I have to say im quite impressed (compared to PES) this year. AI plays more midfield, even returns some passes to defense! Ive seem couple of fouls too, AI takes shots ..

actually im very impressed
few pros
- side line refs not instantly putting up the flag
- quick sub feature, very neat
- it looks outstandig, the lightning is much improved (so i sacrifice much of the gfx glory for better overview, means setting cam to coop and zoom out as much as possible)
- defending is way harder now, me likey. and so far no annoying autotackle
- the ai doesnt seem to be that stupid anymore
- it has a kind of pes feeling (in a good way), too bad ea most likely patches the gameplay with the first patch and destroys it
but somehow cutscenes and menus are 30fps, tried the usual things that worked the last years (unlock framerate and set adaptive vsync in the nvidia driver. but that doenst do anything, if i unlock the framerate and set adaptive vsync it runs with 250+ fps. so most likely a driver issue atm)

Is this what they usually do?

sadly yes, either the initial final release differs a lot from the demo or the first patch for it makes it different. we can just hope they dont do it again

mh the vsync stuff is (as expected) dx12 related, when setting back to dx11 it works fine. any way to make the drivers setting work with dx12 in non exclusive fullscreen?

If they leave the gameplay like this, it's great. Some people say there are no graphical changes, I can only shake my head hearing this. Players feel heavy, replays have trainers now that show arrows and passes like on TV and crosses are finally deadly again.
Overall it feels a tad more realistic, will need to see how this translates to FUT, I liked 17 a lot but it was very unrealistic most of the time.

This might be the first fifa i buy but i wait a bit to see what they do with gameplay.I hope there will be an isodemo soon after release but i have no idea how long that usually takes.

I played a few matches whilst struggling with the fact that I'm beyond rusty, it still carries all the flaws of the current frosty engine such as players skiing faster than Hirscher, unnatural alien-like changes of directions/movements, the impression that invisible magnets inside the players' boots affect the ball's physics more than gravity and other arcadey itsinthegame™ trickeries. On the bright side, the AI seems indeed more adequate this time around (they really like keeping the ball among the other things ), defending requires precision and timing which is good, overall the pace feels a bit more natural.
The presentation is solid as per usual, with crisper visuals albeit the lighting sometimes can be off (either too dark or too bright), but nothing too annoying. In general though, there isn't much that really changes the way the game plays, it still is fundamentally the same ol' spongy Fifa of late designed for quick mindless play. But then again, revolutions sadly aren't part of this genre, there's no desire to dare and try to apply another additional layer of depth (or at least something a tad more realistic). *sad panda*

On this I have to agree, 11 months ago was a different landscape. Still we'll have to wait and see but to say last year it was like that isn't a good indication for this year.
Haven't played the demo yet, thought I had Origin installed but nope... and I'm too lazy to do that just for a demo.

thats what he does, but the stamina is fixed in the demo. the game will run in longer half times but the stamina fades the same way it does with the original time -> unplayable after a time

Uhm yeah, I know...
That's the same as in FIFA 17's demo, obviously you don't put it to 10 minutes, 6 is completely fine.

But does it have English language? The past years it worked fine, but they also left Russian at a very good price, yet it has no English language. Might be a trick.
And it's roughly the same price as the keyshops, they also have it for 39, the only positive aspect is that it's directly from Origin. Only makes sense for anything other than the Standard Edition.
