Ok, I have my main machine currently running Windows XP and downstairs I have a Linux machine running debian. The ideal situation would be moving my linux box up to this room and using X, but I already have one PC here, and I don't want to clutter mine and talula's already tiny room!
So what Im looking for is a way of incorporating certain linux features onto my windows desktop.. I use PUTTY for SSH, but would love an application that would be a little more "one click and Im connected" something I can set to run on startup and will connect to a number of servers and use less desktop space than putty does.. Below shows a good example of what I would like, unfortunatly the program that does this (edits putty) requires to be setup AFTER a putty session is startted, which kind of defeats the point ..
Any other applications which can improve the incorporation of these two OS's would be great! Its a damn shame no one has written any widgets for this sort of thing.. bloody GUI designers and they're lack of care for sys admins ..
So yeah, looking for anything to make a sys admins life easier when maintaining linux servers from a windows environment!
hmm, don't really know if this will fit your needs, but i'm using SecureCRT instead of Putty. It has tabbed sessions, so only one window for multiple connections and you can define shortcuts to open a session with just one keystroke.
btw, you could use an autoit script to automatically start putty and let it connect to all your servers and then run that other tool, that shouldn't be too hard to script and would automate the whole process .
