Game runs like shit for me. 3570K @4.7GHZ on water, GTX 1070. GPU usage never goes over 80% most of the time its under 70%, CPU usage is between 60 - 80% and still the game drops to 50 FPS. Thats even with my GTX 1070 running at 2100mhz core , 9000mhz memory. Doesnt seem to matter if I drop settings much either, still total poo
Tried using the latest Geforce drivers?
Not that it's sure to fix performance. But once in a while having up-to-date drivers for a Nvidia card helps.

Don't think Ill play it much more. Playing on nemesis or w/e. Guns do nothing. Have to stealth kill and stab everything so far. I love stealth but this is just not fun at all.

I settled on doing just that. Because if i don,t lock at 30fps the framerate is all over the place. Microstuttering , going from 60 to 45 etc and it feel like shit. And that's even with medium settings.
So i said fuck it i decided to lock it at 30 fps with everything set at Ultra. It's 30fps but at least it's a stable 30 fps and i can crank everything to the max. I prefer that to higher but unstable FPS.
As for the game itself i am loving it so far. It is what TEW 1 should have been. More atmospheric and survival horror oriented than the first. Granted i'm not that far in but so far so good. Nice game

try changing RTSS to a different rendering mode. Like Shadow of Mordor needed to be in vector 2D for it to work for me

Gsync doesn't work indeed in fullscreen mode. But changing the Gsync settings in Nvidia control panel to both fullscreen and window and it'll work. The game's fullscreen mode is bugged.

They really improved over the original, especially in the tech side
My radeon 280 works well, i get 40-60 fps, no stutters, all high with shadows on medium and DOF disabled. This card refuses to die (i have a i7 3770 btw)

I don't have any stutter so far on my rx480 and 3570k. You guys on amd having problems messed with the chill thing? It made my mouse movement really wonky on this title and when I turned it off (f11) it was fine.
Only way I found this out was this weird beep sound when I started running games lately... Thought I had some weird malware but it's just chill being activated.
After six hours or so, I'm not sure what to make of the game yet, it feels very different from the first one but I'm enjoying the ride all things considered. It's a strange beast, a hybrid that alternates linear signature Evil Within-like moments and pseudo-open world scavenging resembling a zombie apocalypse, with more focus on stealth, exploration and crafting.
I've been spending most of my time exploring every corner of the town and looting like a mad Sebastian, a satisfying (not quite horror) pastime, though on the highest level of difficulty there's actually tension involved and one needs to avoid direct conflict since with the initial limited stamina the hordes of mutants can be lethal. Here's hoping the future chapters will be more story-centric while embracing the bizarre (imaginative) horror design of the first title, it's what made the franchise unique in the first place.
The idtech mambo#5 frankenstein monster is (unsurprisingly) misbehaving here too: the framerate itself is acceptable for my vintage rig (between 50 and 70fps on High, no blur/CA, 1080p, TAA) and there is no stuttering, though the frame pacing truly is poor, even 60fps don't feel as smooth as they should be no matter the tricks and fps-limiting used. Mouse controls are a bit sluggish and the graphics are only serviceable, not bad but definitely not impressive either, with so-so textures and a LOD that's clearly designed to be admired from the couch (once again, not a surprise). Will try to use some downsampling + Reshade sharpen/gamma magic and see if it can be improved

I finished this and I can't say I was impressed by anything. I already complained about the dated graphics riddled with "AAA" quality glitches so I'll move on to some other things. The story is weak, not necessarily predictable, but unimpressive. It's not really scary, creepy, twisted or emotional and ironic enough the narrative really tries to tick all these boxes. The gameplay is enjoyable, I won't lie, but mostly because it relies on the addictive elements like progression, exploration, secrets, etc. The combat is average in part due to the game's atrocious animation problems which become downright annoying when experienced during combat, but the control scheme doesn't help for sure.
Overall, The Evil Within 2 is a decent game, but nothing more. It tries to be too many things at once and doesn't really excel at any. It's pretty much a hybrid with an average quality in all the elements it tires to combine. I would definitely not recommend it for those who want a pure horror experience and for sure not at the 60$ price tag.
The conclusion was laughable, people shouldn't "hate" on the game because it doesn't have day one DLCs and lootboxes. Are these markers for quality that I didn't know about?
Well technically its not impressive, but from an artstyle standpoint there are a few neat areas, nothing rivaling the artistic vision of the first game though.
Overall its an enjoyable game, not as good as the first one since its not really a horror game anymore. The combat feels like a less dynamic but also less annoying version of the last of us' combat, with the story and characters obviously not being in the same ballpark, country, world.
I am having a good time with this. Way more than with first game.

Anyway - The structure of the game is good. Not boring yet but I was kinda missing the old style single player, loot boxes free game.
