Tried it and uninstalled, can't take this game serious. How is that GT2RS understeering so much? Sliding one side and if you counter-steer, car snaps and spins.
Got to play with my G27 profiler to set something like 720° otherwise it was really weird.
But as we can't assign profile to Forza7.exe - thanks to MS Store encryption - And as FFB just don't feel right I just gave up.
The game is much more playable with a gamepad anyway.

Uninstalled this piece of shit demo.
Game is simply bad, on every front except graphics which is okay, nothing special, but okay.
M$ store is terrible and annoying to use, menu is constantly loading some shit, sound is amateurish and driving is... bad. Cars understeer too much and it creates a false illusion of a simulation game. Cockpits are not detailed enough and not made entirely and it bothers me so much.
All in all, a bad game, very bad.

same as microsoft rewards, you need to do stuff to earn points and you can exchange them against stuff which normally costs money (i.e. groove music subscription for example). it differs from country to country though
anyone here bought the overpriced ultimate blabla early unlock edition and can say something about the performance? demo is 3 months old stuff from the e3, and i expect that they improved many things till now

So there is supposed to be more on that site than this?
Probably from Russian store for 1999RUB. You buy 2000RUB code for 1726RUB on nilt.ru. Add to your account after changing region and address to Russian and voila
Summary for now. May update later if I can track down the PC issue.
For Console, this is a buy absolutely excellent content.
For PC it is a bit of a hit and miss with the micro-stutter/FPS issue like at around the 1:23 mark.
So far no one can figure out why some PC's have it and others don't and why it is not all the time.
I would say go into it with your eyes open if you're getting it on PC
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Great review. Only time I see micro-stutter is right before the race, I'm assuming it's due to the fact that shit is still loading in the background while you can do customization to the race. But, once the race starts, never seen it drop below 60fps, no stuttering. Game is rendering on ultra with 4k resolution even though my monitor is 1080p @ 60hz hehe. According to MSI after burner, it shows gpu utilization at around 60%. However, I'm not liking the fact that one core is running at 100% all the time while my 15 other logical cores running at 10-20% utilization hehe. With the Xbox and shit having multiple cores and such, why couldn't they optimize this on PC?
In any event, game runs great, graphics are outstanding.
My specs:
Ryzen 1700x @ 4ghz, ASRock x370 Taichi motherboard, 32gb pc3200 ram, EVGA 1080Ti SC2, SoundBlaster Z, Samsung Evo m.2 500gb SSD, Samsung 950 Pro 500gb SATA SSD.
So can someone explain me why this game is more expensive on my CPU than Project CARS 2 ?
BTW it seems there even isn't spray on windshield once rain is over and you follow other cars...
Big time immersion killer here.
This game is just like a fake piece of jewelry, it's nice looking and all but if you scratch the surface a bit all you got is rusty piece of junk.
The guys from Turn10 said they put a lot of stress on one core to make it more responsive, which of course is bullshit
The game generally isn't all that taxing and uses multithreading as you'd expect from a game like this, a few cores here and there, i mean it's a racing game with some physics and a meh AI, nothing too crazy
It's that UWP file decryption system Microsoft employs which heavily taxes the CPU, especially the first core, because the constant stream of data coming in that has to be decrypted
It's also why people experience stutters in this game (and FH3) more than any other games
those racing games are laden with assets and data streams (especially in one that is stark full of 4k textures and is generally 100gb in size) and if on top of that all that data is encrypted then the CPU has to do a lot of work, but not just the CPU
memory usage also goes up by a good bit and memory speeds suddenly become pretty crucial
not to mention how important it is you install this game to a fast drive
those games also generally use a good bit of vram
so it's not surprising people have so many issues getting this (and again FH3) to run well, so many factors coming in that all have to accounted for
if any of your specs don't match what is needed, and even then sometimes, you're gonna have a bad time
though at least some remedy can be found in just turning the settings all the way down, to some degree, though most people aren't willing to do that and have a certain entitlement in being able to set graphic settings to "at least high or ultra", that's not gonna fly here
can't really blame them, it's really on Microsoft for forcing this whole UWP and Windows store malarkey on us
oh noes, imagine people'd mess with their games files! better make them suffer through constant file decryption
But what he just wrote makes a lot of sense, I also think their whole Microsoft Store system wasn't built for actual video games in the first place but for mobile apps.
They tweaked it for make it "works" for games and here is the result...

I downloaded the ultimate version with 0 problems one shot and even installed on a raid other then the OS drive.
I just loaded into the menus and all, didn't race yet.
I also unticked my cpu core 0 in the affinity options as it seems to suffer the same as the demo, laggy menus and what not but with the affinity trick all is well!!
Can't wait to see the unlocked fps performance!
