batshit crazy things I've seen in a long time. It's good to know that WB can actually still make a fucking fantastic animated batman movie... holy shit

It won't be for everyone (or maybe for almost anyone??!) but it really was a gloriously campy triumph... And Adam west apparently recorded all his lines before dying for a sequel... With William Shatner! It's going to be faaaaabulous.

Hitmans Bodyguard 9/10
I don't see the hate in this, a movie that actually made me laugh more than once. Really enjoyed it and the humor was fantastic.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 4/10
Not so fun at all, first one was "ok" but this just felt forced and stupid alltogether.

Hitman's Bodyguard. Everything about it is as generic and cringe worthy as it possibly gets. The evil russians, the tired car chases, the two people who can't stand each other but has to work together.. The conversations are tired jokes based around saying "asshole". Its literally about two grown ups conversing like 15 year olds, and it's a LOT of it.. There are several 5+ minute conversations and in its entirety it comes down to "fuck you". I do enjoy immaturity and i can enjoy the nonsensical "bitching" as long as not 50% of the movie consists of it, and only if its smart/funny (deadpool for example was great). 4/10

sure, the writing is ways better/smarter, highly entertaining movie if you're into over-the-top action with lots of witty and very immature humor.
I personally love immaturity, but like everything that's an art too, South Park does this particularly well often. This movie is like its done by someone who believes these long, very tired and extremely predictable conversations are funny and "smart" / witty when they're nothing but.. there's more to it than repeating "asshole" 5353453 times, it's not funny, not witty, not smart.

it had one or two chuckles sure, and maybe 2 decent action scenes, bu there was nothing overly clever or funny in deadpool... unless you think fart and penis jokes are the pinnacle of hilarity... the opening credits claim the writers were the real heroes, but i think it was the marketing team that were the real talent in the film. without them, you have another generic superhero flick except with r18 penis jokes

found it nothing like other super hero movies really, very different tone overall. It had tons of great characters and interactions. I even enjoyed the car chases and that never happens for me..
Character chemistry was absolutely top notch too, and it's probably the most important thing for comedy.. Even the tiny romance in deadpool was done pretty well. the bad guy/s were even quite good, which is extremely rare for super hero movies.
This movie had none of it, the romances are particularly bad and a complete time waster. are you saying this is a better movie than deadpool? to me it seems you just don't enjoy the genre, which is fine, but then its also not a genre you should review if you don't "get" it.

Hitman's Bodyguard should've been directed by Shane Black.

No, what I saying is that deadpool, as a movie, didn't impress me. Doesn't mean I didn't get it, I just don't enjoy juvenile humor, and I didn't think it's writing was anything of note.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017)
5/10
Boring and not funny..this franchise outstayed its welcome.
Couldn't they come up with something else instead of another bunch of dead morons who want to kill jack
1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB
2) SFFPC (streaming via Moonlight+ Sunshine)

Deadpool is juvenile, that's his thing. The movie is clearly juvenile as well, it's the idea. You watched something which is clearly not of your preference, and you didn't like it. What a shocker..
DMT The spirit molecule 10/10.. Documentary about DMT. Great stuff. Loved hearing about the experiences, i never get tired of hearing or reading trip reports though you could tell it had a profound effect on these people.

Til because deadpool character is juvenile the movie needs to be Juvenile. Lol
Character needs to be juvenile doing juvenile things. Not the movie. The title credits alone were idiotic and stupid and almost always skipped upon repeated viewings.

if it was good enough for repeated viewings then it probably was ok'ish at least?
I loved it the first time, good company, good mood.. the second time i will admit it was kind of "meh" sometimes bordering to annoying. It's one of those movies which are "..a bit much" and i just dont think it works to see it a second time, first time was fun due to some shock value (some very funny deaths for example). I do agree that it's probably a bit too much comedy, and "too much" overall, at least for a second viewing.
Hitman's Bodyguard didn't even work for 1 viewing, for me. The characters were "..too much" and too constantly in-your-face, but without being the least shocking, or fun, or creative. If deadpool was constantly just swearing and saying "penis" it would have been shit, but its actually often quite creative and fun and the violence is over-the-top in a way i loved (for 1 viewing).

long way north
an animated film not using the latest fangled cartoony techniques... actually reminded me of the sort of art style you get in an indie game.. and honestly, i really liked it. id take it ANY day over the kind of cheap shitty 'modern, accepted' animation WB and marvel uses for their stv superhero animated flicks... and actually because it was such a delightful change, in some ways i like it more than the modern cgi films too.
anyway, it was a nice story.. gave me some of them heart-warming and honest smiles like what you used to get from old disney movies - it was the perfect length, and was an interesting and enjoyable story.
i feel like the ending was a little forced (relying a little too much on magical luck), but in an animated story i can handle 15 seconds of eye-roll 'dats so bullshit' plot device
so yeah. a nice film that i feel handled its tropes well enough that the film never (for me) fell too heavily into the usual syrupy american style cartoon storytelling pitfalls that make a lot of animated films unpleasant at times to watch.

IT - 9.5/10 memorable characters, very good acting and dialogue etc. Felt a bit like stranger things which i love. Maybe just a tad bit jump scarey.

i think if you pay money for something, youre more likely to grit your teeth, make your way through it and then lie to yourself about how much you enjoyed it.
you know, like those people who bought mass effect 4

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales - 3/10
For a moment there I thought it might not be so bad, but then it quickly went to shit and then got even worse. The movie feels as if someone wrote half a script and then told the director to improvise the rest. So much random, stupid shit and forced humour. Depp really needs to move on or retire. The Black Pearl won't sail any further.
The Limehouse Golem - 5/10
A very predictable, but decently atmospheric and competently acted victorian thriller. There are, however, some seriously blunt and pretentious feminist / LGBT "undertones" (quote marks, because they are hardly under anything, really) here, so you've been warned.

The Hero - 7/10
I love Sam Elliott to pieces, and this movie is a great hommage to his acting career and persona. It's not biographic, but you can feel the waving goodbye sort of thing through all its footage. Some manly tears were shed.

This was a nearly perfect action comedy for me. Just awesome.
Karen Gillan as Nebula looked so sexy - probably because of her beautiful face.
