Yeah the engine only works at 60 FPS for some reason it seems, guessing a multiple at 120 FPS could work too if constant.

You can cap it from the in-game options at least but it's unfortunate it wasn't actually improved.

EDIT: Well it works at any framerate but 60 FPS is the only one where it's actually the most smooth with minimal stutter whereas anything else seems to be problematic.
(EDIT: Frame pacing inconsistencies.)

wow, yes! limiting the game to 60 FPS (via the in-game menu) totally fixed it, it's smooth now. I never tried it before, thanks! If I only knew that when playing the original DH2...

Do you have to play this in stealth or isn't really necessary. Just like dishonored 2 When you also can kill everyone.

The interesting thing was in D2, at least for me, that limiting the fps to 60 with RivaTuner Statistics Server actually produced better smoothness, frame pacing results with less input lag. Yes the in-game limiter also worked but I felt noticably better results with RTSS.

If you limited the fps in rivatuner. At what limit did you put the ingame settings?

Depends on the difficulty level really, getting a few guards swarming on you tends to be fatal regardless but with the use of various void powers and other items nothing prevents you from going lethal.

Some side missions outright require killing too now and there's no low/high chaos anymore from how I understood it.
(Achievement wise I believe there's no longer any achievement for finishing the game without killing anyone, only for finishing a mission without killing anyone though there's still ghost for avoiding detection for the entirety of the game.)

I disabled the in-game limiter by enabling in-game V-Sync (mind you this is what always bothered me with how D2 handles this - you can't enable V-Sync AND fps limiter at the same time, but in my experience, in most games enabling v-sync and at the same time limiting the fps to you monitor's refresh rate will produce the best possible smoothness, and it also helps with mouse lag but this really depends on how the game handles v-sync and fps limit).
Now, if you don't mind a bit of screen tearing, you can then go to your VGA control panel (I have Nvidia so I use Nvidia Inspector) and set V-Sync to Force Off. This way, the game won't use any V-sync so you'll essentially get rid of any input lag, and because of the game thinks that the in-game v-sync is still enabled (nvidia settings overwrites this), the in-game fps limiter will be still disabled, so you can use an external FPS limiter that won't mess with the in-game limiter. Of course the downside of this is you have to cope with some screen tear, but the game will be silky smooth, at least it is for me.

Finished it today in about 12 hours on hard with a stealth approach, taking my time to explore the surroundings. Really enjoyed it and it's a nice addition to Dishonored 2, but surprising they made it stand-alone. Probably in an attempt to justify the excessive €30 price tag.

It was pretty fun, five missions which while generally the levels are a bit smaller they're packed with content and all sorts of extras are hidden away ranging from your usual items in these games to alternate paths so around 1 to 2 hours per level or more if you're thorough.

Some hub maps as you start a new mission and also some sub maps such as entering certain buildings loading a new area.

Most objectives can be completely non-lethally and stealth is a option though the later maps tend to have more enemies around and some of the side bounties that Billy can do tend to force you to play lethally if you intend to collect on them.

(While not a direct spoiler for the ending this is possibly considered a spoiler so.)
 Spoiler:

Runs better as well but they did drop some of the tech so not all settings from Dishonored 2 carries over (And some are locked down a bit though still there.) in addition to the smaller environments and the game still craves that 60 FPS smoothness to avoid stutters.

Billy has some interesting powers of her own too allowing for players to get very creative and there's a game mode that offers some extras too after completing the game once.

Still would have been fun to have Daud as a playable character, but Billy works too and the game even attempts to somewhat explain the different possible outcomes of the original game and it's sequel though they do still follow a canonical outcome of Emily and generally a more positive outcome though it doesn't go int too much detail on how exactly things went down.
(Perhaps some hints for a eventual Dishonored 3 too down the line a few years from now, hard to say.)

It could have been another two parter DLC like the Brigmoor bi..err witches though but Bethesda or well I guess all publishers kinda both want and need money, at least it wasn't full priced.

Upwards of 10 hours or so for average play time I'm thinking, faster players can run through it more quickly of course or you can walk around and screenshot every little area and detail while listen in on some of the really weird dialogue the NPC have, no-one does that though, "whistle" ha ha!

Well listening in on the NPC is pretty fun, all the weird things that go on and some really nice singing for once, oh there one was a sailor with a really small cockle err wait that wasn't the right song I think heh.
(That is an actual song or well rhyme I guess and you can overhear it and a few others throughout the game and there's even a person who actually can sing, or could.)

(Violated the lore of the game since no-one in the Dishonored series could sing before so he had to go.)

EDIT: Drunken whaler was good tho come to think of it, set the mood nicely too heh. Very Happy

I got that same error at the end of the install - perhaps it's caused by unchecking all the optional crap that anyone not on a freshly formatted PC already has installed (the redistributables).

The Steampunks installer also didn't seem to make a short-cut or un-install entry in Add/Remove programs. Sloppy.

Anyway, game seems to run fine.

INSTALLATION FIX : our new installer at the end sometimes throws
a runtime error. We have to investigate that. But the game does
install fine. Just copy the the content of STEAMPUNKS on the ISO
to your installed game folder. If you want to avoid that error,
copy the files to your hdd and install from there. All options
should work. You can also unpack the language files manually.(7zip)
Sorry about that, we will correct that problem on the next release.
It is pointless to repack the whole thing and download it again.

Tried it a bit. Hate the main character but decided to play Dishonored 2 first since I love the gameplay.

Dishonored 2 not running bad at all the stp version on ultra. Just weird ass microstutters even with 60 fps.

Legit or yarred?
If it's the yarred then the update that they did after the cracled version was available suspiciously fixed pretty much of the stuttering the game had, according to most (happened for me).

So you might give it a shot, either by family sharing or buy on steam+refund.

Yarr ofc. It's playable. Game is not expensive just don't like to pay for it because of the way they did things with the patches and bad release. Ill finish it quick and go on with this one.

There's two, I've only seen the second one myself so far though but I guess they are still fairly similar.

Endings.
