It's a nice game.
If you liked the first one, you'll like this too.
Playing on the hardest difficulty. Dying a lot (you can survive the regular monsters blindfolded by just spamming both mouse buttons but the captains etc, have a lot of counter.
Ie. you have to dodge some attacks with dodge roll -> some bosses counter you if you roll towards them (ie. you try to leap behind them).
And some bosses counter you if you try to hit them from front (grab you by neck and headbutt you) and they're quite often immune to arrows + if you do same thing over and over to them, they can gain the counter for it.
Ie. fighting a big shield captain - cannot attack from front -> you leap behind them all the time to get few hits in back -> with bad luck they learn to counter the leap and then you're fighting a nasty boss (afaik, they have limited amount of counters they can learn, otherwise you could create some very nasty monsters )
I don't know how much of this was in the shadow of Mordor as I did not play that past... tutorial or something.
I don't know if the lootboxes are needed, I have epic gear in all slots right now and doing just fine, I even have some legendaries (you can get them without boxes O_O) and they're worse than my epics.

This happened to me yesterday, i was laughing my ass off in panic the whole fight, cause the dude was immune to stealth, became immune to jumping over & had enraged by mortal wounds. I managed to kill him using arrows, amazingly he didn't become immune to them. |
I fought a 'savage' (attacking from front causes the headbutt counter) who was immune to jumps and immune to arrows
I literally had to just stand and wait. Most of the time it did heavy attacks which I had to dodge out of the way, but sometimes he attacked with regular attacks, which I could parry, and with the 'perfect parry' I could get him go down to get few hits in.
Luckily, around at ~60-70% he decided to run away and I then just ran after him hitting him from behind all the time.
The fleeing mechanism is stupid -> it makes tough captains total wimps, as they cannot run as fast as me -> once I catch them, I will get them into a stunlock.

Whatever happened to all that uppity Steampunks prattle - "The rest of Denuvo we will keep it secret for now". Looks like they don't have as much a handle on reverse engineering it as they thought.
The majority of a AAA game's sales/profits flow in during the first two weeks - so if it takes em that long to bypass it, then, technically, and even though we all hate to admit it, it's a +1 for the DRM.
Ah well, in no hurry to play this copy/paste anyway.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.
