They said it will be Soma Prime. Pretty much one of the most powerful rifles in the game if moded right. That baby chews through L100 enemies by the hundreds.
The only reason to stop using it is that you don't go up in MR if you don't level other weapons.
When i still played regulary several months ago, i rolled with Sancti Prime and Kulstar on my Excalibur.
If the Sancti didn't get nerfed, it should still destroy enemies in close range.

Is the Tigris Prime new? I don't think i heard of it back then.
Seems the prime version was added 2 updates after the Sancti.
If you can get the Prime up to 100% status chance, you have pretty much the best gun in the game (Sancti being a close second). I'm working on it right now, and re-leveling weapons after Forma-ing them is a bit of a...grind...

Is the P one that much better though?
I would hate having to farm for the parts again.

Situational i personally like the Sancti cause of the proc but it doesn't hurt to have both just trade for it if you don't want to farm the parts the set is really cheap.
Use https://warframe.market/ if you want to buy stuff or sell things you don't need it's really easy to make plat for everything you want this way.
I for one have the 2 Tigris versions built a bit differently so I still use both depending on what I feel like using really. That's kind of the jist with me in Warframe, I don't care much about what most think about weapon or frame viability. I have experience with a lot of gear since I tend to switch a lot and I can say that as long as you mod properly, you'll be fine with pretty much anything. Just don't suck at actually using said gear.
Also, Soma is lame. The whole Arca weapon set is super fun on the other hand. They've been doing great with weapon design lately.
Nah, Soma is not lame, just overused, since it's way too powerful compared to how easy it is to get.
I'm still Using it since that's the best gun in my arsenal, but right now I'm farming Lua Spy for the shotgun status mods (got 2 of them so far, missing Heat and Cold), and Formaing the Tigris while doing it. With these drop-rates, I'll have the weapon all done and ready by the time get the rest, all from just doing these missions...

Not THAT much better. Little better status chance and a little worse crit chance, and a little better damage.

Scattering Inferno and Frigid Blast? I have spares if you want.
As for what I said... I find automatic rifles really dull in general, in anything, and the Soma is the most vanilla AR in this, it has no kick, requires nothing of the player and feels like an actual pea shooter to me. I like a lot of the other ones in WF to some extent, but I don't use any extensively. Would have stuck with the Zenith more but I really hate what they did with its sonar. I'd rather take one of my snipers out (even pre Plains) and outperform people with those.

Yeah, those two, thanks a lot. I just spent another 4-5 runs, and all I got was endo and shitty silver mods. :/ They go for 15 and 10 plats on WFMarket respectively right now. Is that ok with you?
It's certainly not finished. As soon as Baro arrives with PPB, that's on top of the list. Not sure about the spread mod yet, I kinda like that I can mow down several rows of enemies with the 2 punchthrough mod, instead of just a couple. The extra damage looks nice, but the Tigris is already a beast when it comes to one-shoting enemies.
Though now in hindsight i'm not sure, that when the open-world update finally arrives, if a medium-long range weapon won't be better suited.
In the standard game there were often smaller rooms, where it was easier to fight close-range against enemies. But the open-world is more of a vast landscape.
And also how my ST is slotted:
Oh and i kept rolling with Ash P, not Excalibur. Must have mistaken it.
<3 the mobility, looks and the ultimate from Ash:

My Sancti Tigris is modded similarly but I replaced Chilling Grasp with Chilling Reload since 1.1 reload speed. I also don't use punch-through on it, unlike the Prime version and have Vicious Spread instead of Seeking Force. Oh, and while I'm that person that mods anything with corrosive pretty much, regardless of faction (because screw switching builds all the time), since the Tigris has such massive damage I use radiation - viral on all versions because it can just power through the ferrite armour that mostly lighter units posess. Radiation is good against the heavy units' alloy armour and viral is just fantastic for its proc combined with like 20k slash damage.

