Are you mad? The voice acting and the music are one of the best things about the game, it's so nice not to have the annoying generic American teen female and male voice. I guess these will come along later and I will mute the voices, but so far it's great.

Does anyone have any problems with anti-aliasing? For some reason I can only use FXAA and SMAA 1x and to be honest, both look a bit shitty. Otherwise the game looks and works fine, seems to be well-optimized too (so far locked 60 on my rig) but the jaggies get on my nerves.

Isn't that all the game offers? There's no fancy temporal AA support (Unfortunately.) and MSAA is also unsupported. (DX11 probably hampers performance a b it and with all the shaders the game is using now it probably would only be marginally effective.)

Downsampling works if you have the GPU for it but that's a bit of a brute force method, great results though. Very Happy

Same. I used VSR/DSR to run the game at 1440p instead since it was lacking stronger AA options.

Are you joking. The VA is horrible. Everything has to have this lonely cat lady quirkiness to it. Maybe it appeals to a lot of people but I could do with a more serious tone sometimes.

The Divinity series has had it's quirky moments since it began from what I remember though they also had surprisingly dark and more serious moments in-between, later games upped the humor further but still retain some of the more serious shifts depending on how the story turns.

EDIT: For the voice acting specifically though I believe Larian said they used multiple studios to get most of the dialogue VO'd which might explain the varied speech, budget for this amount of text probably also played some role in what they could do though it should be better than the previous games.

Can't wait to get out of Fort Joy and the "Starter Island". Having played through it several times already in EA, it kind of bores the shit out of me now lol.

There were several huge pictures, that each weighted 150kg. So i had to constantly drag and drop them around to some trader via Telekenesis:

All this for just 380 gold. Laughing Crying or Very sad

I just now completed everything i could in Fort Joy. Now i travel east to the swamp i think.
That's still part of the starter island i guess? If so, how many percent of it have i completed yet?

So how is singleplayer? Does it feel like the game was designed for co-op play?

This is the reason I didn't even touch the EA, the ship part is so frickin bad I feared I couldn't play it again.
I would have starter over already but I just cba playing that ship part over again..

Is there any way (in the starter area) to resurrect party members when you run out of resurrection scrolls?
I won the fight in the cave against the frogs but lost two members.
I do not really want to re-play this fight, since iit was already the fourth try...

thx

I can't remember if the first game was like that as well (played on a potato back then so everything was on low anyway)
but shadow quality on high looks so much worse then low to me there is this weird grid like pattern everywhere:

is this really intended?

The ground status effects are fucking me over so much (just like in the first game if I recall correctly). Is there any way ahead of time to tell how big a puddle something is going to make (whether that's water, oil, or poison)? So many times now I've thought that one of my characters would be out of range of a puddle, just for them to get set ablaze/shocked/or frozen anyway.

More to the point, what's the point of any sort of offensive spell-casters? They're pretty much guaranteed to fuck over the one person keeping them alive (the tank) if they plan on using their offensive capabilities the way they were meant to be used (chaining oil+fire, water+electricity) etc. Hell, even most of the direct damage spells on their own will either arc through the tank, or cause him harm in some form or another.

Seriously thinking of just re-rolling and going all melee. They bill the spell combat as tactical, but thus far it's more an annoyance than anything else.

Yeah, that's what I thought Smile Seemed a bit weird even MSAA isn't supported, so I wasn't sure if it wasn't a local problem. No biggie though, DSR works just fine.

Game itself seems really complex and robust at first glance. So many options and possibilities. I like how flexible it is - the fact that it allows you to create your own character, or chose one of pre-made ones. I decided on Fane and I'm liking it so far.

+1 I always prefer to play as a mage character but here I'm seriously thinking about restarting as an undead assassin Laughing

I reckon it got worse than in DS1.

Sorry, but you might consider playing on a lower difficulty than, as there is no friendly fire IIRC. Smile

I don't know what you are expecting when mages cast AOE spells. And it's not like only your characters can do that, enemies too. And they AOE bomb me even more than i can.

Also all of the damaging puddles can be removed. For example poison and fire with (Blood) Rain.

As my "tank" is an undead, i cast poison puddles on purpose on him, so he gets healed. Very Happy

Somewhat, I believe you can stealth kill without triggering full hostility of every nearby living organism but be aware that NPC's tend to be linked or grouped however so if you piss off someone (This includes killing them.) his or her friends (Even if they're in far away Fuckovertheresomewhere.) might not be too happy about you when you run into them.

Similarly the crime scene trigger from picking up important items of value (Helpfully marked with a red hand icon. Smile ) can cause guards from Fuckovertheresomewhere to come running and start a investigation even if you're really, really thorough ensuring no nearby NPC's are in the vicinity or there's no clear line of sight or other blockers and the player character doing the deed is in full stealth. (Skillpoint investment apparently reduces the affected crime scene area and such a bit though.)