You guys perefer this over destiny 2? If so why? I've heard it's quite familiar!
HELL YES.
I played both Destiny 1 and 2. 2 I only played on console. I hate both of those games. i only bought the second one because a friend of mine loves it and i keep trying to like it.
I love warframe because of the movement you are allowed with your warframes.
And, the missions are more interesting to me.
Plus, the weapons are sooooo much better.
I also enjoy the "look" of warframe 10 fold over Destiny.

No idea, what's D2's loot system like? Is it like Diablo/Borderlands/etc, where you loot weapons with random stats and hope for the best?
If so, then it's comparing apples and oranges in the looter genre.
Here all weapon/warframe/companion are hand crafted with their own quirks and default stats that are set in stone (don't worry, DE keeps adding new stuff quite regularly, and at this point there's so much unique things in the game that it will take ages to get everything). The magic happens when you start modding the equipment, and can make a previously unremarkable rifle into something that you enjoy immensely.
Even the mods are not randomized (except for so called 'Riven' mods, but the community is a bit split on them right now, so they might get a rework sometime in the future), but they can be leveled. A 'Redirection' mod will always only boost shield capacity on your warframe, and you can level it up to give a bigger boost. According to the wiki, there are 803 unique mods in the game right now.
In Warframe you grind to get the weapon you want, grind to get the mods you want, and grind to level all of them up.
The only RNG in the game is about getting the parts for the equipment, there is no RNG in deciding if the stats on that equipment is good or bad. A Nikana Prime sword is universally the same for everyone. How you mod it, that's up to your taste, and that's what sets the game apart.
EDIT: oh yeah, and the movement system. I've seen vids of Destiny.
Jetpacks?
Warfame?
(just pick a random time-spot in the video, tho it looks like it's before the graphics update, now it looks a million times better)
And the best thing is that despite how complicated it looks from the video, it's incredibly intuitive, and you'll be jumping around the Grineer like a coked up Speedy Gonzales in no time.
Oh, and if you decide to give WF a go, might wanna watch this vid first. Sage advice in there.
tldr: don't let veterans drag you into high-level missions, or let them go ape-shit in your low level missions with their insane builds. Talk to them for pointers, but try to experience and explore the game at your own pace.
And tho it came late for me, SkillUp's review might get you in the mood as well.

i agree with this. i just recently got into a clan and they wanted to power level me. i actually went and did it for 1 mission. They told me "just stay alive". So the whole time i was rolling and sliding all over the place. After it was done, i told them i thought i would be better off if they just told me pointers because the power leveling really wasn't fun for me. I like to be in the action.

+1 to what the above boys wrote about WF being the better game.
Or TL;DR:
Destiny is only is better in the graphics department, and there not by a big amount either.
At every other aspect WF shits all over it, especially the gameplay one.

I have no idea what Destiny is like, but I've been playing Warframe since 2013 (actually had access since the closed beta opened but there wasn't much to do THAT early) because back then there was nothing like it (still think there isn't) and I just got extremely hooked and stuck with it.
The artstyle and lore in this game make for something really cool and unique. Gameplay carries on with that giving you insane power once you master it. I'm pretty good at navigating tiles at this point to the point that I get ahead of anyone if I really want to, regardless of warframe, but when you throw one with a movement ability in the mix traveling through the tiles becomes something really special.
What zmed said about the gear is definetely another thing that sets Warframe apart. Because pretty much every piece of gear is unique / hand-crafted, you get attached to your warframe and your weapons and the more of them you use the more you want to push the ones you really love to the limit. And that never gets old because the combat is also super satisfying. It's a game that empowers the player, much like a Dynasty Warriors game, only the work and passion that goes into this make for a much more superior and more unique game.
Community's always been fantastic, but like in any barrel there's bad apples so at times it may not seem so, but trust me, there's a ton of awesome and helpful people in it
Oh, and what people call fashionframe is a legitimate thing. For me, I just like character design, so I push myself to make my warframes as cool as I possibly can. My loadouts tend to be themed, don't really play any warframe with any weapons and I steer clear from clown-looking designs and go for more "serious" ones that fit the game. Others like to cosplay characters from other games and such, more than anything.
